Game Description:

Death Is Not an Escape.

Dead by Daylight is a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught, tortured and killed.

Survivors play in third-person and have the advantage of better situational awareness. The Killer plays in first-person and is more focused on their prey.

The Survivors’ goal in each encounter is to escape the Killing Ground without getting caught by the Killer – something that sounds easier than it is, especially when the environment changes every time you play.

More information about the game is available at http://www.deadbydaylight.com

Key Features

• Survive Together… Or Not – Survivors can either cooperate with the others or be selfish. Your chance of survival will vary depending on whether you work together as a team or if you go at it alone. Will you be able to outwit the Killer and escape their Killing Ground?

• Where Am I? – Each level is procedurally generated, so you’ll never know what to expect. Random spawn points mean you will never feel safe as the world and its danger change every time you play.

• A Feast for Killers – Dead by Daylight draws from all corners of the horror world. As a Killer you can play as anything from a powerful Slasher to terrifying paranormal entities. Familiarize yourself with your Killing Grounds and master each Killer’s unique power to be able to hunt, catch and sacrifice your victims.

• Deeper and Deeper – Each Killer and Survivor has their own deep progression system and plenty of unlockables that can be customized to fit your own personal strategy. Experience, skills and understanding of the environment are key to being able to hunt or outwit the Killer.

• Real People, Real Fear – The procedural levels and real human reactions to pure horror makes each game session an unexpected scenario. You will never be able to tell how it’s going to turn out. Ambience, music, and chilling environments combine into a terrifying experience. With enough time, you might even discover what’s hiding in the fog.

  1. 😮 Yes! I don't think I ever said it anywhere, but I've been hoping for DbD to become a series on this channel for so long!

A few pieces of general advice, I hope it's not too much at once:

It's of course true that stealth is part of the game, and when you sprint you leave behind very visible scratch marks that the killer can follow. However, these fade away fairly quickly, so they're only a concern when the killer is actually nearby. When you know he's far away (for example when you just saw someone get downed on the opposite side of the map, or when you're not hearing the heartbeat and it's not a silent killer), it's generally a better idea to run because you will get to the next generator much quicker, giving the killer less time to find everyone else. What you shouldn't do outside of chases is drop pallets and vault through windows while running, since any rushed action creates a map-wide loud noise and tells the killer exactly where you are (which you could of course also use as a distraction).

Another way to know the killer is occupied is to look at the player icons on the left. One survivor will always be randomly selected to be the killer's obsession, marked by two claws around their portrait. While that survivor is getting chased, those claws will move. So as long as you aren't the obsession yourself, if you see the claws moving and that person isn't near you, you'll know the killer isn't near you either.

With the above points in mind, messing up a skill check doesn't mean you have to immediately run from that generator. If you have reason to believe the killer is far away, it's usually much better to just stay on it and keep fixing it for as long as you safely can.

On a different note, just like Keith already noticed, when a generator is fully repaired, the lights above it will turn on. Additionally, you can see how far a generator is repaired by the amount of pistons on it that are moving.

Finally, while Self Care isn't a bad perk, it takes a really long time, which could often be better spent helping your team. Letting someone else heal you (especially when you can communicate where you are) or using medkits is much faster.

  2. Good guys Brian and Ephi with the instruction phase, albeit with the worst possible classroom to work with. Very glad to see that, instead of just throwing people under the bus like a lot of peeps tend to do it. The Killer View was also a nice touch!

  3. Easy-to-find-perks recommendation with their icon descriptions:
    1. Iron Will (front view of face biting a horizontal rectangle) makes your grunts of pain silent when injured, so you're harder to track.
    2. Technician (side view of someone shushing half of a gear) gives you a significant chance to screw up a skill check on a generator without alerting the killer, so you can get used to making skill checks and eventually replace it with something better.
    3. Deja Vu (an eye with a swirl effect, as if being hypnotized) will show you the outline of generators that are close to each other at the beginning of the trial and each time a generator is complete.
    4. Lithe (a person vaulting over an obstacle) will give you a speed boost when you fast vault (vault while sprinting) through a window or over a dropped pallet, letting you gain distance on the killer in a chase or (since you seem to fast vault outside of chase without worrying about consequences) will let you get to your objectives faster.

VERY IMPORTANT: Lithe and some other perks will afflict you with the Exhausted status effect when you use them; this is basically a cooldown period shared by all perks that afflict you with it. Why that is important to you right now is you cannot use Lithe or any other "Exhaustion perks" until the status effect goes away. This will teach you how to manage the Exhausted status effect and help you stop fast vaulting out of chase (which gives a visual indicator of your position to the killer).

  4. If everyone plays the game in a try-hard way and cares about winning/loosing it falls apart really quickly in how unbalanced and annoying it can be, however if you don't take it too seriously and just have fun with it (especially if you are the killer) it's an absolute blast 😀

  5. I am so tripped out by the lullaby in the background. I now need to research where does that melody come from, because I previously thought it was local.
EDIT: I did not expect Peridin cameo. O_o
