It’s interesting because Evan’s fascination of how his father acts slowly turns him into a monster. It’s an interesting story. His original moral compass versus the nurturing of his father, it’s tragic in a smaller way than most of the Dbd backstories.
"Break their spirit, once broken a human is a tool that can be weilded to do anything" I find this interesting since Trapper once he was taken by the Entity was tortured by it relentlessly until he did its bidding. All those bits of metal impaling his body are the result of the Entity basically beating him into submission. The fact his father says this is cool parallel, the Entity having a similar approach to killers who don't listen to it, both think alike and are monsters.
It also shows Evan might still have a shred of morality in the Entity's realm as he defied it before. Perhaps he regrets that he snapped during his life and killed those people before the Entity took him. Now he's being forced to keep killing survivors to feed it and he may not want to be like that and regrets his previous actions as simply being pushed to his limit mentally by his father, but it's too late now that he is in the fog and he just has to do what it wants or face consequences.
Nice video
