  1. I almost exclusively play as a survivor and have always been against the idea of SBMM, and the main reason is almost all of my games no are iridescent rank 1 sweatfest killers who down and kill my whole team with 3-5 gens left almost every single match (and I have never made it to red ranks, and most of my matches my team mates are gold or below)

  2. Honestly I feel like this system just pairs me with high mmr just because of my hours played and i get destroyed every game. I played for a quite some time today and all my games where a sweat fest where I barley get 1 kill, even playing killers that I never touched seemed to rank me with really good players. I do have quite a few hours in this game but I never reached red rank and had trouble staying In purple yet it still matches me with people that play just to destroy killers lol. This whole update just sucked out the fun for me.

  3. Im a survivor main with tons of playtime over the past few months and I have also been getting a huge range of killer skill. Im not the most productive sweaty survivor but I'm very decent in chase and I escape often, yet I'm still sometimes getting ash killers. So far I've faced one really good killer but that's it. Extremely inconsistent.

  4. HEY! I was the highlighter Nea is this game 😍 AKA Rymey! This was a fun match, I'm also a Demo main and always enjoy going against powerful Demogorgans! Was so much fun!

  5. Same here, my games have been all over the place as survivor. I’ve gotten really great killers and the next game it’ll be a killer that struggled the whole match. And my teammates in solo queue have been inconsistent too – good teammates and bad.

  6. After playing it for a couple days WOW the killers i face have been a lot harder. Usually i face nurse 2/3 of the time but i wont complain, id rather that than deathslinger or huntress (fix hitboxes when?)

  7. As a survivor main, my survivor games with a friend have been about what you would expect for my rank, mostly high golds or high/low iridescent killers. My 2 killer games since SBMM have been absolute hell, first game was a SWF sweat squad that I had no chance of even getting a single hook on because I'm really bad at killer, then my second game was against two survivors iridescent and the other two were 1 rank from iridescent. I am the absolute lowest tier for killer, ash iv or whatever it is.

  8. Seems like it's doing good for some people, not so great for others. I saw someone get all rank 1 for like 10 matches in a row. How? I still get Gold ranks or whatever it is, and I absolutely destroy them. Besides a gold trickster, he was just throwing knives constantly. But yeah, I usually don't have much trouble with rank 1's anyway but i was just dumbfounded on how some people get 20 rank 1's in a row and it's still a hodgepodge for me.

  9. "I switched to demigorgon for like 5 games, and it was the same thing".

Something that I don't know the answer to, is if you only get MMR ratings from the games since MMR has been online. I believe the devs said that there are separate ratings for each killer, so it is possible that if the system only has 5 games to base your rating on, then it will in effect be an inconsistent matchmaking experience.

Then again I'm sure you played a lot of pinhead and that seems to be an inconsistent experience as well so this could be completely wrong, but it's something at least worth considering. Something that is usually fundamental to MMR systems is that it needs a large amount of data input and preferably recent data to be accurate. A bit of a unique problem to dbd is also the 4 to 1 ratio it needs to consider when it comes to killer / survivor mmr.

  10. its been everywhere up down left right of my experience as blight and other killers but for huntress it was hell for the 1 game i had with her and for survivor its been ok killers who are ok and bad not gone against someone who was very good except for 2 games but overall ok

  12. Game's been borderline unplayable for me, I have around 100h in the game as a survivor(was around rank10-12) and maybe 5h as killer?. The killers I've been matched with have been incredibly sweatty red ranks that camped and the whole shebang. As killer I had like 4-5 games under my belt(rank 18) and was starting to get the hang of it. Now,(I'm still ash grade) the queues take forever and I keep getting matchedwith red grades (bunch of them rank1), get bullied and teebagged for 8min then they all escape by the time I have 2-3 hooks tops. Since the SBMM I've been getting destroyed on both fronts by sweatty builds and people cursing eachother out in post game chat it's just unfun. The main argument I'm being told is "git gud" which doesn't sound fun either. I enjoyed DbD for the sole fact that it was relatively casual and you could afford to try wacky builds without stressing about it.

  13. SBMM has been an absolute nightmare. I have to sweat my ass off every single game to try and get 2 kills. Run all the meta stuff or be curbstomped.

  14. I'm mixed on this, I play both sides and as a survivor, I have been actually getting better teammates overall, 4/5 games I will have at least 2 people that know what they're doing, but the other one I get 20 hour players. I have only 350 hours but I consider to be a decetish survivor. As a killer it's been mixed. I've gotten legacy God player games as well as Meg head games and it's been a mix of really bad or really good. Overall it's still an improvement especially on survivor side but I don't expect it to flourish too much in the long term

  15. Quality of survivors I've gotten has massively dropped – I steamroll most game but every couple of games I run into the sweatiest SWF team that make me just afk from how oppressive and unfun the match is just so I can be out of there sooner.

  16. I thought I come back and try out the “SBMM” but seems like it didn’t work at all, no surprise their.

I kept facing gold-irri rank survivors even though game place me at ash 1. (Haven’t played in a while) but I was facing ppl every game that had more then 10x playtime that stomped on me like I was nothing.

Played like 10 matches before I gave up due to boredom, I know the killer roll is weak but this is just ridiculous. “Facing better survivors will make you learn faster/become better” maybe but no other game you play to lowest “grade” and gets against a full top team. Imagine if it was something like CS where a group of bronze was pitted against a group of Global elit on a daily basis. I can’t imagine it being fun playing against new ppl all the time in the long run.

The only theory I have is that their is 0 players under gold in DbD so the closest ppl to me is “gold 3”. That can’t be true…

  17. I’m a killer main but I’ve only really played survivor since the system’s release. This is literally the best survivor experience I’ve ever had outside of a 4 man. This has nothing to do with the ability of the killer, which is a bit better I’d say but not really something I care about, what does matter to me is that I can finally queue without a 4 man and feel I’m playing the game. The randoms used to be so bad it was miserable and probably the main factor in me maining killer, I felt I needed minimum 3 people to even play survivor. After about 10 games in the last day, I can say pretty much all my teammates were atleast okay, even the couple of bad ones were just kinda bad in chase, and incomparable to self care/urban evasion bots and the like. I’d say it makes sense survivors favour this system purely because a decent or better surv will now theoretically (and for me, practically) get better teammates

  18. I’m only bronze 4 with 15 hours on pc and I consistently get gold and red rank survivors with full perk builds when I only have 1 killer above level 30 and 1 teachable perk. I only get around 1 kill per game because of it too but I keep getting red survivors. I really want to know how the matchmaking even works(if it even works).

  19. Ever since they reset us all to grey rank, I have noticed it a lot. My main killers are much harder to play, but with killers I don’t play often, I play against potatoes. I just want a middle ground experience, that’s not too challenging, but that’s not as easy as pie.

  20. Guys, this causes controversy for a reason

For people who CARE, this fuckin sucks. It’s inconsistent as fuck if you’re really good or bad.

The “sweet spot” (and the reason they decide ‘yes let’s make everyone who plays our game more than once a week hate us’) is because where this system DOES work, is it “protects” the absolute most garbage brain dead players.
Those players, who traditionally without any skill based matchmaking protection, could be scared away and never come back by someone who took the time to learn the craft (the entire point).

But THANKS to battle passes and skins making developers BOATLOADS of money, protecting those fucking retards/11 year olds who steal moms credit cards/ both means WAY MORE SKIN ANE BATTLE PASS MONEY.

Then the Dev’s eyes turn into dollar signs and use this as a Justification – “We’ve seen the win/loss probability %s change DRASTICALLY for both new(garbage trash) and skilled (super sweat). Sounds great on paper right?

What they DIDNT test is: enjoyment factor for players of ALL levels, consistency factor (6 games in a row with garbage teammates or 6 games in a row dominating).

    I could rant forever.
    Point is.

They make the game this way because keeping the garbage around and not “scaring them off” means more money, as the passionate players and skilled are punished.
But remember, they still make the game, they still see the player counts, and they know damn well that this affects ALOT OF SHIT they just put a blindfold on for. AS LONG as it = more money long story short here’s the moral:

Yes, any game company will absolutely go “damn this system punishes our most frequent players…. But DAMN those stupid 11 year olds raise our monthly salary 🤩🤩 and they will not second guess ruining their game , as long as coddled protected idiots keep spending $60 game, and then $20 on skin after skin aftwr skin even though they can’t hold a controller.

So in other words. As soon as people stop being fucking retarded and buying into greedy fucks like the sheep they are, our favorite games won’t be ruined 🙂 have a nice day!

  21. trying to pick up blight and my experience is hell. I got 1 game where I actually had a decent time. Everything else has just been unfun and miserable. I also seem to be getting haddonfield a lot more which also fucking sucks.
