First time checking out the new Killer “The Unknown” as well as the new Survivor and Map. This content is currently available on the PTB for Dead by Daylight on PC (Steam) and will come to the live servers on early March 2024!

  1. The killer power really doesn't fit his theme, a grenade launcher for an urban legend monster? Sounds more like the killer was going to be the Predator and they just reused the power on this one.

  4. Invocation perk should be better, it shouldn't deactivate for other players so they can do their thing, people shouldn't be allowed to help you with the ritual because it wastes the team's time more than it actually helps for what you get out of it

  9. Theres some choices here that i find very confusing lol. Both in terms of killer design and one of his perks.

    We have this body horror monster, and yet its just wielding a fire axe…couldnt do anything else with that? No claws? No like blade arm? The grenade launcher in its gut has teeth but its gonna wield a fire axe?

    Also the 3rd killer perk, you gain 3 tokens up to 30, but theres no way to gain 1 or 2 tokens at a time…and all tokens are consumed when triggered anyway, and by the same percentages?

Now i absolutely love the new killer, he’s terrifying and him mimicking past victims is scary, but his abilities doesn’t suit him at all, i honestly thought he’d be on all fours (pause) and have a different ability to scare survivors kinda like the dredge, but he seems pretty cool everything else is stunning and this will definitely get me back into dbd ☺️

  30. I really like the idea of invocation perks. I assume if you have multiple (once they're added) that they'll all activate with the same ritual like boons, so you get a handful of insanely powerful effects in exchange for major trade-offs, a lot of potential risk, and a huge time investment. The broken effects are balanced out by how much it costs to get them, and it might give killers a new objective to watch out for at times, kind of like an eighth generator.

  37. I like the Killer perks personally. None of them are strong enough on their own, but all add in different directions to fun and still useful builds. Unbound obviously fits into the window build, Unforseen could have use for insta-down killers like billy and myers, and I can't wait to use undone as someone who prefers Lullaby over other slowdown perks.

  41. Sable is going to be disgustingly popular with how goth she looks. We might finally have someone who can dethrone Feng.

    Killer perks are trash, power seems kinda mid at first glance but has anti-loop and can group damage, visual/audio design is A+.

  42. The biggest disappointment was this killer’s power and the random axe. The hallucination part of the ability could have been much cooler, mimicking survivor noises or something while undetectable, or at least having the “hallucinations” not just stand in place, as it inhibits the necessary part of killer to stay active.

    The axe feels just extremely out of place. We can give whatever band-aid explanation as to why it has an axe, “maybe it’s mimicking humans?!” But it won’t change the fact that it feels very disappointing and just makes the creature much less intimidating. Use its teeth, its hands, a shadow, anything but some typical slasher movie weapon.

    The killer would also be a lot cooler if maybe it did crawl while in chase or something like that. Obviously it’s important to have it visible for survivors to see it coming, as being a low to the ground killer is a major buff, but having it crawl OCCASIONALLY while in chase would still allow its terror radius to be heard, as well as give survivors a level of understanding to where it’s at, because hey, it’s chasing dwight.

    I honestly don’t even want to mention the random projectile ability. It misses the mark completely with how we are supposed to feel about this killer. Its teasers were scary and shocking by how quickly and violently the killer was able to tear into the man. No axe. No purple spit. Just fast and horrible consuming of the man.
    This killer feels like a combination of every copy paste killer we’ve had over the last couple years. Random projectile. Teleportation. “Hallucinations” of the killer that just stand completely still and trick no-one.

    This criticism comes from a place of disappointment and hope squandered more than anything. The marketing and teasing of this killer were phenomenal. They made me excited to boot back up the game again. I knew it would be a terrifying killer. And then the gameplay released. And the killer has some ridiculous axe. And he spits at people. And doesn’t mimic anything in regards to people, unlike what the teasers show. “BUT BUT THE VOICELINES” what about them? They are killer-side only, and even IF (which I doubt it even a thing) the survivors can hear it mumbling about “help me help me”, sure it’s scary, but I think we all agree that we expected it to be able to mimic SURVIVORS in SOME WAY. I don’t know about you, but what part of the kit does that? Is it the purple koolaid it spits out? No. Is it the 3 copies of itself that stand blankly around the map and look stupid (like Hag, Spirit, Doctor)? No. Is it the random ability to teleport to these copies, like Hag, Ornyo, Dredge, Freddy, Demogorgon, Cenobite, xenomorph, etc? No. Maybe it’s the random Fire Axe it carries around as it walks toward you and uses, because “axes are SCARY”? No.

    I was looking forward to this killer. Survivor is hot. I was LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS KILLER. I am honestly just sad. Just sad and with misplaced hope. Yet another killer on the roster, which no one will play, and will sit there until a year from now where you get into the ONE match against it in 7 months, and remember it exists, and even in that match, it will just be a carbon copy of every other killer anyway. What a shame. What a damn shame.

    Tl;dr killer is carbon copy of everything and is just a visually awkward combination of monster and shitty slasher movie with random axe. Depressing
