  1. Love how you did the video. And mentioning that the gameplay isn't necessarily relevant shows that you've read the comments that wanted a smaller gameplay window for when it is not relevant for the discussion and a bigger window if it is.

  2. I feel like MMR is really healthy for higher tier killers and survivors to get appropriate matchmaking. That being said, it's awful for new players. I've got about 60 hours in the game mixed between killer and survivor. In the time I was playing with the Wednesday-Friday MMR test as survivor every killer was red ranks and by steam profile the people I was playing with often had 10x my hours, sometimes more. As a result, I don't remember surviving a single game during the MMR test and every game felt effectively hopeless because I was very obviously outclassed by not only the killer but even the survivors.

  3. A little feedback from my side:
    – I really like these kinds of videos, where you present your point of view, it’s very interesting
    – The sound from the gameplay video however distracted me and it bothered me a tiny bit

In conclusion, a really good video

  4. I'm skeptical of MMR. I understand the pros of it, I understand the cons of it. It needs to be done right though, and I think it needs to be transparent. Right now anybody who wants to know about their MMR has to guess what it is based on who they're playing against. Then who knows how much it adjusts based on your win/loss you just got? I think the more people know about it, the more okay people will be with it. But if they keep it in the dark alot of people will dislike it.

  5. In my opinion, yes. I think it should be in the game but in it's own separate playlist like R6 Siege. No one wants to be sweaty every single game because most of us just wanna chill sometimes and have fun!

  6. The mmr wasn't great as a survivor, I'm a rank 3 survivor and I only went up against rank 1 sweat killers I play more casually. Then as a killer I usually stay around rank 10 and rank 8, during the test I tried trapper for the first time and got yellow and green ranks which I feel like is kinda fair. Then I tried out spirit for the first time and I got yellow and green ranks first match, then second match of spirit was purple ranks and after that it was only red rank 1 swf. So after 2 games as spirit the mmr ALWAYS gave me red rank 1 swfs, didn't matter how many matches I lost and depipped I still got them. So I got frustrated and went to play Pig, my main and I got only red rank 1 swfs again. So it might've been great for trying out a new killer for one or two matches but otherwise it just made me sad and frustrated because I couldn't enjoy any game because everyone of them became sweaty.

  7. I didn’t play during this mmr test so I’m super curious to know what other people think. I agree that mmr could work for dbd, but like you said it would have to work to be good. And for queues they can have like a 10 minute cap as to how long it will search for an mmr game. After this it either puts you in a game where it just goes off of rank or even lowers your mmr temporarily so you could be put in a match. Something like that I feel could work.

  8. I only played survivor with friends during it. My experience was quite good personally. We were matched against a range of different killers with various rank, and it seemed to depend on how well/bad we did in the game before.
I only started playing DBD recently so I'm not very good yet and my friends are very good. Normally when we play we get rank 1 killers that just outclass me so much I barely get anything done in the games. But with the MMR test even I got to have some good games.
The almost instant queues were also really nice.

  9. I know cues could get longer but I'd like separate modes. MMR mode, "Competitive", would have the tournament scoring system implemented and in the lobby you would be able to see the perks your teammates pick (could be turnbased) and the team could only pick two of the same perks, like in tournaments. Addons rarity would be restricted as well. And, on the other hand, rank based mode, "casual", which would be your regular dbd.

  10. I personally found MMR great. Because now that its off I get so many d/c or hook suicide within 1min of the match, because they get found and downed in 5 seconds. During MMR i had great randoms in solo.

  11. This SBR week was… awful for me and most of my friends. We either A: got camped and tunneled into the ground 10 games in a row and lost with 5 gens left or B: Escaped every game with 1-2 hooks (total.)

The main point was that killers were SUPER campy and tunnely. So much so that my rank (which has been rank 1 for… as long as I can remember), dropped to rank 3 over the course of a day, strictly from being camped or tunneled. (Because at rank 1 if you get tunneled, even if you run the killer the ENTIRE match, you'll still de-pip because you didn't do anything else.) There is no way to counter being camped. You WILL de-pip. There is no way to counter tunneling. Even if you're good at running the killer, you will AT MOST, black pip, but more often than not de-pip.

This was all in solo queue. I saw no improvement in my teammate's skill level (even though they were all red ranks).

I had more basement camping (or just camping in general) killers during that week than I had in the previous…. 2 months? (I run kindred so I just stay away when they camp.)

While I 100% support MMR/SBR, if that's what the games are going to be like…. then I'm just not going to play. Something needs to be done about camping and tunneling because it ruins games. They have no counters. Even the perks designed to fight against them (virtually all of the meta perks) aren't successful. Killers tunnel through DS, through BT. It doesn't stop them. Tunneling a single survivor out of the game is far too strong of a strategy. It works far too well to be left alone.

  12. I only played a single game as a killer because I was bullied by red ranks and just lost any interest and getting closer to my skill level (like. Getting people with yellow ranks etc.(

  13. Not much to test when you don't do the coding properly… that being said, we do need an actual good mmr system in DBD. We need to not have rank 1 survivors in rank 10 killer games for example. Or rank 1 survivors against lv1 killers at rank 10 for example. You understand what I'm saying right? This system needs to take into consideration your killer level and your in-game hours as well. The only problem left to fix after that is … idk ? smurfing? that's gonna always be a problem so don't bother kekw. And the killer queues were abysmal this time, they're usually long but 30 minutes for 1 game !? AND THE LAST THING , survivors at rank 1 grouping with survivors at rank 20 will break every mmr system , so maybe stop allowing that? make a system that forces survivors to be within a certain rank limit like rank 1 can only queue with people that are up to a maximum rank of 8 maybe? The information they should go off of on how good a survivor is should be how much he does in general. Not only chase , not only gens, not only cleansing. Same for killers to be honest. They should reduce mmr for proximity to hook and tunneling so that we have a more non toxic ladder and the toxic people stay at the bottom but at the same time update the systems becaues proximity to hook checking is really really bad sometimes and on some maps it's unavoidable. This has been a problem for too long already. Color ranking will balance out after a while if they stop resetting the stupid ladder every single month, make it 6. this is why DBD can't be taken as a serious competitive game.. Also 48 hours is not enough to test something like this out, give it a month, Jesus ,BHVR!

  14. As a new player I hated the new mmr system. Prior to the test as a suvivor I was playing with people around my lvl though the killer would be a red 4-7 while I was a 12-13. But all my teammates were rank 16-20.

But when I was killer I seemed to get a lot of red as a rank 15 killer.
I think this mmr idea is a good idea but as a newer player I feel it's very invasive as in terms of balance if you have a high WR it automatically placed you into higher brackets.

I just wish we had a new ranked mode that took care of mmr Matchmaking.

  15. Yes I think they should and have a two killers v 6 survivors and 7 gens but the map needs to be bigger so its easier for the killer or just keep 5 gens and 6 survivors and to killers

  16. I think the MMR system isn’t great. The reason why is because it doesn’t represent a player’s skill entirely in my opinion because they could’ve been boosted while playing with a swf and if they leave the swf they’re MMR is high when they’re not even that great.

  17. Imo we need a system that combines ranks with MMR. It should by synchronised in a way where a player who genuinely outclasses most of the people with the same rank, ranks up and then plays against players in the next rank with mediocre to low MMR for their rank. So if you’re a rank 1 nurse main and you 4K every game but then play another killer, you’ll still play rank 1’s but with lower MMR instead of stomping on rank 20’s. Curious to hear you guys’ opinions

  18. If they do go for an MMR system for their game I hope that they buff the killers that need it. The worse thing I can imagine is being in high MMR as a survivor and see nothing but same handful of viable killers again and again. I remember one week a year ago, for seemingly no reason there were a ton of Spirit games. It was me and my friend against an army of spirits and he just quit DBD for a week, saying to call him back when the Spirit craze was over with.

  19. Yes definitely need to do this. I wanna learn to be a killer, not only can I not practice offline, but I’m a total noob so I don’t even know to be that effective of a survivor either so it kinda breaks the game for newcomers who want the learn/experiment.

  20. My first three games as killer after mmr started were so sweaty and far beyond my skill level that I couldn't kill a single survivor and I found it more stressful than anything when I just casually play the game chill and ended up not playing the rest of the day. I played several more matches hoping that eventually it'll work out and give me easier games with people who probably played as much as I did which was about 6-7 games which is more than what I'd usually play in a day but I haven't got a single kill and got absolutely humiliated by all the survivors and it really puts me off from playing it, even though the mmr is over I'm still not wanting to get back into it now cause I don't want to wear deodorant when I want to play a game that's supposed to be so casual

  21. My survivor matches was good loved it. My killer matches was all sweaty. I've played dbd for almost a year I bought it last August…. I'm a red rank killer and survivor but every killer match for me was stupid stupid sweaty. I never de piped below rank 2 but it was hard. Lots of slugging some camping and some games I had to tunnel bc I'd only have 2 of 3 hooks when all the gens was done. If every game is going to be like that then idk if I wanna support it. I love a challenge but when it's as hard as it comes every game it's not fun after awhile

  22. I think it should stay for people who want to have fun and not get sweated on and obviously it will take a couple days for the matchmaking to get set up but I think it should stay

  23. When I first started DBD, I was a teenager and played non stop, as a result I got extremely good. Since then I've gotten a job and have way less time to play per week, and as a result I can never get high than rank 6-7 before reset. I feel bad mowing over survivors that are just starting after rank resets, but it is what it is I guess. Hopefully they get a MMR system that works for everyone!

  24. I didn't like the games I got in MMR. Often, it felt like I was winning less because of my skill and more because my opponents screwed up. And it also felt like (at least as killer) that I'd get behind largely because survivors just knew how to split up on generators, and had zero fear of the killer. They'd gladly take a hookstate to complete a generator. And it was like that for several games. I feel like my MMR didn't go down because I kept getting the 'balanced' kill total, even though I was struggling in those games.
