I'm that killer that will play badly to give survivors a more enjoyable game. I never slug and I try not to camp or tunnel unless I was kinda kited into doing so (the rescuer dissappears and the only thing I have is the unhooked survivor)
I've found that debating whether something did or didn't take skill in a PvP setting is sort of a Catch-22. Capitalizing on another player's failure is the only way to win any game; if both players play perfectly then the game should always resolve in a tie.
Me playing a Distressing, Starstruck Doctor with terror radius increasing addons: I beg to differ.
Leave it to Jund to take the worst take. Amazing
This is expressly why Kindred should be in every survivor's build. So many freaking times players go in for that save with a Bubba KNOWING he is pretty much camping with insidious, yet they do it anyway and boom two or three are downed and I'm on my gen halfway across the map having to figure out a way to save them.
mhm
These videos crack me up because absolutely nothing takes any skill on the survivor side. Just get on comms with your buddies, split and stick on gens, insta throw every pallet (there are a million + busted structures on every map) and you will win ez clap. All the really good survivors now just group up and set out to make the game as frustrating as possible for the killer rather than just bang out gens because they have 8,000 hours and the game is easy
Who said it's a skill? I always thought it was a strategy.
I never really slug as unbreakable and the new totem are a thing its pretty much close to pointless to do so
Punishing the enemies mistakes isn’t skill, it’s called “Fast reactions and decision making”
slugging is a way to slow the game down , if A a team B survivors are dumb AND C it fun making survivors frustated ( wasting time )
I normally try not to slug cause I just play to have fun and I know it wouldn’t be fun if I got slugged a lot. The only time I will ever try to slug is if I don’t have my 4th stack of BBQ or if I’m doing adept and NEED to get everyone dead for safety
How about twins? Their entire gameplay is based on slugging
It's honestly really weird that we're having this conversation. It's like getting mad about the killer seeing you and chasing you because slugging is literally that basic and integral to the game. People who get upset that slugging exists are the same people who get mad at the killer for winning.
Oh, yeah, i agree
I think slugging is more like ounishing survivors then rewarding killers
Like, you have 4 guys in a map, with 16 perks and a bunch of anti slug perks
If an entire team can be slugged, the killer didn't played perfectly, the survivors played badly
I don’t think itself is a skill, I think it’s just a very small part of the bigger skill requirement of killer that is efficiently juggling 4 people at once and time efficiency
I primarily use slugging as a prevention of tunneling. Most killers utilize it, but I mostly just use it to not be a dick and give someone a second chance. I really don't like tunneling, so it is a good solution to not doing that when I down someone who I had just hooked.
My game as Survivor tonight was against a slugging Blight with Infectious, but he slugged a couple of times when someone hadn't screamed on his down. He still got a 4k but could have had it much sooner had he not slugged another Survivor near the start of the match and then me near the middle of it.
As Killer I try and not slug unless I'm not going for kills. If someone burns an event cake of B.P.S. then I'll slug people on deathhook so as to not kill them but also slow things down a bit to get everyone else on death hook as well and maybe kill anyone being toxic.
Also as Killer I respect hook trades, so if someone unhooks in my face I'll down them and let the other person run off instead of slugging and going after the unhooked person.
I think there is some skill involved in knowing when to slug but for the most part it's really just based on if the Survivors let you get away with it, yeah.
Thanks for the video Scott.
Oni power is example of slugging.
It’s actually not an interesting talking point. It’s scot trying to justify the state of an unjustifiable game.
"Slugging is Not a Killer skill" me getting flashbacks of Nurses with the infamous slug build
Damn bro, you come out swinging lmao
I got hooked, face camped, tunneled off of hook, and killed. The killer didn't do it, though – it was the survivors who did it.
Slugging, the build: infectious fright, tinkerer, starstruck, make your choice.
Myers hitting tier 3 needs to slug, legion needs to slug off hook if he downs someone with DS, ghostface when multiple 99 survivors are nearby, and billy, oni, etc all need to slug with they have targets and can instadown.
Recognizing when you should slug is a real killer skill, though. In the set of decisions you make, knowing when you can (and need) to generate more pressure (while potentially losing a hook) is something that a killer has to decide, and can easily get wrong.
You explained this very well, it's similar to when people say the killer is "tunneling". 90% of the time it's the survivor's fault for not waiting to do a safe unhook. Basically sometimes as survivor you're forcing the killer to slug and/or tunnel if you commit certain mistakes.
Nurse: When am I facing worthy survivors that play good cuz every match is a slug fest u hooligans.
I find the scott in the background footage very distracting because i genuinely cannot hear what the he is saying. I am subconsciously trying to listen to footage scott talking and i can't help it.
