I like your theory but i thought that maybe the Cameras will be for getting Springtrap out of his stealth and somehow "reduce" his power as you said.
Scott said he wants FNAF to feel like FNAF no matter the IP he collabs with,so in the game Springtrap becomes more and more aggressive each night and the less you look at the security cameras,i remember that Springtrap takes around 20-30 seconds to be at your door in FNAF 3 if you do not look at the cameras,Showing how quick and aggressive he really is.
I think his power will have to do with Generators also,making him stronger each generator that gets completed and maybe the cameras allow The survivors to someway "slow" Springtrap down..
This just a small theory i made up right now but its kinda hard to tell without a clear plan of the power.

He said that tokyo ghoul would be announced last week, and that didn't happen, He also said springtrap wouldn't have an axe and then randomly came out and said springtrap would have an axe. but I'm pretty sure he has a few real leaks and he's placing fake leaks on top of those real leaks.
IF he gets cameras i hope its not going to be like xeno or singularity cuz its no fun being FORCED into an m1 killer or leave chase to do nothing for awhile just so you can simply chase a survivor without losing 3 gens while doing so
This sounds like a load of fake rumors to me, Springtrap using a axe would be really stale and boring, heck even Matthew Cote himself said that Springtrap would have a very unique power.

To everyone saying that this guy is fake, that’s what I mentioned in the video, that this guy could be a fake. It’s the mechanic that interests me the most out of everything, I don’t really care if it’s fake or not. If it is fake, that just adds more mystery to Springtraps power which I’m all for. I feel it would be a mix of a stealthy jumpscare ability(new status effect or Exposed) with an aggressive side to it like I mentioned. I do feel Springtrap’s weapon should just be his hands, for he can beat the shit out of survivors like Nemesis

Imo springtraps power should be this:
He spawns with phantoms and they roam around the map. If they find you there is a specific thing to counter them and they are like a mix of doctors blast and nemesis zombies. They do not injure just make you scream and idk it has a gauge like plague, Freddy and og skull merchant where if you get it maxed, the killer is undetectable for that duration and you must look at the cameras in order to know where he is.
Idk but that would be fun or he can just be an undetectable killer and u need cameras to find out where he is. And the cameras have like a setting like the fnaf 3 game where a scream can be generated instead of yk the little kid in fnaf 3. So this would be used to fool the killer into thinking that the phantom jumpscared someone near idk exit gate or wtv and ofc the killer cannot see the phantoms auras.

People in the comments seem to think that Springtrap's weapon won't be an axe and did too, but Mathieu Cote in an interview said that his weapon will be like Sadako's in the sense that it won't be something that we've seen in the Franchise but something original that fits the Character, so i think his weapon is most likely a fire axe
Those rumors are bs. There's no way Afton throws hatchets and would get Burntrap skin, when there are many posibilities (Dark Springtrap, Blood soaked Spring Bonnie, Yellow Rabbit). Also holy crap 2:50 it's the poster I made like half a decade ago!

I've always thought that for a fnaf killer to be successful the gameplay as survivor needs to feel like you're playing a FNAF game at least somewhat. I think cameras in some form are essential to this. You could also maybe include system errors that buff springtrap if survivors dont deal with it but not completely necessary probably something more than can be referenced in perks.
I personally always liked the idea of a fire axe despite it never being in the games but the ability to throw and recall an axe seems completely unfitting.
Even if this leaker is reputable, springtrap would not have an axe lol, he has never had an axe in any depiction of him besides fan ones
