No hate to Tru3 at all, he’s a chill lad, but I just disagree with his opinion that survivors derank their mmr all the time, we all have our own opinions in life, it is what it is.

  1. Forgot to mention in the video, but there is also an argument that creators cherry pick their content so that the only videos they post are ones where they do well. Well, yeah, no one really wants to watch someone get rolled every game, as it wouldn't be entertaining, so while content is cherrypicked amongst a lot of footage, it doesn't give any proof that people intentionally derank, plus mmr is invisible, you can't tell either way

  2. The title is wrong, it should be changed to "big streamers don't de-rank"
As a player who gives too much mercy and drop to the absolute bottom, I have seen streamers and players who does not belong there.
There are also script to afk and de-rank while grind BP. They can do the de-rank while sleeping, and afk is not bannable in my knowledge

  3. one major thing that people are missing is that the MMR system in this game doesn’t even work half of the time. as a survivor i regularly cycle through killers & teammates who play like they just downloaded the game, to killers & teammates who are sweating their absolute balls off. there’s no consistency. my killer MMR should be in the gutter because i rarely play killer, but whenever i try i always get 4 man swfs with 10k hours who beat my ass… except for maybe 5% of the time when i get survivors who play like they just downloaded the game, i bulldoze them, and then i feel bad lmao. the MMR system in dbd rarely works like it should because it’s an asymmetrical game that was never designed to be played competitively!

  4. Survivors derank my mmr pretty good. Ill have a match with people that let me get one hook and then next match ill 4k. Then one kill, 3k, 0k and so on.

I dont feel my matches are balanced at all.

  5. I would agree that the sbmm is broken to hell.
There have been times where I go up against really good survivors one game, and then literal fetuses the next.
Same with survivor, you lose ONCE and then you face someone that bought the game an hour ago

  6. During the last Tome of this chapter, there was a node that just required 16 chases as killer, granted that’s pretty easy but I took it as a chance to play meme builds and try out drift King Billy. I ended up loosing 2 of the 4 games but never with the intention to de-rank. This is a game, if you can’t have fun then why bother. It’s ok to throw a game or two every now and then for the sake of having a laugh.

  7. I deranked to get 551 4'ks in a row. I still faced comps 15% of the time. You cannot avoid great teams period. lol You showed the reddit post about me in the video. Want a interview? =)

  8. I think the opinion of "toxic" players is uneven because if you are a killer main you go against 4x the amount of players than when you are a survivor main. So after 100 matches you've seen 400 survivors vs survivors have seen 100 killers so the chances to see rude people is really off balance in the first place.

  9. I feel like my MMR is so fucked up. I lose every match (not on purpose) and I STILL feel like it never changes ever. Every once and awhile we will get a baby killer.

  10. There is 100% people who derank their MMR and I am one of them. I main survivor but do not lower my MMR as survivor. As a killer however, I lower my MMR and I can tell you that it does work. I have spent hours AFK deranking and doing challenges and letting survivors go and I almost always face people who are well below my level (and I'm a pretty bad killer). And honestly why would you not do this playing killer against competent survivors is miserable. Your argument that it is to time consuming does not really hold water, on both sides all you have to do is start up the game and AFK while you do something else. You could do this all day if you like, all you have to do is check to see if the game has ended and get into a new game every 10-15 minutes. Problem is not getting low MMR but keeping it, going for 4Ks is simply untenable in maintaining low MMR, therefore you must eternally play for 8 hooks with no kills and many people do not like just letting the survivors go.

I do however disagree that survivors are the ones who are most likely to lower their MMR as being low MMR is not good as a survivor as your get less points and can't pip as easily against really bad killers. On the flip side killer get far more points and pips when facing bad opponents then getting gen rushed by competent opponents. So in this way Killers are more incentivized to lower their MMR than survivors. That being said I still don't think it is super common but in the age of killer being so miserable to play it may be more common than one would think.

  11. I actually have a separate account for streaming. This way I can play Dead by daylight and advertise for my stream and then chill off stream with my friends. As for lowering MMR to bully others I don't think I've ever met someone who does that or who wants to devote time to do that, especially with the grind in dead by daylight specifically.

  12. People self admit on reddit or steam all the time that they derank lol

Now accusing any one streamer of deranking is silly
Mmr doesn't even work the idea of accusing someone of deranking is silly

  13. To me, it's just, "So what if they do? So what if they don't?" The MMR system is just so borked anyway, there's no sense, rhythm or rhyme to it. Iri 1 is just so easy to get and then at the end of it, there isn't even anything worthwhile out of it, just more BPs for your grind. If I'm watching a streamer, I just hope that they have fun, whether or not they tank their MMR for it.

Who cares about the competitive integrity of a game that is infamous for hackers, lol?

  14. COD content creators have been reverse boosting for years now… wouldn’t be surprised if a wave of DBD content creators are doing the same thing… and I would also like to add that COD content creators don’t sit there and reverse boost themselves they have a person doing it for them, just like they have someone sitting there playing to get them all the attachments and camos to the guns they want. So I can only imagine DBD creators would do the same thing.

  15. Thats what I dont understand literally mmr is broken in DBD but then they complain about people deranking their mmr because they go against baby killers or baby survivors. cognitive dissonance to the next level

  16. honestly true has this hatred against survivor mains thats getting pretty irritating. how are survivors 'gatekeeping' what is essentially tunneling, camping, etc. of course survivors are going to be annoyed but overall a lot of us dont care, just wanna get our challenge done and get out 🤓

  17. Ngl do you think hours mean skill someone said it doesn't and as someone from a fighting game community so you can see the issue …. hours to me obviously means skill but this has killed my willingness to look at chat it hurts my brain thinking that someone says hours don't = skill at all dbd makes me disappointed

  18. Rapid does know that all you have to do to derank your MMR as either roll is just load into a game and then don't do anything right? Like killer just sits there and lets everyone escape or surv gets found and killed by killer. And you could be tabbed out of the game watching YouTube that whole time…so idk what he means by deranking your MMR taking hours?
Like yes it would take hours but thats not hours youre spending actually playing the game

  19. Just because you don't do it Rapid doesn't mean it doesn't happen. I am not gonna name a creator but I 100 percent know she used SAM when it was a thing to lower her rank so her and her team could bully baby killers. I could see this same person doing it to their MMR if they still played.

  20. People most definitely derank in this game. When they had the old ranks and that’s how it match maked, it wasn’t uncommon to see 3-4 people (2/3 weeks after reset) in one game that were rank 15-17 or so but they would have 4 maxed out teachable perks, good items and add ons and you could just tell that they knew how to play.

Just because the concept doesn’t appeal to you, doesn’t mean there aren’t people out there that don’t do it. Yes, I know the old and new matchmaking systems are busted but people still abuse deranking to get easier games. Either because they just don’t want sweaty games and or because they want to bully killers or survivors. I’m definitely not saying every streamer does it, but there are definitely a few of them that do.

  21. I would definitely say more survivors exhibit toxic behavior than killer. Are killers capable of toxicity and bming? Definitely. However I have rarely had a killer tell me to kill myself or tell me to 'get gud' at the game because of my playstyle. Survivors exhibit, at the very least, far more PREVALENT toxic behavior. Out of the probably 15 or so games I played this week over half of them the survivors either said something nasty to me or called me out for my playstyle in a very rude way.

  22. The problem with Tru3 is that he seems to have an overinflated sense of his own wisdom. He's brilliant at the game, but this poll question is so poorly formed, it's worse than useless. It would be better to have asked "do you derank" because that's useful information. Asking a community that accuses each other of hacking, camping, tunneling, slugging, gen-rushing, tea bagging, etc. whenever they lose what they THINK other players do is incredibly pointless, because what the community thinks have very little bearing on what the community is actually doing.

But trying to convince him that he's wrong, when he IS wrong but doesn't realize it, is impossible because he's so certain of his own infallibility that it's hard to watch.

  23. If you use no mither you are tanking your mmr. I don’t think tru3 implies people spend hours purposefully losing. taking perks to handicap yourself will result in lower mmr believe it or not

  24. The entire video you seem to think that the issue is ONLY about content creators doing this, which is….. missing the point.

Even if only a significant minority of the player base is throwing games, whether it actually works for them or not, it is an issue because they are making an already garbage system EVEN MORE inconsistent.

Given that there are a bunch of people in this very comment section either testifying as witness to, or actively admitting to throwing games….I’d say we have at least some evidence of that significant minority.
