STRETCH RESOLUTION ON DEAD BY DAYLIGHT IS CHEATING! (IMO)

Stretch resolution shouldn’t be called stretched resolution as I feel it is disingenuous to what’s actually happening. By forcing the game out of native you are increasing your vertical FOV exponentially which allows you to see things you shouldn’t be able to see in native. Its an unfair advantage and is playing the game not as intended. You can use it all you want as the Devs are not doing anything about it, but stop lying about its advantages and manipulating the less informed about it.

  2. On Sea of Thieves people were altering files to get 120 field of view instead of the max 90. Everyone who did it swore up and down it gave no advantage. Going as far as making 10 minute videos defending their cheating. Well Rare finally removed it from the game and they have all gone silent. People love to justify their immoral behavior to themselves.

  3. both sides use it and it doesnt matter, when i play killer i would dominate a strech teams since im also over 5k god tier player, unless they are god level comp teams and they still have no more than 50% chance to win, says a lot about dbd btw, people afraid of strech is funny to me, there is plenty of sound bugs etc. some killers even use equalizer to reduce the chase music and increase footsteps and groaning sound etc.
u get advantage for sure for either survivor or killer when playing with strech, but its not game breaking advantage, u can still win against this, if the player isnt god tier then the strech wont help him as much as long as mmr will be a thing its fine.

  4. strech wont save u from spirit/hag and other small killers. also the advantage it gives wont help u against strong killer that can play around it and know that u can see him so he wont do stupid mindgames, u can still mindgame in most maps anyway. just drop the strech case, i think they should just give strech screen as option in the menu so everybody killers and survivors can use it and problem is solved. since they wont fix it anyway.

  5. In csgo, they do all sort of commands to change the graphics and get advantages and better pixels, such as: smokes easier to see through, strecht screen, grenade bind, map color, etc etc. Are they cheating?

  6. It's ridiculous how BHVR doesn't make the game compatible for ultrawide monitors because of "unfair advantage from higher fov", at the same time they ignore the existence of people using stretch screen cheat. This is BHVR.

  7. well its obvious you're gonna see a lot more when you're using 1080×1080, almost nobody uses that. i personally use 1600×1080 just because it looks better imo, try using that and u can see that it doesnt give any advantage, u still cant see over most loops just like native.

  8. "Stretched rez" is literally just cheating. I play on PS4, and I CAN TELL when they are using stretched rez, because there is no mind game, they never get caught up on loops or surprised when you hide your red stain. It feels like you are playing versus someone who can SEE YOU at loops, and its honestly frustrating. PC already has the advantage of mouse and keyboard, then people go and change the files so they can see your traps, changing brightness to give an advantage, linking powers/flashlights to mouse wheel. The list goes on. I'm sure there are PS4 cheaters too, but you really can tell when you are versing someone that has too much information, the game feels very off.

While I'm at it, I've had a theory for a while that some survivors use speed hacks, but only set it SLIGHTLY faster than normal. I cannot tell you how many times I've chased people only to wonder if they are hacking because they are moving slightly too fast for normal

  9. You get the same effect on a 1×1 monitor so I don't think that's cheating but more so abusing a bug when people do it for an advantage. Considering the devs have the capability to fix the bug this shouldn't happen.

  10. The funniest thing is the stretched res defenders are nowhere to be seen. They are speechless because there’s just so much proof
Edit: this is also why in a lot of tru3s games and he’s baffled as to how people are leaving gens well before he even gets there (regardless of terror radius) they are gone. Spine chill is used often but this is a whole different breed of advantage.

  11. Of course it is cheating…how's that different from using aimbot, wallhacks, speedhacks…etc. Well in my eyes the only difference is that streching your FOV is easier and not punishable with ban by devs. Personally I think the number of ppl using strech is too high and the devs worry that they would lose a lot of players if they removed this BS out of game and once for all acknowledged that it is cheating. Otherwise I dont see any other reason why they would keep this in game.

  12. I don't really keep up with high meta dbd because of how disappointing the devs have been the entire time about the whole thing. It seems like the coping mechanism people who use this will have is that "it removes horizontal FoV". If that's the case all I have to say is that vertical res is a strict advantage against 90% of killers, those 90% also containing the best ones. The 10% of killers where this is probably arguably more equal to horizontal are stealth killers with no terror radius like Myers or Ghostface, where having the wider field of view around different corners can help you stay out of sight. This does seem incredibly broken for looping though.

  13. This isn’t a good argument to take tru. Gaming is changing. People always look for better gear. So is it cheating if someone has better earphones? Maybe more expensive and faster internet? How about a more responsive mouse? Higher FPS on their monitor?

Should we tell all the nascar racers to all build in the same gear to help even the playing field? Lol. People like us buy larger screens for more immersion and enjoyment in gaming. The grannies still on cheap computers with small monitors need to evolve or die in this industry. A great wide screen monitor now is $200. Don’t take this argument man.

  14. Example at 6:30 is awful imo. You can still clearly see over the thing if you tilt the camera correctly on native or just move 4 inches to the left and see everything more clearly. If mate is being chased they can call that out so no need to have extra FOV, without comms you can move a bit around and probably get good information. You're also making it look ten times more difficult than it really is. I'd liked something like a chase at a jungle gym where it actually gives a big advantage, this here is a stupid reasoning for it being cheating, where the advantage barely means anything. Sorry to say, but im really disappointed with this poor excuse for evidence for why stretch is cheating.

I do believe you're trying to show the overall unfairness of stretch, but still, the chase part is where the biggest advantage comes in. The other stuff is small and unimportant to show.
