  1. I would think it might have to do with the keyboard setting? If it's in french-mode, it might be using the alt-code, but if it's in english-mode, it could be the regular apostrophe. The french use a lot of different types of apostrophes after all.

  2. This is what happens when you have those evil Canadian keyboard settings installed. You get some weird characters sneaking in when you accidentally switch to French mode.

  3. Total BHVR moment here. You would assume a game company be meticulous about that sort of things. Even if two characters look alike, not differentiating them could cause issues in the code. This is something that would surprise me from another company but since it's from BHVR I'm like "lol of fucking course they would make that mistake".

  4. BHVR is in montreal quebec. Some of these dude's keyboards are set in french or canadian french and the keys layout tends to change so they might be using that weird alt key but by just pressing something else in their keyboard config. Prolly no consistant pattern because they are a team and it's not always the same person naming those in the game.

  5. Well you see Scott, CLEARLY they're using ’ because it's extra curved which means it's extra fancy so Dragon’s Grip feels extra special, meanwhile Franklin's Demise is a perk made for plebs. Hope this help

  6. My guess is it has something to do with French keyboards and the French keyboard setting for an English keyboard, I'm thinking that one of the two, most likely the latter, uses the "numpad version" of the apostrophe and for whatever reason their search function looks for exact character ID
Edit: or buddys ' key broke

  7. It seems that some keyboard layouts on linux (couldn't find any on windows) have available normally under a key when using AltGr, so maybe some keyboard has it under a regular key even without that.
The thing is though, ' and should be interchangeable (since unicode 2.1), so clearly DbD devs fucked something up on top of someone having a weird keyboard

  8. Sounds like they were copy pasting information from different sources, and sometimes it would be raw text and other times it would preserve the formatting, depending on what the source of the copy was.
