In this DBD video we’re going to discuss the new anti face camping system recently added to DBD. The new system is suppose to punish killers for facecamping and although it technically does do that in a controlled environment. The reality is much different resulting confused players and bad gameplay habits being formed. So is this redundant system really worth keeping in the game?

Nah, it's just encouraging killers like Huntress, Wraith, Myer's, Ghostface, Pig, Slinger and Trickster to patiently wait near the hooked survivor. Far enough away not to trigger the unhook timer, but still close enough to get cheeky downs, trades or Mori's.

idk I think its kind of working- I used to get facecamped every 1-2 days, since it was implemented ive been facecamped once which was yesterday,, I do agree that people sometimes leave you when the killer is near knowing you can unhook, but 90% of people I play with are aware of how far the killer stands for it not to take effect and we need to do a trade
proxy camping has always been a thing and this isnt a solution to proxy camping- id say its successful for as much as it can be
I haven't noticed any reduction in camping since this system was put in place. And I have only seen someone unhook themselves once.
I hadn't thought this before… I have unhooked myself once since release and seen 1 other survivor unhook themselves. But, I actually agree that it is confusing! I think they should take your advice and make survivors die slower or show the anti-face camp bar to all other survivors on the HUD.
I think at the very least your teammates should be able to see your self unhook bar so they would know you're almost out and won't swarm to the hook and stop the process.

All this new mechanic did was create a new class of proxy campers and tunnelers.
One thing that I found is that if you managed you down another survivor near the hook and put them in front/near hook, the anticamp meter would not fill up at all even when the killer literally infront of you.
This usually happens when people tried to unhook while killer proxy camp then got down.
i think a big part of the reason you almost never see people unhook themselves is because it worked and no one is face camping anymore. I dont really see a fix for proxy camping in the current state of the game, maybe if the games win condition was different but that would probably change dbds identity too much
What happens to me is that the bar doesnt go up fast enough, so a teammate try to do a risk unhook pausing the bar. It ends up in a trade, saver getting downed, or struggle phase. The struggle is what occurs the most, we think the bar will go up in time so the killer "edges" it by going a bit far making you go to struggle because the bar gets up slower. If the bar isnt reliable survivors are "forced" to make dumb decisions wich leads to more 4k matches. I only escaped by myself once and got almost insta downed ( like a DS escape) because the borrowed time ends super fast. The system should bake the red bar get slower when on hook instead of letting people unhook themselves. Because essentially killers would get damaged in the overall match "gens" for 1 super slow hook kill. As it is right now he can still tunnel the player or get 2 downs for almost free

Twins also can abuse this as you can camp hook as victor which apparently doesn't count. Granted, you need to know how to aim as Victor but it's certainly nowhere near impossible. Plus Charlotte can just stand right outside and head immediately over when victor latches
i mean maybe add a aura to a camped survivor universal this way if the survivor is in a set amount of distance to the killer a aura starts to build up so this way if the killer stays near the survivor they will start to gather a entity aura that shows its self like a blinding light [not litteraly]
the problem is the devs are potatos think about this how long have we had 1 mode about gen repair id love to see a 3v1 chase mode where survivors simply need to survive x amount of time
it might incentivize not camping as you know the survivor can freely jump off but i havint really played the game recently the game for me got boring as its on kill or be killed and the gens really dont give much else to do im honestly trying to find a better game

We cant pretend like most campers do it out of frustration ,basement bubba ,insideous campers ,proxying just enough distance ,the other day a michael chose to slug out my whole team with 0 gens done and slugged for the whole bleedout ,theres plenty of killers that choose to be toxic for the sake of being toxic
Idk bro … I do agree that it's not the most effective way to do it but I can 100% tell you that making killers unable to grab survivors when they're unhooking someone didn't reduce facecamping at all in my experience, It simply made any unhook into a Trade rather than a guaranteed 2 hooks for the killer, The amount of times i got facecamped, sometimes even up to 5-6 times a day hasn't gone down at all for me, The only thing this anti-facecamping mechanic has done was make a lot of killers rely on Tunneling or Slugging rather than straight up Camping
Wraith also doesn't work with it, as Myers, and any non terror radius holding killer. Proxy camping has sky rocketed for me and I'd rather get facecamped, cause then I don't hold out hope for anything. Just stop regression of the survivor dying completely, then they have to choose, secure the kill in endgame but lose the game entirely while 3 others are on gens, or leave and get more hook stages. With this they could also place in a system that rewards killers for not hooking the same survivor twice in a row, no punishment if they do, to try and remove tunneling as well. That way the two most hated things (for me at least) will hopefully be less. I hate having a friend tunelled out at 5 gens, only for them to have to sit and wait 15 min or longer because the killer has no pressure while we manage to give him the run around. But yes, this system sucks, the range is too short in most cases, proxy has become prevelent and stealth killers aren't even worried about it.
And by the way, the reason they added this mechanic is because people wouldnt shut up about "oh bhvr doesnt do anything for killers facecamping" "just let the survivor unhook themselves", and it was so obvious that this sistem would only punish the weak killers while the good campers would still go unbothered. Another example of the comunity dont understanding the game in a fundamental level, just like MMR. People need to realise no amount of anti mechanics in geral is going solve the issue of survivors being unaware or bad.
It's good mechanic and fair, the fact it's rarely used doesn't mean it's bad.
It is much better than giving survivors another stupid tool they can abuse in a wider scenario.
I think you misunderstand what the term face-camping means. Its not anti-camping. Just anti-face camping. Works perfectly for anti-face camping. Was never designed to be anti-camping. You get two types of people. Ones that just complain and others that actually provide solutions.
I disagree in the idea of the system being removed. Agree with the slow bar progression.
I used to say "I don't which problem is worse, Camping or Tunneling" (slugging is too but less imo).
Now I think Camping is not a major issue. Still an issue but not a major one.
As a reward for not camping and an encouragement at the same time, killers could get a small haste for about 5-10 seconds once they hook a surv. Standing close means you wasted the haste. But i'm sure there are better ideas.

So let me get this straight. The survivors have received several anti-camping buffs, and people like you are still upset about it? Your half-baked argument has no footing whatsoever. This new system can be easily outplayed by either trading or sending out two people for the rescue (mechanics which encourage team play). Ever since the grabs were removed, any kind of skillful unhooks have become obsolete and unnecessary which has made the game more boring.
Why the heck is everyone complaining about Ultimate Weapon? This perk actually encourages players to utilize Calm Spirit, a perk which has been absolutely useless for the longest time. Not to mention, just because the killer knows where you are, doesn't mean shit if you're good at the game.
People keep crying about making the game easier and easier for the newcomers which automatically makes it more boring for the veterans. Stop trying to stupefy the game further.
It has done one thing. It allows the killer to unhook a survivor who has been abandoned by their team!
