The Artist is the new killer in dead by daylight, releasing November in Chapter 22 “Portrait of a Murder”. I genuinely think that this DBD Killer has more potential than Nurse, Blight or any other top killer in DBD. Here’s why!

  1. You should probably play on live and not just custom lobbies i've gone against alot of the typical comp teams on the ptb and they decently countered the ability especiallywith flash lights. Id say this was more your build set up with her map pressure. Unfortunately im going to expect her to get hard nerfed because of videos like this which is a shame because with the state of the game its just so easy to make gens fly as survivor and we apparently cant have killers that are good at stopping that. Oh well was fun to have a strong killer that doesnt have to play scummy to be good and actually requires skill for a little bit

  2. I am not gonna try this killer because I feel she will be nerfed into the ground. So i will wait till live servers. I think its about time killers have something going for them though. Survs can still do good vs her. This killer rewards skill, not just op for no reason.

  3. Here's my thing, the artist seems like an amazing anti-looper but she shifts the game in a bad direction. The best way to counter a killer who basically counters loops is to Shift+w away constantly. And now there is a new perk that lets survivors speed boost away after being hit even longer. So now they can get hit and book it to the healing boons and repeat. The new chapter seems awesome, but I worry it's going to shift the meta towards the most boring way the game gets played.

  4. She isn’t even off the PTB yet lol, nobody knows what she does pr how to play against her. Once she hits live servers for a couple of weeks she’ll be down into C or B tier with the majority of killers. Playing vs babies and memers on the PTB aren’t a good way to get a feel for anything

  5. The most obvious change that this killer needs is to remove having 3 crows. With only one crow she could still scout locations, just not 3 locations at once from anywhere on the map. With 1 crow she could still make loops almost impossible to play right, but at least the Survivors would have some chance of out playing. 3 crows, especially on such a low cool down, just makes her nearly impossible to counter and good at too many things.

  6. Artist is the newest s tier killer, but I think thats a good thing because if not for new good killers, we will just be stuck with the same 3 killers we get every match, nurse spirit and blight, and only one of them are very fun to play against. I think it would be better to just make more things strong, rather than nerf everything to balance the game.

  7. despite being a very good killer and having a decent amount of counterplay, BHVR will still undoubtably nerf her while keeping perks like dead hard and circle of healing the exact same

  8. "If Ruin is up a long time this killer is opressive"
But…doesn't that just mean it's Ruin's power, not the killers power? Nurse can do well without Ruin/Ruin gone early, Spirit can, Blight can.
If the Artists strength relies on Ruin being up, like your statement suggests, I can't agree with her having potentially more power than those three.

  9. The skill ceiling isn't as high as nurse and it rewards you much easier than her as well. It's like how old spirit was, not as much effort with the same results. I'm curious how/if they will tune her

  10. Artist has extremely good anti loop ability but she will not be a top tier killer. She lacks the one thing all top killers have that makes them so good which is any form of mobility. She is weak to simply holding forward, and cannot patrol the map quick enough to handle efficient gen repairs. She will be very oppressive in loops but at the highest level of play she will be rendered ineffective by how unbalanced the game is in favor of ultra efficient survivor play. Good at loops but no mobility. Shes another nemesis/deathslinger/pyramidhead. Probably the best among them but no better than A tier. Map mobility is a must for a killer to be S tier.

  11. she can literally block off shack instantly while not losing distance

i hope she gets nerfed before release who are we kidding though they wont

she shouldnt be able to literally place the crows as traps

you are just wrong Dowsey she doesnt take any skill like her crows are bigger than huntress hatchets go through walls tell you where they are after you hit them once through walls or even miss them by a bit cause killer instinct and can literally just place them to shut odwn any loop in the game including shack you put 1 crow on each door and window and the survivor literally has to just hold W
she also doesnt have to reload and has a way to quick cd

  12. Bruh I still think shes gonna be top A tier but if devs nerf killers like deathslinger or pig she's 100% gonna be nerfed, as a surv main its sad for me bc u only are gonna play still against range recharge nurse, ring spirit or ring blight sad reality

  13. So the nerf's I think she is going to get on launch Is extended cooldown on her powers 2 or 3 seconds longer and prob 25% more slowdown while her power is active. so when she holds her arm out to aim she will be slower. I hope that's it tho. if they do more they might just make her weak but rn it's all speculation
