Video got recommended to me. Completely agree with all your points, I’ve never been “that” person but would have become one if I kept forcing myself to play the game. A break is always needed, days or weeks long.
DBD alternative names this video:
– Murdered by Morning
– Di**head by Dinosaurs
– Down by Dawn
– Dreaded Breadsticks at Denny's
Some of these alt dbd names were fucking hilarious. "Dreaded Breadsticks at Dennys" was my favorite
It fills me with an unbridled happiness knowing you enjoy doing this
On my pos pc, only game that will run now is DbD, so I just give up 1st hook every single game for 5 years of the 7 I've played it. I just play now, only to ruin every one else's matches at this point as only Surv with sooo many 3v1s now. But ehh, I can't get another pc, so I sjut make others miserable just like YoGirlKillz on kick that I used to be friends with, that I found out in a pedophile/groomer in it's discord. Along with it's friend JinxMajik on twitch, a fellow groomer/pedo helper.
What you said about apex is true for me. It’s just bad and I tried forcing myself to play it. In the end I realized I didn’t like the game anymore and just quit
I mean recently my survivor games have been fine. If I have a dreadful match where I get angry at something in the game whether it be myself or something else I typically just stop playing for a few hours let me get over it then go back because then I won’t get tilted at playing a game. I also have a friend who quit dbd a long time ago and even up to last month he was still telling me to stop playing the game despite not having played it for years. I never understood that and didn’t take his word for it because he quite frankly is talking about a very different game from back then compared to now. We’re still friends obviously but I just never understood why people tell me to stop playing games they don’t like. Respect my opinions and I’ll respect yours
The MGK line was killer good!!!!
Kaiser I completely agree with you man. I once had this friend that was pretty chill about everything we we're playing DBD together with 2 other friends of ours we we're having a great time till he got tunneled out of the game back to back matches he suddenly got soured about everything talking trash about the game where it got to the point we had to kick him out of the lobby and our party chat. Let's just say me and my 2 other friends decided to play without him for the rest of the night
Healthy obsession: my boyfriend he's so cute and I love him
I’m just glad I had older siblings to teach me I can’t always win a game just because I want to and people aren’t gonna just go easy on be just because I’m new or inexperienced
(I just like gaming)
Love the Vids Kaiser
I used to be hella addicted to apex, although I didn't have as many hour it honestly hurt my soul to keep playing. The worst part is that I felt like I HAD to stay because of the money I spent on it. (I know spending money on a free game, cringe) But I got out and I've been legitametly more happy since I quit. Anywho moral of the story is don't be afraid to quit or somethin' idk.
Sometimes it's good to be a free spirit and have relaxed nerves and just play the game with pleasure and without having any regrets or anger (and every now and then as a killer, turn the audio setting to silent and let your favorite music or playlist run Leaving it in the background really gives you better motivation and you can even play better.)
Regardless of whether you win or lose, enjoy the moment and stay healthy.
I'm still learning to control my temper in DbD, I have to say it is a bit of an uphill battle. What with how buggy the game is right now, every second, third or fourth killer playing like they're in comp and a $500 gift card is on the line if they don't get a 4K, high ping on both sides, unaware teammates, tunneling and 3-gen camping killers. So I do get a little bit spicy the longer I play and stream, that said, I have learned to pull myself back from the edge slightly trying to think about what I did wrong and how I could have played better etc.
Anyway, in regards to the comunity, Im hoping the majority of them do learn to settle tf down and juat remenber its a game. But its hard, when different people have diffeent interpritations of "fun".
I dont think the obsession argument applies to DBD. I think only games where you can invest significant time for a "payout" can qualify as an obsession for example; League of Legends Challenger Rank, Apex, CSGO, etc. Dead By Daylight is not a game that you can show your progress, its more of a boot up and play a few rounds then do something else. When people shit on devs thats just gaming culture, calling it obsession is a stretch imo.
I wish the game was played more casually instead of being mostly toxic or sweaty players
I dont want to feel like i need 7000 hours to play a bad killer at a ok level or only being able to play high tier ones
I think the obsessive nature of DBDs community is mainly due to it's unmatched cast of horror icons. How many games exist where you can play as Sadako, Pyramid Head, and Freddy Krueger? It's cool, but the devs are so absurdly incompetent but there's so much potential. You can't help but wish it was better, because at this point there probably won't be another game like it in terms of size and legacy. I do think people definitely have an unhealthy obsession and are way too toxic and constantly complain, but it's not like all of the complaints are totally unjustified either. It's just sad to see such a botched product full of so many incredible horror series coming together
What you said about that 1 friend who ruined it for everybody resonance with me I remember 1 time I was playing rainbow 6 siege and I had an absolute phenomenal game and my other friend did really bad and just could not stop complaining about how bad he was when I was talking about how amazing I did ruin the mood
have to agree 100% with what you say here, I myself have been guilty of being too obsessed with the game at one point not to the extreme but enough that i personally was not enjoying it like I once was so i stepped back and to this day i do not spend as much time focused on this game, I have started enjoying more of other games like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last Of Us etc etc where i able to chill on my own have fun and rethink life choices.
I started to come back to DBD but not as much as before and I do not care about grade blah blah god i was ash 1 on reset lol…For me the game itself was fine, sure it had issues just like every game has but it was not what I hated, I hated the above obsession people had and how it turned them all into people that could not see past their own short sightedness, and delusional fears, that festered into a range of quite inappropriate behavior such as homophobic and transphobic slurs, kys comments, racism and generally wanting to see the world burn, and that made it unfun for me, not to mention grouping with people that just could not understand the concept of the word "Fun" and that fun is also subjective. Losing is not the end of the world we will live another day…..
Anyway i digress, in every game and in every facet of life obsession can be quite harmful to ones self, mentally, emotionally and socially and sometimes we all need to stand back a little refocus and ask ourselves is this really who i am and is this truly fun for me? Perspective is key and i also feel a lot of man childs lack the maturity to see any of this unfortunately.
Oh and the "Us V's Them" mentality where some actually believe its personal against them, and still the bizarre outlook on teabags and how sensitive some get over it….Its a game not the UN
Stay sexy see ya in the fog
* BTW Dead By Teabags
As a long Time player with over 10,000 hours in dbd take breaks. It’s good for you.
when it comes to the players that pay attention to the game but don't play it I think it's a little bit of envy. They can't stand seeing other people have fun with a game they grew to hate so they need to bring others down to their level.
Hearing some people complain about flashlights being killswitched ‘cause of the exploit and them saying It WaS ThE mOsT fUn ThEy HaD iN yEaRs. Nah, that’s called burnout, my dudes.
I’ve been playing less DbD in general ‘cause of the Bloodpoint bonus keeps going to Killer when I’m off work and I’m exhausted from playing killer. Sure I could cue up to survivor but the wait times are pretty bad in my region.
You are damn correct that burnout players ruin it for everyone else.
One of the problems is also that a lot of people are obsessed with seeing this game as a competitive game. Honestly once I learned to chill out, to not care about tbagging and the 4k and to just occasionally goof around in my matches, regardless if I'm winning or losing, the game became much more enjoyable to me.
I literally take a month off if I get upset. I’m not too worried. I just wait for my internal storm to pass
I made a comment on a previous video about the very issue of even trying to have an opinion in this community. You are always and will always be met with an accusation of being bias or prejudice. The reason this doesn’t happen in other competitive games is because you are forced to play every side of those games. Siege you have to play defense and attack in order to finish a match. Imagine if you were able to queue for just defense in siege or just attack, it would have the same issues the dbd community has today. People whining and crying about things they believe are op and broken because they don’t understand them. Such little children in this community.
Just incase anyone here is looking for another game to play i find that payday 2 or l4d2 are good replacements to dbd as they focus more on teamwork instead of the us vs them mentality that is so rampant in dbd
at the moment am taking a break as in general dbd Isn't fun for me right now, as I play mostly survivor as a majority of my games and the amount of times one person dies and someone disconnects and a bot takes their place and throws the match is really common in solo que. the placement of 1 teammate into a bot can legit throw the whole match and don't get why this change was implemented. it can also be a big fuel for the us vs them mentality as survivors most likely are frustrated like I am when it happens that they have a good run one person dies, someone dcs after the dead person and boom, game is thrown. then likely more discourse of how the game favors either side comes up and its a downward spiral. hopefully the devs can at some point revert the bots as they don't really help cause healthy gameplay or really help the mentality of the game get any better.
