Had to watch the video twice, raging about the crybabies in this community gives good health
I feel like more people should treat dbd like they treat Getting Over It. As a rage inducing game you should take frequent breaks from.
Too many people have βSkill issue denialβ in this community..
As a survivor main i can agree i have zero right to talk about balancing but what i can say is the solo que experience for survivors is abysmal i just started playing this game religiously a couple months ago and i hate solo quing and me being the only one doing gens and i either have survivors doing nothing or a 3 man trying to troll the killer and failing miserably at it then when i finally get a good game it doesnt matter because guess what im gonna have another 2 to 3 games of awful teammates potentially
I main demo so I never really get any hate messages, or at least there very rare. However when I play survivor or decide to hop off my first main demo and try to enjoy my second main knight I get hate messages at the end of every single game
Lots more people need to see this. You have nailed this one I 100% agree with everything. And I myself am a killer main and I have considered a survivor being toxic by flashlight saves, body blocking and all the rest but I try to have a mind set now adays not to win but to have good chases and a few hooks. Iβve had so much more fun playing like that.
This video is painfully real. Too painfully real.Tthere's almost only bitching in the DbD community with the exception of a couple of good snowflakes
when i first started playing dbd i played killer, but i hated the killer community so much that i did what i never thought i was going to and switched to survivor full time, in my opinion killers complained about literally anything that wasn't down right detrimental to survivors and the worst part is they have the ability to completely ruin games for everyone in the lobby by camping, slugging, tunneling, or dc'ing if they are even slightly pissed off or their fragile ego is hurt. just giving this input bc youtubers tend to talk like there's equal bad eggs on both sides and as someone who came in a couple years ago now, with no bias if not slightly biased AGAINST survivors, i have completely jumped ship because of how much i've come to hate killer twitter discourse in comparison to survivors. big thing i see is survivors tend to argue why their perks should be buffed… killers tend to argue both that and why any good survivor perk should be nerfed. so yea forgive me if i dont instantly wanna hear killers out about made for this when this is like the 30th perk in the past year they said was broken and needed to be nerfed until it was completely ruined cough cough coh
I love 3gen skull merchant, she is the personification of devour hope.
I'll go ahead and say this on my end (Switch killer player, trying to be the best Trapper from the platform, still got a wayyyyyyyyys to go).
Yes, more often than not you see killers losing their games that are winnable because of one bad chase they refused to drop because they felt the survivor wronged them in some way. Entity knows I've done this too. Yes, there are dumb things in the game, but there doesn't need to be this massive gap between people who like survivor and people who like killer. If you're gonna make a case for something, see it from both perspectives to get the fully story and THEN bring that case to the table. I know I'm not perfect, I know I find the survivor role not as engaging as the killer role because doing generators is like doing taxes, and I know there are games I throw away once it's over and I reflect on it. But I'm not gonna pretend like I know the ins and outs of the game when I haven't explored everything I can do with the characters I want to play or figured out how to mindgame every playable tile.
Do I get frustrated? Yes. Do I want to try and balance this game myself? No, I'd suck at it lol. All I can do is voice concern about things but that's the extent of it. There's only so much the dev team can fix about my own gameplay experience. The rest of the gap needs to be filled in by the player themselves.
3:52 that halite joke was so damn smooth, barely caught it XD
My favorite gay YouTuber
I joined dbd proper a month ago and while I solely play killer I just do not care when a survivor body blocks, pallet/flashlight saves, and even use perks like made for this. The only game mechanic I hate is when the survivors just flashlight me one after another to bully me. That and teabag at the exit gate
I have put a hefty amount of time into both sides. I have some wild opinions of course (I personally don't think doc is too bad to go against most of the time) and this is the game that taught me what harmful opinions are. When someone says "[Garbage balance decision] should be a thing" I don't sit there afraid people in the party will tell me I'm silencing opinions, and I will straight up call them a dumbass with a skill issue to their fucking face.
Opinions exist of course, but there's a difference between "Yeah I'm not a dog person" and "All dogs should be turned into meat by the Chinese" one is your preference, the other is a perfect example of when "it's my opinion" doesn't cut it.
Mostly survivor main here. I understand that Made For This is overpowered but if 90% of games are just sloppy butcher, NOED, Devour Hope, and Jolt i'm gonna use it. They go low, I go lower baby. Also, I understand that tunneleing/camping/whatever is all part of the game, blah, blah , blah but it feels terrible to go against. I deserve to be mad if I get instantly camped out of the game and have to watch my friends play a 3 man game.
i agree with everything except for made for this. imo its just not op, its a good perk no lie, but its not op, and thats just my take on it. i dont even use it so its not like im rooting for it because its my main perk, i just genuinely dont see the issue with it, i think it brought in some fun builds. but the tunneling and camping thing i totally agree on and have been saying. if theres 2-1 gens, the killer has no pressure and everyone but the person off hook is healthy, then yea, they need to tunnel and thats fine. i only get mad when theres still 3+ gens, other people on death hook, other injured people, and they decide to hard tunnel right off the bat. camping yes camp at end game when the gates are opened thats literally all you can do there is zero reason to leave the hook by that point, camping at any other point in the game (except if theres a swarm of survivors around) is not cool.
I used to propose a lot of balance changes but I'm honestly tired. Half of the time I get accused of wanting free wins, despite the fact that I play both sides and have rather extensive knowledge of game mechanics. I don't want free wins, I want both sides to have equal chance to win.
The only thing i complain about is how fast gens go, matches only last about 6 minutes when you get a swf 4 stack genjock squad, and by then id be strugglin to get a single kill xD Id be two hooks in and only got a good handful of use out of my perks, and id be down to one gen left having to go back and tend to my babies and playing peekaboo with survivors running to dead zones (For killer, zones with no gens at all, an empty area), I play like that too- but as killer it can be miserable
I play both sides equally, and speaking abt balance, I really think that killer perks are fine now. As a survivor I don't mind any of them, i think they fine. But survivor perks…. Stupid mft and adrenaline, and all this endless endurance meta is infuriating. I get it, survivors need ways to SURVIVE, and that's fair. But with nowaday perks I fell almost helpless on killer even if I played well, and that sucks.
And yeah, as a killer I don't blame flashies or locker saves, I don't blame survivors for good looping and I don't ask them to let me win for free. I understand that all shit that happens with me is my own carelessness and stupidity, and I have noone blame, but myself.
BUT. As much as I never ask survivors to let me win, I HATE when they already won, but they need to bully you afterwards. Like, you got your flashy safe, why do you need to wait till blindness is gone to teabag me in the face? Why do you need to blind me multiple times afterwards, you already SAVED YOUR TEAMMATE.
I had one game not so long ago. Gens were done in 5 minutes, I had one hook, and I accepted my lost, opened the gates and started to llok around for some pallets and walls to break. Survivors not only didn't go out. All for if them ran after me tried to get my atention. I KNOW, I can't down any if them, I KNOW, that's it's gonna be bodyblock train to the gates, so I ignored them. BUT THEN, one of them started to point to the hook. It happens with me sometimes. Survivors get pity and let me hook and kill them. I taught that MAYBE that's the case.
I downed and hooked him only for second survivor to unhook him right in my face. Mind you, it was after hook grabs were removed. So I downed the second survivor, first, the hooked one, start to run away, and while I'm in weapon animation, third survivor come to me, and use For the people+buckle up comvo on downed survivir right in my face. And after that forth healthy survivor came to finish bodyblock.
And THAT'S what I hate. When I already lost, WHEN I ADMITTED IT, when I opened the gates for you, you still want to trick me into your perk combo JUST FOR FUN, just to bully already lost side. That was not abt survival that was about mocking "baby trash killer". And that is behavior that I hate the most
hi ! I think you're just in weird communities, personnally never heared even half of what you said. I'm not terminally online though.
I dnt find the 3% haste an issue, I find that it does that n give u endurance which is ridiculous n no need, just remove the endurance n I'm fine with the perk I think l, n that bloodlust removal ummm maybe the other 2 tiers don't need to b there but tier 1 does, u cnt control rng of maps n tile spawns next to each other so bl is needed π
It's a core problem with how the game is designed. People are making their own rules because the game forces people to feel like victims which they hate, so they impose all these embargoes to make things more 'fair.'
DBD is a bloated mess of a game. I'm surprised how popular it still is to be honest.
This man's energy is π€
My biggest pet peeve with the community is that so many players act like jerk in the game, but when you go on Reddit or the website formerly known as Twitter everyone acts like theyre a sophisticated society.
More like sociopathic society amirite
As a Survivor main, honestly camp it up, lose 3 gens for that one hook y'know? The only part I agree with is that nobody is having fun during a camp session. Hooked Survivor isnt having fun, Killer standing in one spot isn't having fun, and the team sitting on gens isn't having fun. Camping is more of a BHVR problem than a Killer problem, they've been trying for a while to disincentivize it but haven't really been successful in their endeavors.
Omg why did you say you hate otz and that he should die!!!!1! π‘π‘π‘πΏπ‘
I played against you twice as skull Merchant the other day and I let you escape on RCPD. I hopped over to your live and you were pretty chill. Thanks for not being a toxic douche like the 2 Jills in our first game
Yeah it gets REALLY fucking annoying when the friends I play with complain about every single thing a killer does, because they are survivor mains and they literally never play killer, while I am there thinking how stupid some of those changes are because I actually play both sides almost equally. I heard them say things like: genrush doesn't exist, trickster is op,accusing everyone of hacking, that there are no way of countering tunnel or camping, that they only nerf survivors while killer always have the good stuff blah blah blah….
Oh yeah and I forgot the fact that people think if a killer won too fast or someone dcs, they are obligated to give you hatch.
As a Killer main, can can confirm that body blocking, pallet rescues and flashlight annoy me, BUT its part of the game. So if they want to do that, fine, since its in the game.
also BUT if i dare to use any gen regression perk, aura reading or scourge hook, im a ''dirty meta perk user'' (for whispers yeah for sure) while these little assmaggots use made for this and every perk under the sun to achieve an easy victory..
i love and HATE this communinty so much, so many little fragile survivor mains that get pissed when they lost but spam ''GG EZ GET REKT'' in endgame chat.
What continues to frustrate me beyond belief is how its always the most flowchart windows of opportunity mft + hope boosted fucking swf only predropper brainless survivors that are so toxic. Even as someone who has been predominantly playing survivor its never exactly been difficult for me to understand how frustrating the killer role can be, and now having recently dedicated a lot more of my time to learning killer I'm actually more of the opinion that survivors are much less considerate of the killer's role than a killer is for survivors. Although that being said, playing killer I think might just feel a lot worse in the moment, since well there's 4 survivors, so the likelihood of encountering toxicity from your opposing role is simply just higher. But you know, I still do sometimes get a glimpse of how killers react to me playing against them and usually they're a bit unpleasant too – shit like "this nea is an annoying piece of shit" or "ugh I really hope she doesn't think she's good at the game" – VERY anacdetol tangent here but still it upsets me that when I genuinely play fair, playing just to fucking SURVIVE funilly enough) – I mean what is so toxic about actually playing well, like a sick FOV tech in a dead zone, or a well timed deathslinger dodge, or greeding a huntress correctly – I know this is a pretty masterbatory vent here but SERIOUSLY, it just feels like this community on most levels is very closed minded and unwilling to contribute or let alone learn what makes the game fun for both sides.
I guess to paraphrase what I'm saying here is that (from my experience) it'll be the gigachad absolute 5head killers that will respect the survivor side and vice versa (usually). People who are good at the game understand the fun of the game, for both sides, not all (looking at you feng mains), but there is a correlation.
This problem here is exactly why Otz seems to have given up on fighting so much for the balance of the game as well. People just refuse to play both sides enough which leads to skewed views and I have experienced this with one of my friends, actually.
My friend doesn't play killer. Had a nasty experience during an early Pinhead match where survivors BM'd like hell (pretty much ever infuriating move in the book you can do against a baby killer) and that was where she decided to stop playing the role altogether.
I play both roles somewhat equally. Depending on my mood it'll skew one way or another, but equal enough to know that survivors have their own tactics to save teammates (that are infuriating to face as killer when they work but immensely satisfying to pull off) and killers have their own tactics to salvage, otherwise, 'lost' games (mainly tunneling, camping, maybe slugging.)
We often hop on survivor games and eventually we got in a mild "argument" over tunneling. This is where I realised that people who lack the view from the other side will always find these tactics scummy. No matter what.
Good thing is, my friend actually listened to me when I told her the other side's perspective over our game. But a good chunk of people in DBD will not understand this. I still see people in Otz's stream ask him why he's tunneling / camping when he's in situations where there's 1 gen left and no one's even dead on hook. To some survivors, regardless of what logic you throw at them, tunneling, camping and slugging will always be toxic. Regardless of the game's pace or what they've done in the match.
Some killers will forever believe altruistic plays are toxic. And those people? It's not worth getting in an argument with.
I took a break from DBD for a while and when I came back, I started to have fun with the game. I began to understand why killers tunnel and camp and I began to understand survivor mindset behind all the risky saves and cheeky things they do. Not BM'ing, just playing altruistically. And if I'm honest? I've been having a lot of fun with DBD since that mindset began to settle in. Once you stop taking this game so seriously and whining about everything? Turns out it's actually pretty damn fun.
Some DBD players legit just need to take a break and do something else for a while. It used to upset me how some of these people act but nowadays I just think it's more sad than anything. I remember Otz saying something like: "Imagine if you were playing in front of an audience and they started acting like that. Who do you think people would meme on? The guy yelling slurs or you for playing the game?" and I think a lot of people need to have a long look at themselves.
End of the day, DBD is a party game where you get to play as/against your favourite slasher and behind every survivor and every killer is a player who we have no idea what their life has been like. Or their day.
Being competitive is fine. If you want to hop on the game and sweat your ass off in a SWF or play Blight with Alc Ring + Compound33? Fine. Play however you want. That's not the issue. 'Sweats' are in every game and they always will be. But at the very least have good sportsmanship about it. Have some respect for the person at the other end of it. Lose with dignity and win with dignity too.
Sorry for the long comment, I don't expect anyone to read it but I wanted to give my two cents on this since you sounded so passionate in your vid.
TL;DR: DBD is a wacky party game before anything else. Relax, go outside, do whatever you need to do to realise that.
It's almost like the smash bro community, a party Game forced to be competitive by its players π’
Before I say anything, ggs wp from the nemesis lmao. And now for the video, I completely agree. The dbd community is soo entitled and complain about qlmost everything. Every day I always have one or 2 salty idiot message me saying I'm shit or being an entitled, salty rat just because I tunneled them or camped or the best one by playing fair like the dbd community always find something to complain. Both sides are bad at it but holy survivor mains take it to the next level all the time and its ridiculous. I really hope the dbd playerbase as a whole can just grow up and accept the loss and gg go next cause at the end of the day its a video game not a one million dollar tournament.
you made a video calling out both sides and gave a strong arguement on how and why you feel people just want a free win, clearly a killer main. (joke btw)
Your last joke and the Legend of Dragoon menu theme are just the cherry on this video, well met and great vid!
