The Early Game Rework | A Dead By Daylight Concept

In Dead By Daylight the ‘Early Game’ is crucial for both sides. Currently the random nature of spawning can lead to a wide variety of scenarios, with some being a source of frustration for players. Today I want to present a concept that would seek to make the spawning and ‘Early Game’ more consistent in hopes of reducing potential player frustration.

I produce these videos in hopes of inspiring some discussions around the topics in question. The Dead by Daylight community is full of passionate fans with brilliant ideas. With these videos I simply hope to add to the discussion and perhaps provide a point from which other people’s ideas can branch out. As always I ask people to keep these discussions civil, no amount of insults will change a persons mind.

Many thanks to my friends who helped me in obtaining clips for this video.

  1. Hey ! I got maybe a funny idea for Vigo's shroud : You spawn in the spawn zone of the killer. This can be a really risky gambling : Either the killer can go to the other spawn location right at the start, and you would have a really good chance of breaking a potential 3-gen right at the start, or you could get spotted really early, making the first down quicker and further from the rest of your team. This could be also interessing for bold survivors who want to go in chase, but by doing so you're warning the killer that you're potentially a really good looper, and it could choose freely to ignore you. This could be pretty fun, but by being a very rare option not something that would be in every other match, so it wouldn't be meta either. What do you think about that ?

And I wanted to say you that you're doing an amazing job ! I wanted too to start a "rework channel", and I would like to know if it could be possible to do "collaboration" with big brackets where we discuss about our ideas of rework, and try to perfect them even more !

Continue like that, I'm seriously loving your work ❤

  2. The concept seems really interesting but i have a lot issues with the spawn zone A and B:
First Pinhead, his box spawns pretty much in the further point between both him and all the survivors, so he has already an idea of where they might be.
As much as i hate the "competitive" scene of this game, this might become boring and stagnant in the long run.
The offerings you reworked to me seems like they are a throw offering or something, because you are letting the killer know where you will spawn, can you imagine fast killers like Billy? They would have Lethal pursuer basekit 😅

  3. I have thought about the shrouds offering recently and came up with two totem related ones

    Shroud of Dullness (Rare)
-Start the trial next to a dull totem.
    – if none would be available then this offering is rejected and returned.
    – personal
    – secret
(has a secret priority system that prios people with boons then people with totem perks then people without anything)

This one would be so useful for boons, and it ignores zones so its useful even without boons or other totem related things

    Shroud of Fire (Rare)
-Start the trial next to a hex totem,
-if none are available then a dull totem is turned to a hex totem with no effect( not sure how this will affect: two can play, plaything, noed or the knight perk)
    -secret
(This offering happens before the coin flip and can force a coin to one side)

Can help reduce the rng with hexxes, and allows trapper, hag, SM or the machine that wasn't programmed to harm the crew to trap totems really early and its useful even without hexxes

  4. Very interesting shroud offerings. I do have one question though. How would they interact if the killer and survivors used them at the start of the match? For example, the one that the killer has that makes all the survivors spawn as far away from the main bldg as possible then a survivor uses the one to be in the main bldg getting used at the same time? Who would have priority? Or would they both still work, meaning that the one survivor still spawned there and the other three do not? 🤔🤔
