The main problems as far as I can see is that vs. swf the guards can be taken away from you just like Victor from Charlotte – so basicly you can end up being just a M1 killer with no power for the whole duration of the hunt. In public matches he is great zoner and can be strong, but he still needs buffs.
The important thing to notice when you're chasing with a guard is that it will follow exactly survivor pathing. So, as the killer, you must guard the other paths to exit the loop, forcing a double back from the survivor. They'll either run into you, be hit by the guard or run in the open. To be optimal as Knight is to always be in a position that allows you to follow a survivor leaving the loop. The guard is the one running the loop, not you, who is going from the outside of the loop, on the side that leads to the center of the map. Good survivor will run too the outskirt of the map to waste your time, so his TTK is still quite bad, but he gets scary at loops if you begin to be unpredictable about sending guards or not (just like baiting crows with Artist is often the play against good players). HF mate !
They need to start chasing immediately when in the radius. Not go where the survivor was then start chasing…
The iron Maiden comment was hilarious. I had a guy tell me that Hubris was too OP with spirit fury and I told him the obvious counter play of pre dropping pallets and he said "No I like to stun the killer" Like, dude… what do you want?
in term of chase then yes knight is weaker
but in term of gen control knight is better cuz He can send a jailer wt a full gen regress build + add more time to the patrol mode = that gen go brrrr

That is so stupid! The Killer's kit should NOT, in itself, offer counter play.. run through the flag to go faster!? STUPID!
2:20 perfectly represents why I took a year long break from Dead by Daylight despite playing it on release in 2017. Being a Killer main really feels like being the black sheep in the community, it's tough man.

Fun fact. If you're upstairs of a building and the guard spots you, they will teleport up there. But if you immediately vault and go down the guard will be stuck up there, and until they find a way to get down, the chase will time out lol
I disagree on the knight being a weaker artist
As killer main who mains artist I will admit thou I think overall her abilities do better but the knights ability is overall stronger when it works / is active
The weakness of artist r birds at close range it’s very inconsistent, next the long range hit is what she’s good for but that takes a lot of skill using to judge half across the map and ect , plus she’s has to walk to the person she hits with birds or can’t even commit , next she has several maps thst r bad for her such as , swamp , farm , and rpd , and even mid witch also if the team brings flashes she’a fucked also there r more ways to counter the birds with dodging and ect
The knights main use is for when your super close for example survior try’s to loop , u let your guard go it’s almost 100% guarantee to from there the night has 3 option 2v1 , or let the guard waste survivor time , but the guards only weakness is the flag but even then it waste time of several seconds old dead hard extended the chase on average about 13 seconds obviously can be much more , but this killer is gonna have a ability that does that to survior just a few seconds less prob around 7 -10 if people try to get the flag , the other strength is u can’t heal if he hits u with the guards u half to run period and pallets and flashlights won’t save u

Artist is more a long range , offense type , that has some aura reading
Where the knight is more defense, area control , with a bigger aura reading radius
That running through the flag to get the speed up and endurance is fucking nonsense. There's no reason for that. Just hand holding at its finest

I predropped every single pallet on the map against this Killer yesterday (while not in chase). It really ruined his ability to use the phantoms effectively. I mean, there's no use dropping them while he's behind you because you will be screwed
Had someone tell me "Just cut off the survivor" like m8, how tf do you intercept someone running directly away from you every time you use your power? Knight is weak af right now
I think Tru3 and most people are jumping on the bandwagon that Knight's just an anti-loop killer way too quickly.
I beg to differ that's the case.
Let's say you just got 1 person on the hook and there's three gens left (not out of the ordinary for a efficient team scenario).
Well, one person is temporally out on the hook, then someone's gotta' save them, which makes two people on gens currently.
Let's say you have Discordance and they're both on the same gen with Prove Thyself, so you get the info and go there.
Well, in a normal scenario, you wouldn't really be able to chase someone and prevent the gen from finishing BOTH at the same time, you'd have to choose one and commit.
If you go after one of the two, the other survivor comes back to the gen and may finish it; if you camp the gen so it loses progress, the two survivors can split up on different gens further away and arguably do more damage this way.
With Knight, you can send a guard to one of them and chase the other, effectivelly making it so NO ONE IS IN A GEN during this, however short, period.
To me, that's…kind of huge. In a way.

It's not gonna win you matches by itself, an action like that…
Consistently doing actions like that with your power, however, I do believe may be something very good and out of the ordinary for survivors to deal with.
I think the biggest fix for knight we need at this point is a slight speed buff on the guards, nothing too insane. Starting at the end of their radius closest to the survivor would be nice but I feel like that would cause just enough imbalance in their state to make him unfair; it would just be a free hit essentially.
I think the Knight and his power are my favorite killer and power, in concept at least, but I also really enjoy doing well with him. But in practice, it does need a little added umph to be better
I truly dont understand how anyone can say this isnt the worst killer in the game by a longshot. These fuckin devs have no hope
