Dead By Daylight has just released its latest DLC, the Hour of the Witch, which added a new survivor and some new perks to the game however there have been a handful of new bugs that have come to the game along with the new update such as infinite loading screens, the Circle of Healing perk being disabled, and a few other things. On stream the other night my friend and I working talking about the bugs and the players response to them, and had a laugh because we discussed the TRUTH about bugs in DBD! #DeadByDaylight #DBD

  1. This is just something to keep in mind moving forward when you encounter bugs in any game, not just Dead By Daylight. In regards to DBD it is in a better place than it used to be due to the new "Kill-Switch mechanic" so they can disable bugs until they are patched.

  2. We understand that it’s difficult to code this kind of stuff and it’s often not a simple fix. However, what we find unacceptable is that they don’t take nearly enough time and effort to QA test stuff and fix bugs prior to a release. They stick to their crazy schedule no matter how bad of a state it’s in so they can keep raking in that money. The Twins chapter was a perfect example of that. Gotta get that Christmas money right? This game stands out as the most consistently unpolished/unoptimized/buggy game I have ever played.

  3. It’s not just the loading bug. There’s also a bug that I’m experiencing when I play both Survivor and Killer. Playing survivor, when I’m performing certain actions like dropping pallet or getting unhooked, I just can’t move at all and I get punished for it. Killer on the other hand, I see a survivor not moving at all and they all of a sudden disappear, making me lose every time. I play on Console and the games been unplayable for me. I can’t be bothered playing the game at this point.

  4. Feels like they dont test the patches enough. There are many games out there w/o any bugs! Crazy right!? But lord forbid we shit talk the devs of dbd when they Fuck up over and over and over and… you get the point

  5. Well, I just hope we get compensation in shards lmao, the state is bad but in a way it's also funny to me because everytime a bug happens everyone just stops moving and we're all so confused it's adorable

    I always wonder why Overwatch is so bug-free compared to Dead By Daylight

    Overwatch runs on it's own custom engine made by a huge company

    Dead by Daylight was originally made on unreal engine by a small indie dev team. Starbreeze was originally it's publisher. Now behaviour has hundreds of employees, and has bought it's publishing rights. The team is completely different but it's foundation is the same (theoretically)

    They never anticipated the success to go on for nearly 22 chapters i bet. Chapter 2 was a huge turning point.

    I wonder if it would be worth rebuilding the game.
