  1. If you have any insights, opinions or answers regarding the box buff, be sure to leave a comment. This change seems to lean far more towards an apparent, intentional buff as opposed to the by-product of a few percent that came from having 5 boxes.

Alternatively, if you wanna come and chat live, I stream every day, starting 10pm UK/5pm EST: http://Twitch.tv/CMWinter

  2. Well, you are not the only being really bad at math, been honest I don't understand anything :/ the thing is, that I don't catch what does the searches means

  3. For the buff, you can only have 1 maximum per game that get the trap off the first time since we cannot have a survivor search 5 times. If you have 2 people who get it off first, you would have to require at least 1 survivor search 5 boxes, which is not allowed.

Should note this is for Base Kit power without adding more traps

  4. Since 4 traps are the most common, here are the 4 outcomes that I could come up with:

    4431
    4422
    4332
    3333

Obviously there is no order for when they’ll get the 4 or when they’ll get the 1 but this is the easiest to interpret. Feel free to comment another combo or if you see a flaw

  5. This is definitively progress but there is just one thing I don't get and wanna see answered :

If it HAS TO be 12 searches
, does that mean that when I bring Amanda's Letter the 2 people I trap will have to go through 6 searches?

Logically it makes sense, 12/2=6 lol

But if so that would make that addon pretty powerful compared to how it is now, since in theory half of the survivors will be spending the time going through boxes instead of repairing gens
so you'd only have 2 people on gens lmao

    There are 5 boxes now

    Searching 1 takes 8 seconds

And let's say it takes 15 seconds going from box to box

    8×6 = 48 seconds spent on boxes

15×6 = 90 seconds spent going from box to box

    So that's a total of 138 seconds (2m18s)

2 mins of having to deal with only 2 survivors AND you can see auras within 16m… That sounds kinda broken ngl lmfao

  6. From what I'm gathering from the comments CM, I see you being somewhat more at ease when tracking players. You know as soon as a player removes one on their first try on your left side of the screen, you'll know that at least two 4 searches are left so you can pressure the players more comfortably knowing that they'll take longer to remove it.

  7. In the same thread you were reading, someone did the maths for every permutation, but it boiled down to:
    1 attempt: 9.7% (12/124)

    2 attempts: 19.4% (24/124)

    3 attempts: 32.2% (40/124)

    4 attempts: 38.7% (48/124)
More traps increase the odds of 1-attempt traps, less traps decrease the odds right to a physical impossibility of 1-attempt traps – plus, with 4 traps, it's almost impossible not to have a 4-attempt trap set.

  8. With 4 traps then if I understand this correctly than there is only one combination of someone getting the trap of in 1 search which is 1 3 4 4 which forces 2 survivors to search 4 times

  9. best case for one box searches.
with 4 traps only one person can ever get a trap off first try.
with 5 traps only one person can ever get a trap off first try
with 6 traps two people can get a trap off first try, however those other 4 would have been guaranteed max searches.

    –thought process vvvv
it's easier for me to think in "charges" instead of "searches"
at the start of the match, the pig has 12 charges. each time the pig places a trap, a number of charges is chosen, between 1 and 4. that number is how many boxes the survivor will search.

i'll start with "the first trap costs one charge." (keep in mind that after the first number is chosen, the last three digits can come in any order, there's only a few different ways to make 12 after the first trap is set.)

1 3 4 4 (so there will be 11 charges left after 1 is spent. the only way to spend 11 charges is when one trap has 3 charges and two traps have 4)
    2 2 4 4
    2 3 3 4
    3 1 4 4
    3 2 3 4
    3 3 3 3
    4 1 3 4
    4 2 2 4
    4 3 2 3
now it's much easier for me to see this algorithms' patterns.
