  1. It is currently a problem. I do agree with you. But I personally really am unsure on how to rebalance or rework objectives on the survivor end.

Maybe it's time behavior does add another objective phase within the game mode for survivors, for example in Evil Dead there's two objective faces that are timer base and survivors have to hold out for a certain amount of time. I'm thinking there could be these areas they have to hold out in order to start working on generators again depending how fast generators get completed?

  2. I wouldn't mind the gen speed if they spawned away from the gens. Adding base corrupt or a ruin effect until you get your first down could help. Hell if they just gave us release ruin back it would probably help some.

  3. Now that you mention it makes a lot of sense i mean if i gen rush the killer you have to help the killer from try right even if you gen rush build just tell the killer you can hook you for trying I tried it once on wesker and he let me go I respect him for that.

  4. It's wild to think that toolboxes and BNPs are still more balanced than at launch. Remember the days where a BNP would instantly complete a gen meaning within 5 seconds of spawning in, survivors could do 4 gens?

  5. My least favourite thing about Dbd about rn is that Pain Res is a huge crutch perk.gen slow down perks are not fun but necessary to even get two good survivors hooked before the exit gates are ready.

  6. I think it’s also fair to say that 3 gen builds and pretty much all gen slowdown metas have been addressed so far but all of the survivor tools other that bnps have either been ignored or flat out buffed for the sake of variety rather than the sake of balance.

  7. That’s why I am glad I am a SM main I can combat this to some degree. I know people hate 3 gen killers but kinda have to right now. If it’s ok for survivors to bring gen rush builds then I am going to use the most disgusting slow down build I can use as well. Overcharge and Oppression are really doing wonders to combat this.

  8. To be honest, playing killer is kind of disheartening these days because of how fast survivors can do the gens. If they don't have very much gen speed, then it's a pretty easy win, but if they do… you kinda have to sweat super hard and keep track of a set cluster of gens to even have a chance of getting 4-6 hooks, never mind winning via the conventional method of hooking. Something definitely needs to be changed about gen speeds in general, or at the very least give killers some sort of base kit for early game exclusively, perhaps even adding a secondary objective for the survivors? Like having some sort of object on the map that slows down gen speeds until survivors cleanse it? Idk, just throwing out an idea, but definitely something needs to change.

  9. I only use tool boxes when it’s a challenge or if I get it from a gen cause it’s ridiculously easy to win if you take even a brown tool box with decent addons. So I get it but you try nerfing it or changing it and survivors will cry themselves to death.

  10. Iv always noticed this issue its even bigger since the gen kicking nerfs (which i never used to begin with cause its dull) but ya killer doesnt have much way to counter this gen rushing tactic unless they are using corrupt and deadlock both and corrupt goes away as soon as you down someone. So your now using only 3 perks out of 4 and it was only used to make it so your allowed to have more than 3 gens before finding someone which is just insane.

Survivors keep getting perks to help them stay in chase longer or to gen rush while killers get mediocre perks

  11. Well it's not like survivor have other good item options. Let's check them out:
    1) we have flashlights nerfed to ground and new killer does not even cares about them + any killer just can take lightborn and ruin your flashlight. But it is not possible to prevent you from using toolbox regardless of killer.

    2) Medkits nerfed to ground, now any sort of self-heal is very weak, it is better to just keep injured and push gens. And a lot of killers using some sort of bleeding or sloppy butcher. Moreover, new survivor perk gives +3% permanent move speed if injured. Just taking toolbox is better option.

    3) In order for survivors to win, you have to steal killer's time, after certain ammount was stolen, he loses. Flashlight and Medkit steals time FROM YOU, either by reducing chase distance or by stealing time you could use to actually do gens.

    4) Map and Key are unreliable, seeing killer aura and totems is very specific and RNG depended, same for grenades.

Toolbox pretty much a Joker, if every survivor just would take toolbox in every game, 2 gens will be done in first 30 seconds. And you don't even need purple one, even yellow is ok. Built To Last can help to fully regenerate toolbox after using it. There are plenty of gen rush perks (no i am not talking about skill-check one). Just recently the perk that shows closests 3 gens was redone (DeJaVu) to have infinite duration for +5% gen speed FOR FREE, you don't even have to do anything.

    So previous 90s gens are now -5% due to De Ja Vu (-4,5s);
Then we have toolbox which can give something like, let's take smallest ammount, 16 free seconds, so now we have 85,5-16 = 69,5s gen:
Good toolbox has 32 charges, so it's 52,5s gen.
Now red addon gives +25% of gen, which is -22,5s. So gen just got reduced from 52,5s to 30s. Ha-ha-ha… But this is not the end.
Yellow wire addon adds another 12 charges= 18s gen. Of course, you still need to actually spend some time in order to fully use toolbox charges, which might take up to 30 seconds, so we can assume minimal solo gen time is 30 seconds or so.
We ignore hyperfocus, it is way too much skill-dependant are require stable 60 fps. But we can take Fast Track for extra 3% per hooked person (except us).

This is indeed nuts, i tend to take such toolbox and find other players nearby, then rush for De Ja Vu middle gen and pretty much finish it in 22s or so. Balanced.

  12. As someone who’s been playing survivor a lot lately… I agree. If a team really wants to, they can make gen speed impossible to deal with. Toolboxes need to be looked at, and yes, less gen speed perks overall. Perks can do many other fun and interesting things besides that.

  13. Add now you can carry a flashbang with the tool box. Faced a really rough swf today. Even though I got a 3k at the end it was such a frustrating match. Survivors won this chapter for sure.

  14. As a preson who main on both sides i do agree but not just toolboxes same with flashlights and cheese perks too it just playing as killer is still hard and for survivor it a mixe it can be very easy or hard but mostly easy at times i do not use items only when i found a chest and even hell it still feels cheesy no wonder why most killer mains just use gen regess perks

  15. Maybe gens should go back to 80 seconds instead of 90, so survivors don’t feel like they need toolboxes 😆

I’m always wary of videos where people intentionally went in as a foursome swf to prove a point. Most normal games aren’t coordinated with survivors and there’s a broad range of perks and items. Nerfing stuff just makes life hard for solo queue and new players, which is the majority of the player base. And survivors have already had a lot of nerfs to healing. Maybe now they don’t expect to last as long in games, so time to crank out the gens? You’ll never balance the game totally

  16. Like you noted, swfs can stack all those gen speed perks, toolboxes AND horrific map offerings with absolutely no penalty. I’m talking as someone who feels the pain of both bad teammates and swfs being able to do whatever they want. I liked another commentor’s idea of bringing back old Ruin’s effect and applying it toolboxes. There was a thrill to consistently hitting those greats as survivor that I would love to experience again.

Additionally, introducing some kind of condition to swf-ing that requires each player to bear a different item, or non-duplicated perks, may make killers’ experience more tolerable against them. Oh yeah—and FORBID THEM FROM BURNING MAP OFFERINGS!

  17. Although you’re making good points BHVR has said they aren’t and won’t balance around the 1% and regardless if everyone thinks they’re in that “1%” isn’t up to me but it’s very unfortunate to see these things stay untouched because it’s not OP for the casual players

  18. I mean, if killers don't bring at least two gen regression perks they're pretty much screwed, and even then this video proves that that's not enough. But if you use the term genrush they'll act like the victims and call you a cry baby

  19. During a recent "ask me anything" session on reddit,on a question about trying to buff the trapper, the developers stated that they are happy with the current conditions of this character,as the data shows he is in a good spot 😅.
"Data",that is the magic word for these developers, everything goes around data.
If the toolboxes haven't been nerfed yet,is because the majority of the playerbase plays so poorly (I'm bad too),that fails to escape even with all this stuff, and the developers keep nerfing gen regression because of it and they create even more "genrush" perks like the recent scavenger.
This is,I guess, the most logic explanation, otherwise,I don't know how to classify whoever is behind this game and the balance choices they make 😂.

  20. The game is in a dangerous and vicious cycle at the moment (maybe always has been). SWFs destroy a killer (most of the time with BM on top´of it) -> killer goes next match against solo queue survivors and simply doesn't give a damn about good manners anymore, because of how traumatized they are, then proceed to tunnel, camp, and BM.

Solo players get the end of the stick here. The entire experience as a killer AND solo queue survivor is miserable because of that.

SWFs are on the top of the pyramid and ruining the game for everyone, simply because they have the tools to do so. Can't even blame them, because they're simply playing the game with what's given to them.

If you ask me for potential solutions, I don't really know. Anything that helps solo queue survivors ends up buffing SWFs.

  21. Bro, you mentioned Skill Based Match Making (SBMM) let's be real, that killed COD when they started to prioritize skill over ping. Does there need to be balance yes, but ping should always be king. We have enough issues with bad internet connections in games to worry about am I playing at 46 ping or 200 ping.
