Vecna is Clunky, but a Thematic Masterpiece – Dead by Daylight

tl;dr: Killer is awesome, but a little bit of slowdown/clunk holds him back so far.

  1. The keys 1-4 don't do anything on killer right? Don't see why they cant just make it a hotkey system 1-4 for the spells, then just change the cool downs of the spells for balance is a good option too.

Also i think getting rid of the slowdown on all the spells but fly would be good. This would make it so even causing survivors to have to crouch to not get hit still trades distance in a chase, no reason for the orb to slow you down that's just weird for a info only ability. Mage hand may also need it not sure if it would make much of a difference on that spell or not hard to say

A token system for the skelly boys could work too if you make it so it cant be crouched. you start with 2 tokens (spell slots?) of the skelly boys and you gain 1 token every time a survivor is hooked or enters a new hook state, so you get a grand total of 10 casts per match but now it cant be crouched

  2. What a missed opportunity for eldritch blast.

Warlock class, as many races as you want with a racial spell or sub effect for blast, spells are very powerful but can only be used once until next gen is completed, can summon demons or make pacts with the entity to guard generators that survivors have to fight (or seduce), and has a familiar that can't attack but can fly and see through walls. Eldritch blast is a very fast AOE projectile that hits through walls that does at least 1 damage, instadowns after all gens completed (you still only get to use it once).

Edit: also has special hooks that level up and enhance spells for every hook stage earned, but survivors can always unhook themselves from them and gain extra borrowed time.

  3. Survivors just need to not be able to insta drop a pallet after it gets picked up by mage hand. Literally makes the entire spell useless and one dimensional since it can basically only be used on pallets that are still up.

  4. I feel its crazy when a pink addon has two effects on it, likely to be nerfed at some point in the killers lifetime

btw I assume singularity has no downsides to the longer pallet stun perk?

  5. I dont keep up with DBD much, so I had no idea vecna was the new killer. I'm literally watching Critical Role campaign 1 right now so this is oddly timed lmao

  6. 100% killer mains say hes too weak, needs a buff, he gets buffed before going to live, making him oppressive and no survivor wants to play against him, then the game loses more survivor players

  7. I dont think vecna needs as much of a spell fatigue he has now. His skeletons and MAYBE his hand are really the only antiloop. Fly can maybe be used sometimes but you'd need to be very precise. So basically..once you outlast vecnas hand and skeletons..he has really nothing left for awhile

  8. Vecna is pretty much perfect, only thing I'd say they should change, is the slowdown after he uses his power, if any of the cool-down numbers were changed, it may throw him off and make him bad or overpowered.

  9. I swear if anyone reads this comment run Coup de Grace on this killer right now. It makes up for all this killers weaknesses.
This is a very balanced killer, and other than maybe a hitbox size increase on the skeleton attack and less slow when using mage hand, its a perfectly fine killer. I find it fun to go against and play as, because if you understand how to play it, you can be very good in chase, but not uncounterable. I am a former Artist main so I have found that this killers chase is played quite similarly, but more aggressive, and a lot stronger. Most tiles are guaranteed hits if you have good timing and spacing, and the ones that are not or are questionable you can use mage hand after to get the hit. If theres connecting pallets, zone them with it and use a Coup de Grace stack. This killer is for sure the strongest user of Coup de Grace, especially if you run add-ons to increase flight time and let you swing faster out of flight, you can chain and M1 into flight and with Coup you just guarantee a hit.

  10. My IDEA FOR THE ORB BUFF:
Mr Scott, sir, behavior could add a feature to the orb that could help his cooldown and orb usefulness.

-for each survivor effected by dispel magic orb, increase cooldown timer speed by 10-15%.
That way you get rewarded for trying to actually hit survivors with it and it will make his cooldowns feel way nicer. Leave the 60 second cooldowns base kit.

  11. running the iri vorpal sword addon turns this guy from a alright C tier killer into a solid B tier killer. Mastering the pallet ability and using your fly mobility in good use is all you need. The detection is niche and only should be used when you have nothing to do and the flights of demand you use just to try and get a quick down. The key to this guy is not using your power irresponsibly, however i think this guy will have the singularity effect on people where they find him too much to play. Ngl i already find him unplayable without add ons but thats just me

  12. Bardic Inspiration lasts for the full cooldown (at tier 3) after the song is finished. I've been using a build with it combined with stake out and I play my song while gathering stacks before going off to do some gens

  13. Update is amazing, but behavior actually shot themselves in the foot because, after trying to branch out to like 5 other failed games, they made a good dnd game template and just added it to dead by daylight…

  14. Vecinas hand seems to be best used as a mixup during loop from what I hypothesize.

It doesn’t seem like survivors know what spell you are casting, so I suspect at certain loops where Killer is at pallet and the survivor has enough distance to feel comfortable holding the opposite side, maybe you could discourage them from running by threatening with the AOE attack, and then block the pallet and run them around it.

Kind of like the old Pig 50/50 where you take pallet control and ambush from there. Except pig couldn’t stop you from walking away.

  15. So this is D&D Vecna and not Stranger Things Vecna? I guess this is another case where the Killer is more working with mama spider than for her. Though I guess that really depends on where in Vecna's timeline this is and what edition of the game.

    Thanks for the video Scott.

  16. I agree that using every ability slowing you down is annoying, but since he quite literally has 4 powers, I think I'm okay with them just being "alright." And making 1 of them good with add-ons kinda feels like the point. Granted you can also then just run both iri's.

  17. "Going against him didn't really feel bad but I think that's because he's slightly too weak right now" implies that a "balanced" version of this killer would feel bad to play against. Probably not what you meant but wrong choice of words I guess.

  18. The skeletons can be crouch teched, the hand does nothing if you don't have the iri, the flight's cooldown is way too long even with the yellow (if it isn't bugged) and the sphere is ok, just too slow and kinda clunky animation.

Also mage hand iri is kinda like chucky scamper, carnifex, uncounterable zoning
