08:25 please teach me how to be an absolute bone master T – T
i love Detective's Hunch, especially having a pretty good spatial memory. If I don't want to bring a med kit, running Inner Strength with it is great. So great getting rid of that pesky Ruin and preventing NOED or Devour Hope from ever being a problem.
Extra pro gamer move, bring a map and detectives hunch. Detectives imprints everything it sees onto your map. >:D
but counterforce is amazing in map with several floors. especially midwich
Honestly Counter force and Small Game are the best combination and u can bring BT + Exhaustion perk for example in my SWf i Love running this Combo
the best perk for totems is rainbow map with double stamp addons 🙂
quick question: what monster do you guys think wouldn't fit in dbd cause they'll be too overpowered?
I love the build Detective's hunch and Inner strength, not only doing totems but also gainin' healz is fine by me
green map + detectives has helped my map knowledge so much!
I don't have Detective's Hunch (working on it) but I find that counterforce + small game work well in tandem for solo queuing! Counterforce's speed bonus helps quite a bit with killers that tend to pressure their totems more, and small game's stacks allow me to keep track of how many totems remain. This means I won't waste time looking for a totem someone already cleansed, and I can "inventory" the remaining ones in case I'm using Inner Strength or something.
Ideally, Detective's Hunch could replace both of them, but I do like the merits of Counterforce's speed boost since there aren't really many other perks that can remove pressure from cleansing as much!
By far Detectives hunch, I've literally gotten all 5 on 1st gen multiple times. After awhile you don't even need to use it because you're gonna remember all totem locations. Counterforce is a good back up perk to run if u want to annihilate all totems faster, but it's those 2, small game is worthless if u have either of these.
Detectives Hunch + Inner Strength = Easy Heals + No totems every match
please can you play my ghostface build ? its agitation, iron grasp, mad grid/ruin , spies from the shadows
Counter force is so strong for me I use it and if my friend runs the killer for 60-90 seconds I can cleanse 3-4 totems in that time.
A common totem spot is in killer shed in the corner next to the palet
One thing to touch on with Detective's Hunch is that it has big drawbacks in normal play. Like Ruin/Pop denying procs, NOED only being in play after gens are all done which can be missed, or a late devour hope, etc.
I think Small Game is the best all round perk for totems in the average case (plus it's a free general perk), however Detective's Hunch can outshine in the best case scenarios.
Obviously the map is the best
It’s super fun to cleanse totems super fast too because the killers hex perks get demolished… I often see dc’s because of my hunting for totems every match but it works. Haven’t been noed’d in quite a while because of it…
Hay, I was in a match with you!!!! Awesome, hope I seeme in a vid, but I get if you were helping us with blood points. I was a solo player. A Leon with self care, spine chill, bite the bullet, and the fang min exhaustion perk. I usually play killer, but I play survivor every now and then
I always cleanse against Freddy or deathslinger they always have no Ed loool
I'm honestly not using hexs anymore… with the new matchmaking they get cleansed in like 20 seconds!
Where open handed
I've been using Detectives Hunch, Small Game, Desperate Measures, and Borrowed Time a lot lately and it's been working pretty well, I haven't unequipped it from my Meg yet.
Detectives hunch has a littledownside that the other totems dont have: when all gens are done and you didnt actively search out and memorize all totems, detectives hunch wont help anymore.
Happens surprisingly often to me that i completely ignore totems when i find out that there is no ruin or devour, just to be smacked by noed with no totem tracking in the end.
I still agree that hunch is the best totem tracking perk, this downside can be overcome.
Do you think counter-force would be better if you consider getting interrupted off of hex totems? The speed boost helps cinch the cleanses that you otherwise may not have time for. The ideal example is you have done 4 bones, and noed kicks in right next to you, and the killer immediately turns to check it. Counterforce would help you guarantee that cleanse where without it you may get insta-downed.
The worst situation is the same but you have cleansed none, and you run around to find noed, if it is your first totem it is still 20% faster which might still save you from the killer coming to look.
That is just my thoughts on it, Detectives is still likely better, but I think this use of it is valuable
The problem with Detective's is that you have to have slightly better memory than a goldfish for it to work. Map is a rare and expensive item in a web sooo… Small game it is. Best anti-totem perk. Or just pray to RNJesus. That works too.
I'm addicted to Counterforce.
Any hex is the best anti totem perk
Can someone explain what happens when you cleanse totems
This is so annoying. I literally had mobs of players harass me on the Dead by Daylight Discord, and Forums just for suggesting that the Map was the best way to find totems.
I was right assholes.
Also big flaw with small game: it doesn’t work very well on maps that are two floors.
Detective's Hunch mark things in the green map too sir with no addons, test it also bring open hand for more totems
I've always said Detectives is the best because you or someone else can be actively progressing the game, and that helps you find totems, as well as Gens, and Chests. So it effectively turns the time you spend looking for totems into time/progress on Gens, which is significantly more efficient. With the multiple buffs Detectives Hunch got awhile back, it became a very solid perk.
Detectives hunch adds totems to green maps (even without add-ons) as well
I won’t lie I personally think counterforce is underrated it is the Banish to noed and if my swf is doubling up on gens 1 in chase and 1 counter force wiping the totems i feel it should show the closest totems
I remember the one time I got a 4K as nurse ONLY because I ran thrill due to a lack of perks. They survivors lost due to a hex totem (only thrill btw) sitting on a hill and excessive altruism plays
was having fun (sorry) the other day with counterforce and small game together
i tried this build: inner strengh counterforce and map. So basically i can cleanse totem fast and get something in return
Detectives hunch IS the strongest totem destruction peek in the game. On the VAST majority of the maps. You can find the location of all the totems after one gen is done.
Hello Otz. I personally think the best setup is Detective's hunch with a green map, even without add ons. Usually the first thing to do in game is to check if there is actually ruin and then possibly move on to search for totems. With all the surv alive it is very easy to make the first generator in optimal timing and then search for totems. In addition, if there are no hex totems you can simply focus on gen and clean the totems before the last gen is finished to avoid a possible noed or completely ignore the totems if all the perks of the killer have been spotted. I would also like to add that Detective's hunch is a perk that works passively on the actions of the team, you don't need to physically search for the totems but it is enough that any teammate finishes a gen to make the perk work and then have an eye on everything with the map. I started using this setup in team since the day Detective's hunch was buffed and I don't remember a single game where the killer was able to use noed effectively or where ruin/undying were a problem, also allowing the use of Inner strength on 2 team members making any slowdown on cures useless.
No inner strength is
Jokes on you Otz, I just run all 3 and add sprint burst in to cover the ground a tad quicker with a rainbow map equipped. Aint no stopping the Totem-Mangler! >:D
I still think counterforce is a great option for an experienced player. If you're familiar with totem spawns, you can usually find the first one without help, then get an exact location of a distant totem that you make a note of and then search a 2nd totem without help again. Usually that'll reveal a different totem, so now you know where 2/3 of the remaining totems are, with a small cleansing speed buff and less time lost.
