I pretty much stopped playing killer entirely. I'm sick of Boon totems, hackers, and bad map design screwing me over every match. I only play killer for rare challenges with meme builds now.
They just played a match as Trickster
Definetely. I was confused by how much faster my queue time as killer was
ive been playing with lots of people from other regions and there has been a lot of server lag aswell, hard to play honestly
A lot of killers I know barley play anymore
So I left "rank 1" killer queue on a very specific date and I assume I wasn't the only one. On mikaelas release, my killer MMR was completely reset. Like, from 8000 hour killer vs sweat teams to now I was consistently facing 12 hour survivors. Confirmed by steam profiles, they were all legitimately baby survivors. It takes a lot longer than I would've expected to get back to high MMR, but 300~ hours and I think I'm back where I belong. I did put a ticket into bhvr but they completely misunderstood my issue and it didn't help (who woulda guessed).
I have to assume I'm not the only one that had that issue, my survivor MMR was fine, only killer reset, and every killer.
Maybe this is a stretch, but I feel like the killer playerbase has more overlap with traditional FPS games like COD or Halo. With the release of the big 3 (Halo Infinite, COD Vanguard and Battlefield 2042) combined with general DBD discontent from the killer side, people may be swapping to alternative titles. New and returning survivors would be keeping the number of players the same while killers leave.
As a Middle East player my normal ping is 120 and sometimes i get 300 to 400 pings it is so frustrating to deal with that
As for ping I just had a match where I won as killer but all of the other players were good sports though they mentioned they had high ping and asked me where I was playing from. Interesting.
The time I normally play my Killer queue times were ALREADY super fast with my Survivor times being super long. It was a key factor in why I becomes a Killer Main. It was just so much easier to get Killer game after Killer games when they were damn near instant when I had to wait fifteen to thirty minutes for a Survivor game. My Survivor games don't take that long these days but they are still a lot longer than my Killer queues most nights.
I play 8 to 9 PM EST on nights I work (one Survivor two Killer) and on nights I don't work I USED to I play 8 to 11 PM or so but now I can't stand the sweat and toxicity I get in my games so I normally only play two or three on each side.
When I play around 4 AM to 6AM EST it would flip around and Survivor queues would be fast, sub five mins, while Killers queues would be unbearably long. Around 11 AM they settle down to about even and then after about 6 PM it's once again almost instant Killer with longer Survivor. I also got a lot of people with Chinese and Korean profiles in the early mornings my time.
This was a few months back, I haven't tested it out as of late because, again, I'm not having fun in my games so I'm not playing as often.
I have been seeing more lagy games though. Once had a Nea with a near constant 450-550 ping. I think the lowest I ever saw her dip was 320.
100% laggier games 100% more yellow pong than norm
Weirdly enough I've been having longer queue times, non laggy lobbies, but random in game lag spikes 🙃
Usually I'll have at least two people in game with 40-50 ping and at least one with 100+ ping. I have no clue what's going on with that tho. Very strange.. 🤔
Just here to click in and say yea my ping has been getting worse since the update. Back then I was around the green but now Im almost ALWAYS In yellow hell even red on some few occasions. really weird stuff.
Killers just started playing survivors instead. Tried tracking the regions people were from over a week and the data wasn't any different than before the queue time change. Player rates are slowly going down so queue times should be going up. There's also noticable deadbands in the MMR system where an average survivor ends up at a higher rank than an average killer.
Once the queues flipped, survivor lobbies for me as a Rank 1 Killer became a toss up between:
-Cheaters
-3 and 4 stacks sweating
-Normal players
Sorry Scott, but I really think you're wrong about this. I'm in a group of DBD players on discord and literally everyone one of them, me included, chose to uninstall or quit playing killer at all within a week.
It's because most people rank up survivor first because it's their favorite then do killer later on in the month. It happens every rank reset.
I can definitely say it's gotten a bit more laggy. But I'll definitely take it over waiting forever. It's a small price to pay, for a better game.
Don't know what region / time zone you're playing in but the queues didn't get this way overnight for me.
Yes I'm getting laggy lobbies
I have in every round people with high ping in my lobby. Most between 150-300
lag has been a constant thing for a fellow console player like me, but def agree about the ping it’s either me being on Jupiter or the killer playing from a black hole.
and idk if this is an mmr thing that’s been happening to other people, but my solo q teammates have been more terrible recently like it seems like I’m getting more and more baby survivors idk if that’s just regular solo queue now but I wanted to ask still :,)
