The Singularity is one of the least played AND least lethal killers in Dead By Daylight, despite many players claiming that he is well designed. Let’s take a look at this claim, as well as showcase the reason behind those low statistical numbers, with some changes that would help him without breaking Singularity!

  1. Hellbilly doesn't belong in the complicated lineup. he's similar to the huntress. He is very simple to pick up and play, but is complicated to master, with a very high skill ceiling.

Wheras nurse and vlight are slightly complicated to pickup (blight moreso IMO) Singularity blows even blight out the water on that front. If you aren't PERFECTLY micromanaging every aspect of the match, he may as well not even have a power.

  2. Im a singularity main and I can confirm people don't play cuz he's to hard for most people even though he is actually pretty easy to after like a week (this is my experience so tell what happens with you.)

  3. it's also funny for me how useless the slipstream spread mechanic is. Usually it go into play when not infected survivor ran to infected one with an EMP. It's not like the Plague when you spread a desease getting rid of which is risky. No. It's just a minor inconviniense

  4. As a 43 prestige Singularity — he's way to easy to counter vs SWFS. One person whose not in chase just run in and emp the person you are chasing. It feels SOOOOOO BAD. The best build for him IMO is slugging as they dont lose their bug on them if they are slugged. I use Knockout, DeerStalker, BloodWarden, Forced Hesitation. Add ons Family Photo and Denied Requisition.

  5. I personally think the Singularity is great. Sure, he may require a lot more work and brain power than the toper tierer killers to get less of a reward than them but i just don't care he's fun to play. And very fun to listen to

  6. Great video… I was a very avid singularity player for the better part of a year and got pretty good with him – but I just don't feel motivated to play him anymore

You often feel like you get screwed over by the maps and clutter more than the survivors themselves and his reliance on a purple addon makes him feel kind of grindy – you can brute force a win against most teams since he can slug and snowball quite easily… but it just doesn't feel worth it to me now

He's probably the most fun killer I don't want to play lol

These days I'd honestly rathar play something like the unkown… who maybe isn't quite as insane, but is still strong with good skill expression and is just very consistent across maps and isn't addon dependant etc. I think these factors plus are even more important to more casual players

  7. im sorry but the singularity would be way too op if the emp would be nerfed at all.. i feel like people and even bhvr only talk like every game is SWF but the reality is 90% of players are solo que

reposting what i posted on the forums as a hux main

Hello, I'm a Hux main and I love his gameplay but now that we're seeing multiple killers get qol updates/reworks I think it's only fair that my bbygirl gets one too. There's too many aspects of his basekit that feel too punishing so here's what I propose:

Soma Family Photo's effect needs to be basekit. 5% haste after teleporting. No 20% reduction for the overclock duration BUT overclock could be reduced by 1 second in general. Proposed idea for a new effect for Soma Family Photo would be: Decreases the size of biopods by 30% and reduces the sounds they make by 50%.

EMPs should have two modes: one for removing biopods and one for removing slipstreams. This can make them feel less unfair and also add an element of strategy for survivors.

EMPs should NOT work across floors. It's okay for them to ignore walls/obstacles but not floors.

EMPs should take 1 second longer to charge. I believe it is 2.5 seconds now, buffing it to 3 or 3.5 would not be bad.

Biopods recovery time should go down from 45 seconds to 35.

Remove all of the anti-camping debuffs that Hux gets. They made sense at release but now anti-camping is properly implemented in the game and it just sucks that Hux gets EXTRA basekit slowdowns when near a hook but other killers don't. I don't like camping but this just feels unjust.

Improve collision detection for biopod placement and LOS mechanics for slipstreaming.

That's all really. Also please give him more skins.

  9. Is it weird that dispute all of this he became my favourite killer in the whole game. I 100% agree and I'd love to see these issues get addressed but I think he has a charm that others don't have and that is what is fun about him. This killer was a dream come true and I could not thank bvhr enough for Hux.

  10. I would say the biggest Problem is how much brain power is used to play Singu vs how easy it is to counter him.

My suggestions would be to make Soma Family Photo Basekit and change the Addon to bring back the old Version.

Also, maybe make it so EMPs take longer to Spawn the more Generators are finished but Survivors get EMPs faster if they are already slipstreamed.

Or maybe a Survivor gets slowed down by 5% for 1 second for every Slipstream they cleansed or Camera they destroyed for.
So if they for example destroy 1 Camera and cleanse 2 Slipstreams they get slowed by 5% for 3 seconds.

And they should change it so the detection works on visible % of a Survivor. If you see +50% of a Survivor you can slipstream or teleport to them.

  11. Singularity is actually in my top 10 favorite killers to play as. Once i finish getting all my killers to P1, I'm likely gonna focus my top 10 for levels, so im gonna be playing him quite often.

  12. I like HUX a lot and think he's a top 10 Killer, but the changes you mentioned would go a long way, especially the QoL ones. I do think we could nerf EMPs slightly by making them stop at maybe 90% progress just so they aren't completely passive, and require some planning ahead to use them aggressively. I'm unsure of how to add Soma basekit, perhaps it could be a ramping effect similar to Skull Merchant's, where the more Survivors that are Slipstreamed, the stronger the effect is.

  13. As an ex singularity main, even if you enjoy this play style, he's basically impossible to consistently win with, so you can't get into it no matter how much you like the power. It got to the point I had to three Gen slug just to get one kill on a bully squad

  14. As a Singularity main, I can say that this is accurate. And very sad thing happened a week ago. Singularity literally got nerfed.
So, in one of recent patches, they removed camera disable sound. Previously you could hear a sound of a camera breaking with emp and understand that 1 of all cameras got broken and can instantly check and find which one. Now, when random camera gets broken, Singularity doesn’t hear the sound and it can be annoying cuz I often don’t even know that my camera was broken, and when I finally find it out, the gen on which this cam was on, is already 90% done.
But I still love playing him the most. And I think, it will take some time to get used to this recent change

  15. 1. Map dependent AF. Got an indoor map? Good luck.
    2. Whipping your mouse around to find people and trying to orient yourself is a chore that no other killer asks of you.
2.5. On Controller, you can only turn your camera so fast. Literally making his power hindered on controller.

I might have more. But these are my first thoughts.

  16. As somebody who really enjoys singularity I think you said it best.

I don’t have an issue with singularity being hard, I love how unique he feels and successfully setting up and using your bio pods to max efficiency is the most rewarding feeling I’ve gotten out of Dead by Daylight by a large margin.

I love the singularity, with all his quirks, perks, and even his flaws. I’ve never felt so in love with playing killer like when I play him.

  17. I feel like faster TPs would help a lot. It takes so long for him to appear, long enough for the survivor to just completely vanish in some situations.
Also, biopods could potentially tag survivors. Either by slipstreaming them without needing to interact, or maybe just have a loud noice notification.

  18. It could be interesting to have an add-on that removes the emp’s from the game but reduces your pods to one or two and teleporting to a survivor removes their slipstream. Maybe a timer for the slipstream to go away on its own after a certain amount of time as well.

  19. i had enough shards to buy a killer recently and it was between knight and singularity. i think singularity is so cool but i just couldn't wrap my head around the concept of his kit and i didn't think i'd enjoy it. i believe i made the right choice now that i see how complex it is
