  1. I think you forgot that being insane or stupid is basically a job requirement for adventurers your going up against unknown horrors and monsters in search of power and riches though your probably going to die at the hands of said monsters before you get said riches

  2. The funny part is mordenkainen the arch wizard, believes that the multiverse must be balanced with good and evil and law and chaos, and if there was ever one side overtaking the other it would throw the multiverse out of balance and it would collapse on itself.

Behavior could have gave Aestri and Baermar that motive, that they feared if to much evil left the world the cosmic scales would shift and destroy the multiverse so they went to investigate.

  3. I like how you make the Entity out to be way more powerful than Vecna. So many people are saying the Entity “would be Vecna’s pet,” and it’s like, nah, Vecna isn’t even close to the Entity in terms of power.

  4. Frustratingly, this chapter isn't even out yet and I already want another magic killer with 4 more spells. Tho I'm certain that much like RE this'll sell like hotcakes and we'll get a second D&D crossover in a year or 2.

How I'd fix the bards is keep them as two separate characters, have the lass be a bit deluded by her ideals and go out casting a mix of charm and command on other adventurers to get them to follow her "noble quest of figuring out where all the BBEGs went" and the guy be like "no wait hang on what are you doing"? and rush after her. I'd even have made him a different class with 3 additional perks, but that was clearly beyond BHVRs scope this time around.

  5. The issue with this is that the entity doesn’t fully comprehend stuff.

Vecna does. And is immensely intelligent beyond what the scope of the agragore that the entity is.

The entity has unlimited power but is rudiment..

The mark of the entity probably does do something to Vecna but he probably allows it and could literally break out whenever he wants to.

You also have to remember this isn’t the actual Vecna either but essentially is just an avatar form he assumes.

  6. The only thing that’s really irked me about this chapter is the add-ons. They don’t really pertain to Vecna in any real sort of way and are just magical items from DnD. Having a few like The Bag of Holding makes sense but to have nothing but magics items all the way down kind of bugs me a bit, especially considering the Sword of Cas isn’t part of the line up.

  7. It's really cool seeing all the hype for this chapter, and while it's not my cup of tea as someone who never got in to DnD, that just makes me grateful that they announced the Castlevania chapter at the same time, since it gives me something to chew on in the meantime. I can only hope they put even half as much effort making that a faithful chapter as they did with this one!

  8. I love the fact that Vecna chose to get into the fog and even then it is portrayed as him being overwhelmed and having to think his way out of it. Even a God fucks up and goes against somethings they don't understand.

  9. I doubt anyone from BHVR will see this but, if they were to ever add a Tabaxi skin for the Survs that'd be the most tempting skin for me in the history of DBD.

I absolutely love "beast races" in fantasy, and cats are among my favourites.

  10. I definitely would not say that The Entity is on par with an Overdeity. Complete control of their personal plane, and influence extending out to other planes, is very much in the wheelhouse of most Greater Deities that have their own planes. And I don't think the Entity's small outer influence having a wider reach inherently makes it stronger.

The Entity may seem immensely powerful in comparison to the regular people that make up the majority of the Realm's population, but saying its on par with something that can create entire pantheons of fully-fledged gods is a bit silly.

  11. honestly, the bards being stupid as hell is par for the course, just ask any D&D player in general their experience with bards or look up funny D&D Stories about bards and you'll get the idea real damn quick

  12. You're kidding. These bards figured they'd fight the Archlich in order to "bring evil back into the world" with frigging lutes? No wonder the Entity took them; they're prime slasher appetizers

Edit: Also: "Bring evil back into the world"!? Are we sure they aren't the baddies??

  13. Hey, D&D enthusiast here. I love the video, but do wish you would do passes watching your uploads with captions on, so you could see how jarring the caption misalignments are. As someone with difficulty hearing, I rely on those.

Forgotten Realms invented a bunch of stuff that you’re treating as universal to D&D like The Weave and Elminster, even going so far as to say D&D is a singular IP when it’s a collection thereof. There are so many settings besides Greyhawk and Faerun, such as Dark Sun, Eberron (which is thematically defined by no deity-grade forces that can be proved or contacted, which is why I’m so bothered about setting crossovers), and the stock 4e setting that has no official name but is commonly referred to as Points of Light / the Nentir Vale.

As far as calling what Vecna’s power does to pallets _mage hand_, I feel like it’s more apt to call it _Bigby’s hand_, or even _unseen servant_, except that it is very much seen.

Thank you for talking about the business angle of D&D for people who may not know.

  15. In the Greyhawk setting… No, no them looking for touble is important. in that world, you need both good and evil to exist, this is why despite you knowing them as good, Mordenkainen is anything but, he stops both the good and evil in they threaten the balance of the world. that world NEEDS evil because if it doesn't have any for too long… it gets bad.
