  1. I said this ever since the PTB but I wish Nightfall looked like The Fell Twins bossfight in Elden Ring. Pure blackness while only being able to see the killer in the distance, exactly as they described it. Or make it like a “near sight” in Valorant.

  2. Somewhere in the middle is generally the best choice, but I’m kinda interested a darker nightfall that closely obscures the survivor’s surroundings; similar to Silent Hill’s fog as someone else said, but of course, more tense and dangerous. As for the bright Dredge, hopefully that’s just something they added for the PTB, it feels strange to see it glow like that; I don’t have any immediate ideas for how BHVR can balance this for both sides, but maybe someone else have something. ¯_🫤_/¯

  3. i agree that dredge glowing was a bit silly and it could of been a bit darker, sure, but you have to think about balance, making it so dark you can't see would not be fun or fair, maybe a radius around you where you can partially see and beyond it is total darkness

  4. So it reportedly 12m of visibility till total darkness in order to make it (playable) for survivors so they're not running into walls constantly and this should bring true jumpscare horror in open maps and possibly even to treatment theater and midwitch

  5. I dont think visibility should be tampered as debuff for any players, horror games for the most part have the ability to adjust the lightining and that is because players can get better at the controls of a game but they cant really get a better vision. Since they havent shown much about how nightfall should really work like, I just hope that you can atleast tell what is inside your radious apart cause its horrible in maps were all the textures look like solid images already as someone who has poor vision

  6. Ok the game should be a horror game and the darkness mode/night fall it should be more darker and that it's scary to see the darkness and yet behavior removed the one offering where u can change the moon or sun light was a wrong thing sense the darkness or light should only be limited to the KILLER and so the dredge can have full moon offering and the night fall would be very scary

(Idk why they would remove the offerings but someone tell me if they like to)

But the game is almost scary sense it's only for Mikle Myers and ghostface

And the dredge nightfall will make it be more scary and no longer a actual game where its not scary

  7. Well i think im a minority when i say "as little scary as possible" . A friend of mine brought me to dead by daylight and my first question was: "will there be jumpscares? If so, im not in" and he said its more like an action, thriller game. There are no jumpscares in this game, sure i jumped a few times but only at the start and it wasnt too scary. I like it because i really hate getting scared. I just dont get the same thrill of it as others do when they search for horror stuff. Thats why i only know michael myers, freddy krueger, leatherface, sadako etc. from dead by daylight. Sure i know how they look and know theyre names but i never watched the movies.

I played Dredge in the PTB and cought a survivor unexpectet as i jumped out a locker in the shack. I knew he will bring those jumpscares i dont like but i feel like this is what many people want. You know, its a "horror" game after all and not an "action thriller", so i get the desire for scary situations in DBD. I would rather not, but dredge will not keep me from playing, maybe i'll get more shielded towards scares when it happens enough XD So im glad for other people and will just try to not shit my pants XD

  8. It's all about balancing.

They could've made it this way; reduce visibility, but also highlight objective ! They got amazing lights over gens, it could be the only lighting source so youre not ''completely'' lost. They could've made something like ''if you wander in the darkness for too long, you get the blindness or hindered or exhaust or oblivious or exposed effect'' based on Addons, your character starts to scream and you hear weird reverse speaking, cause why not ?
Also balancing the killer. This ''perk'' shouldnt build up too fast, otherwise it would kill the pleasure and be ''unfair'', but when its ''On'' survivor should fear the outcome and seek for safety, no locker to hide, no blendette party.

It's just an example, but they could've made something interesting there.

  10. THey need to try something new and exciting. The game is steadily losing players due to the fact that people are finding fun elsewhere. The game feels really stale to play so they should just experiment and do something that noone would expect (like make the game fun)

  11. I think a darker look would be better! they did something like that in Friday the 13th, where if your character is scared the screen gets darker, more grey, and the camera zooms in on the character. its a very creepy feeling but if your good enough you still can get away from jason.

  12. I don't know, when I first started playing dbd I thought it was really scary.
I don't think the problem is the game but the genre, horror is really dependent on the "surprise" and "unexpected" effect.
So after playing for a while you know what to do and what to expect, making the game merely a horror game.

So, to bring the horror aspect, they could work more on lighting (the moon bouquet? add on was something) 😭
Or maybe bring more killers with teleportation, invisibility and undetectable effects

  13. I think they should use generators as a balancing feature. For example if you have no generators done it would be really hard to see. But if you complete generators the light from completing one would light up areas where it’s easier to see. This would give a better use to the generator lights.
