A ping system would allow the survivor role to feel better and be a nice QOL addition, but what really makes or breaks an escape is the quality of the survivors in terms of awareness, looping and stealthing, and most importantly being on the same page, because it doesn't matter how good you are if you're throwing to open chests.
Looping the killer for 5 gens or getting steamrolled at 5 gens is more of a matchmaking issue than a skill issue – the game has players of every skill and they are very randomly matchmaked.
This is why, the more you play and the better you get, the longer you will loop the killer ON AVERAGE because you'll be better than most killers playing at that given time.
BHVR has openly admitted wanting a 50% kill rate so I just keep that in mind and have way more fun.
i've literally been saying this for god knows how long. Only those with brain cells can tell that the game is so heavily Survivor Sided right now. I'm a P100 Leon Survivor Main. I rarely play Killer and when i do, its a horrible experience. Survivors are way too strong currently. Gen Rush is insane and needs looked at. Chase Perks overpower the Killer far too much and need reduced.
8:10 my boys Demiplays and BrainDBD got trashed 😢
5:40 – that void tech mid chase was clean af
"you're not supposed to have matches where the killer doesn't hook anyone" Tell that to my pig. I struggle to get two hooks! XD (Before anyone says it, yes- it's a skill issue. But also she's not very good which makes my lack of skill even more apparent).
the game is probably so controversial in being killer or survivor sided mainly because of op killers, there are killers that can snowball in a minute and get 5 kills somehow, but then there are other killers that basically start the game with -2 gens, so it's probably really luck sided (because of map, premade, killer, etc)
This needed to be said👍
Based big guy
I completely agree. This mindset plays a huge role in the give up on first hook problem many matches have. But in my opinion it is also way to easy for the killer to use this 1 vs 1 strengt to tunnel and basically win if done correctly so i also think it should be more ways to protect yourself in the game.
Something people don’t understand is, Ayrun heavily edits his footage. This isn’t a bad thing and it certainly helps keep ADHD heads watching, but most people who aren’t paying attention just think he loops the killer all game every game.
As a killer main I feel like while the game is much more balanced for my role than it was say 2-3 years ago it still feels like survivors have a lot more going for them when they know what they're doing. A 4 man SWF who are solid are the strongest thing in this game, more so those with comms. Yes things have been tweaked over the years to make them less obnoxious to play against (old object, infinites etc) but it still feels like an uphill battle to get anywhere against a team like that. Idk, that's just my perspective. (I also play survivor so I've seen both sides of the coin)
That’s right you’re not supposed to, but being able to win a 1 v 1 shouldn’t be impossible either. Survivor isn’t graded on teamwork, but on their own survival. Meaning that the 1 v 1 is all that matters, as much as people try to make the game seem like a 4 v 1. It’s actually a 1 v 1 v 1 v 1 v 1
The game is fairly balanced, it’s the matchmaking that’s not which gives players the illusion that it’s unbalanced. Shockingly someone with 100 hours will probably lose to someone with 1200 hours but with the matchmaking system, that’s a pretty common occurrence.
It's only ever only survivor mains that say this, that's jot to say only killers don't have issues but even people thwt play both get this o.O
You do great about survivor getting 3 escapes streaks in example ash to iri start with 0 perks as you rank up get a perk slot die lose that character
You blame JRM, and he is a good choice, but I blame Ochido, the original "I got to win every match and be able to bully the killer, while using every exploit, and if I lose it's the game's fault, not mine" survivor. He was the one who originally set in people's minds that DbD was "Bully Simulator" back in a time when the game really was massively survivor sided, and was so toxin about it that he got a perma ban for it, only able to continue his content by using other surv's footage. Far too many people emulate his mentality that if you don't get a five gen run, then the game is killer sided, and you need to DC.
While I don't think the game is currently "Surv sided" I will say that it is "Surv leaning" in most situations, but it kinda has to be when not all killers are created equal. If you balance the game for Pig or Freddy, then Nurse's, Blight's, Weskers, and Spirits will win about every match (more than they do at the moment), and thus there needs to be some killers that are weak compared to survs. However, the game by itself isn't in the favor of your standard M1 killer by itself, and this should be recognized by the strength of survivor perks. Even original dead hard was pretty balanced when it came to the top three killers of the time, but made it impossible for any other killer to win against good teams, and I think that there should be no point where a killer plays a good match, and still comes out with 0 kills.
At the moment, I am in the opinion of OP, and think the balance is good enough that both survs and killers have a chance to win if they both play good, however a lot of players don't seem to understand that they might just be "ok" at the game, nor understand that being average is fine.
Oh yes the old dbd was better player argument
“I could run the killer for five gens until they buffed killers and nerfed survivors ”
😂
This is exactly the wake up call that's needed
