Trying something a little different here- I thought instead of talking over gameplay, or recording a new match- I’d do both! Wow! It’s like a livestream, except not!

  1. This game has become an arms race. If you don't use nuclear options (like Eruption on killer, medkits and CoH on survivor), then if the opponent does you basically lose by default. And it seems like most players don't even care about chases anymore, survivors hold M1 on gens, killers use bullshit gen kicking builds. All the fundamental fun is basically erased.

  2. I feel the same way and you should not feel bad for speaking your mind man. IMO the best way to solve this issue is something I’ve said for a long time. Perks should NOT be game changing, need to reduce the numbers perks should not break 5-8% effects in most cases. Nothing should be a big enough effect that the other side groans when seeing it. 16-24 meters. I could go on and on. As for dead hard I actually thought they were gonna go the opposite route with it and remove endurance effect but keep the small burst of speed effect. I feel that would feel a little less annoying. Change name to “almost there” or something similar and boom big change, no more waiting it out or guessing if they have it, wait to long to use it and they eat a hit plus it can still be used to suddenly move to one side and dodge ranged attacks but that endurance effect is the issue and it needs to go.

  3. IMO the only problem perk in the game right now is Eruption. It's just lame, there's no counter. Even in a SWF you can call out if you are about to go down and it's not reliable. All they need to do is add a skill check. When the survivor goes down you get the skill check and if you fail, the gen explodes and you are incap. Easy, adds some way to counter the fucking perk.

  4. A huge call from Behaviour, which I think could address a lot of the sweat in the game right now, is introducing a secondary game mode called Hardcore/Adept mode: In the current mode, which would be renamed Casual/Normal mode, you just play as is with access to all perks you've unlocked, can bring add-ons, offerings etc.

However, with Hardcore/Adept mode you can only play the three perks unique to that survivor/killer, cannot bring any addons (offerings only) so the only items you can use are ones found in the trial and anything you find in that trial you lose irrespective if you escape or not. When we're talking about skill, from a survivor standpoint at least, there is virtually no difference from playing survivor to survivor once you've P3'd them all, however with killer it varies wildly for obvious reasons. A Hardcore/Adept mode could solve the frustrations of the more serious gamers wanting to challenge themselves and give people wanting to try meme with the killer or just mess around the opportunity to do so.

  5. The current meta stops long chases and actually encourages killers to pressure multiple areas and I think that helps survivors have a good share of chases, altruism and gen time

  6. You know something is wrong when matches aren't won by exciting chases and stuff like that, but by whichever side gets bored first and gives up. 40 minute 3 gen matches are just excruciating in a way that nothing in this game's recent history can remotely compare to.

  7. I really want a utility meta for survivors. Like having to gen rush to win sucks. I want stuff like pebble, inner healing, flashbang, etc to be like usable meta perks. I think silly stuff like that would do the game good.

  8. Yeah, my biggest issue is that everyone plays so goddamned sweaty on both sides.

You demonstrate even a basic knowledge of how to loop? Killer runs away to go set up a three gen.
You got unhooked five seconds ago? Killer's gotta hook you again.
You didn't bring three or four stall perks? Better hope you're the best chaser in the game because if you don't find and down someone in 20 seconds, two gens WILL pop immediately.
You're playing a killer that isn't a complete M1 gamer and has the teeniest little hint of antiloop? WWWWWWWWWpredropWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWpredropWWWWWW

It baffles me that people take such a casual game so seriously. It makes the game so bloody miserable because I feel like if I'm not abusing the most OP meta shit, then I just don't get to play.

  9. Hey, you are running the same build here I am for weeks 😀 (not playing daily though)
I can't say my experience is the same but I guess I am not playing as much and at least on survivor not high enough mmr.
Imo the change of the event regarding the snowmans was not a good idea. It was MUCH more fun to be able to avoid a hit with them and that you have to do it to get the cosmetics…
Every event is now too stale…just do stupid tome challenges and get the event stuff…where are the fun tasks you have to do during game to get the event stuff…
One of my favorite events was the hallowed blight a few years back, when you had to suck the plants for points as surv and hook on special hooks for killer. It's just so sad that the events do not have distinct mechanics anymore…
You can just ignore the snowmans this year. Really sad :c

  10. Gen progression and regression perks have become so boring. For both sides. I want to have a chase without 3 gens popping instantly, I don't want to bring Overcharge COB etc. I also don't want to bring streetwise, pts, hyperfocus, Stakeout, built to last etc combos with my friends, with fat medkits toolbox and bnp. But this is where we're at right now. It's sad when the last build on all my killer's is Eruption, Overcharge, COB and Lethal or Stbfl. A big shake up of gen perks on both sides is the only way to change the current "Meta".

  11. Yeah… worst part is if you don't want to indulge the Meta, you will get assfucked raw by the other side, creating the loop of assness where you gotta run good stuff to have decent chance but nobody is having fun. Been playing Hades, Valheim and Phasmo with a pal with occasional dip in DBD, and while I generally have decent time whilst killing I can't be bothered to play more than 1-3 matches until I feel like dipping out.

  12. Came back to the game a few weeks ago from like a 6 month break and this is definitely what I've noticed so far. At first I had fun learning the new meta again but now there's literally even less variety than ever before tbh

  13. I more often watch DbD than play it and that's a major problem, during an event and blood rush… That's super pathetic on behaviors end.

When I play survivor I get face camped at 5 gens, sandbag teammates and just straight up new players some how in my solo Q and I have 3000 hours then on the other end it's seal team 6 bully squads I just can't wait for Diablo 4 if I'm being honest.

  14. I love dbd so much but it's just become a slog to play now. Both sides are incredibly sweaty and the meta is such that I can't run a fun build without dragging the whole team down. I ran no mither for three hours in an attempt to get killers to chase me but not even that was working. I agree with everything you said here. I wish dbd was still fun but at this rate I've left dbd for other games

  15. i miss the old rank system, even with its problems. Each tier had a distinctively different play style that developed with how advanced tactics become and etc. All it was missing was perk variety

  16. Its def a weird time in dbd right now. Its the winter event where theres aspects to inspire friendly play, but killers have the gen and scourge metas, while survivors have the second chance or great skill check metas. This event is either been a sweat league or farm time and like, currently the game for me has dropped from a "daily play" to "Meh, on occasion". And at the end of it all, weirdly ive had trouble wondering what reward im playing for. BP is pouring everywhere. Shards lets be honest dont do much. And mmr is a myth. So yea. I still play. But just kinda had trouble wondering why.

  17. You play as killer you dam feel you are a turtle and every survivor knows how god loop the fok out of you, you play as surv, killers are dang tunneling every hook they get or games came like a flash, its really unfun for me to play now

  18. After going against eruption I stopped using it because it's really annoying, though I am guilty of using call of brine and overcharge. For survivor I've been enjoying coh, shadowstep, windows and bite the bullet

  19. i also don't blame the devs, but i do wanna have a sitdown with the people who thought nerfing Pop, a perk that activated on hooks and then had a time limit to use and buffing Overcharge to hit 400% regression speed and have no cooldown in the same patch and ask what the mindset there was

  20. Absolutely nailed it, brother. Not sure why people, most of whom will NEVER be in any professional/competitive environment wanted this game to become super comp, become a one way street of NO WE CAN RUSH GEN DONT KICK or NO DONT REPAIR GENS CLOSE TOGETHER I NEED THREE GEN TO WIN. A game that has ZERO place in comp has become comp to win lol. A damn PARTY game has become THE sweatfest. Evil Dead is very meh due to every single “high-level” game being war of attrition, gun for/flip cars… and people who main this game dare to insult other “stale” games within the genre, when the community pushes the game down to those depths along with the others.
