Exactly. We buy clothes that are produced in sweatshops with terrible working conditions and eat food that was harvested by people who are essentially modern day slaves, and yet buying a video game that is based on a book that was written by someone who said some mean words is where we draw the line? Utterly absurd.
You should ignore the hypocrites who do nothing but try to signal how virtuous they are, and instead surround yourself with people who do good for the sake of doing good, rather than for the sake of receiving praise and adulation.

  2. Will the chat ever tell tru3 that eruption is on cooldown after being triggered, and that kicking the gen while it's on cooldown won't apply the perk effect? I am fairly sure tru3 doesn't know about this.

  3. The new Blight Skin is fantastic!

The protest of Hogwarts Legacy only makes me want to buy multiple copies of it because it offends people. I cannot stand when someone tells me I cannot do something that is clear legal.

  4. I have been saying this forever! Social media is the blame for everything like this. It really is! You get people from every walk of life and way of thinking typing out what their brain thinks on a single app. I can see how it can become overwhelming. Social media is the blame for modern day narcissism, the I'm right and your wrong mindset, the passive aggressiveness in replies, the petty insults in replies which in turn make their way to the real world and other social media comment boards. Social media gives people a fake bloated image of a greater self-importance than they really have. It is backed up by likes and followers.

  5. Just wanted to make clear that the reason people are boycotting Hogwarts Legacy is because JKR is using her influence to spread messages that actively cause harm to vulnerable groups of people and not because they “don’t like her.”

While it ultimately might not matter much, the point of it is to make people that aren’t aware of the harm that she’s causing aware of it so that they will hopefully choose to not support them by buying the game. I personally wouldn’t think any less of someone for it, nor would I assume that they align themselves with those beliefs, but I haven’t had to experience any violence or discrimination because of JKR’s beliefs.

And while there are plenty of other bad things to point at in the world, just because we can’t fix all of them doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to fix some of them. While I’m not entirely familiar with the person reselling the books, a portion of the money that they received is going to charities to support the trans community. Taking the initial cost of the book plus the time and effort to rebind the books with handmade covers, I’m sure the profit is only enough for it to be worth continuing. That being said, there is still a profit, which is not necessarily a right or just thing to do. I don’t think their aim was to say “if you don’t buy my version, you’re transphobic” I think the sentiment was for anyone that wanted to have the books while still knowing that their money was supporting a good cause more than it was JKR.

I figured I would leave this here so that the situation was given more context, but I want to make it clear that I’m not posting this out of anger or resentment for True or anyone who may purchase Hogwarts Legacy or has the books. Anyways, I hope this helps make the situation a bit clearer.

P.S. The skin’s pretty cool but I would’ve preferred if they turned the serum into the G Virus with a simple color swap or something.

  6. For many people, lives don't turn out to be full of rainbows as they dreamt in their childhood. That's fine, it's just reality.
Unfortunately, some of them felt it necessary to blame others for whatever they thought isn't going right in their world. These are the toxic failures in life who make it a mission to inflict misery on others. I hope they get the toxic that they deserve back.

  7. To be honest i'm seriously considering buying the Hogwarts game BECAUSE of J.K. Rowling. So tired of people telling me I'm a bigot cuz i don't agree with their opinions. I can like a frigging fantasy story even if the writer said something that made you angry.
