While I agree that you can dislike the meta, its a bit lopsided to complain about it; while using it. Does it make you a bad person? No. Does it make you a hypocrite? Yes but to a degree that its not a huge deal.
The guy who called out the other one… is just a pos
Bran doesn't like perk I like? ……In this 42 paragraph dissertation, I will-
I have perks on both sides that I hate facing and it's not because of perk strength (DH and Boil Over for survivor, Franklin's, Knockout and NOED for killer)… and I've been told that I was objectively wrong for those opinions which makes no freaking sense. I just don't understand why some people feel like their opinions/feelings are facts.
Maybe its how I was raised but the way I see it is if you say you hate one thing and then go and do the thing you hate that other people do then you lose the ability to hate it. Like if you cheat on a Test and then get mad at getting caught I feel like you shouldnt be allowed to be mad cause you decided to cheat.
Yeah pretty much true, i personally don't like the hypocritical player's because more often than not they want to curbstomp people and can't take what they give out, but that doesn't mean im gonna call them out on it nor am i gonna complain about it, especially because i was like that at one point.
We may not agree with each other. But that is fine. A certain level of respect is always important. People will have feelings, opinions etc. That is just the way things go.
I deleted my Twitter for these reasons. Ppl just don't seem to understand it's just a game and they should just move on to another match or game entirely
Personally speaking I find funny when people police themself on MOST playstyles (I'm deliberately excluding playstyles that are malicious by design like bleeding out four people or trying to bully lower MMR killers). I was answering one question about possible reasons for DCs and I shared an anedocte of mine that boiled down to "first minute I down a Chris and he gets immediately farmed off the hook in front of me by a Laurie, so I tunneled the Chris", which was ment to as "sometimes people quit because teammates intentionally worsen your experience". People hard focused on telling me that it wasn't polite to go for the Chris because it wasn't his fault (ok exaggeration, it was a couple of people at most and the discussion was civil). In my lobbies people close gens in the least amount of time possible, so I use every instrument at my disposal to get the upper edge since people are always going to do the same against me and god forbid when it's a 4 man SWF that's half serious, so in my eyes going for the enstablished weak link (Chris) was the better play, it wasn't something that I did out of spite and funny enough tunnelling is actually disadvantageous for me 99% of the time even with killer like PH or Nemesis because I get more value with map control and disruption, while tunnelling is only really useful when there is a very weak link or gens flied too hard in 2 mins (which means that's a full SWF cranking on gens and I have to take advantage of their desire to get a 4 man out). I wholeheartedly despise gen progression perks because I dislike full gen regression builds (which I never run, in fact I refuse to get pain res despite my comp MMR friend shouting at me to get the artist for her 2 meta perks), but I know that some people like to get in and get out in the least amount of time possibile and I can't do anything except playing. I can't police how someone wants to play so I don't waste any energy, but yet you share an anecdote like mine and people come out of the woodwork with the Galateo in hand to teach you about etiquette. Safe to say that it never had an impact on me because at the end of the day I don't play to make the other players miserable and in the rare occasions that I tunnel I don't do it because I want that particular guy to suffer. It's like in fighing games: some people have fun with your playstyle and some despise it, but at the end of the day the important thing is not to adopt a playstyle focused on making the opponent feel bad. Ex. spamming fireballs IS annoying but it's not evil per se, (kinda wrote myself into a corner here) abusing a combo that have unintended effects that greatly improve it's efficacy and lower the risk is(maybe it was a high risk high reward but due to the bug is a low risk high reward). Same thing goes for DBD: flashlights/stunning and tunneling/slugging aren't evil per se, bleeding out, specifically targeting one guy to tunnel and BM him, making a squad with the intention of not doing gens while not allowing the killer to play is.
If they pump out more Sable cosmetics I'll like anything unfortunate to destroy me inside and out.
I love resident evil sonic love rpd as killer and I get so much shit for running the map that being said ok totally fine with survivors running eyrie or badham because it's just a game but the fact I've been told to off myself or that I'm certain slurs for using map offerings even though I don't run gen slow down as my time is limited with this game but I had to private my account as most dbd players are absolutely unhinged
There were two games where this exact thing happened to me.
1st match i was playing oni(randomly i dont main him) three people were abusing lockers and flashbags-i was unable to play the game becuase i couldn't hook anyone,by time i caught someone they hopped into a locker and when i would pull them out theyd just flashbabg me over and over, they were confused in end game how i didnt have fun.
Recent game#2 i was playing nem and three survs were abusing boil over and no mither. They would always get downed somewhere where i couldnt hook them(we were on dead dawg) in the end i got a 2k but now i run iron grasp on all my builds in fear of this happening again. I didnt interact with them cuz i just wanted out the game.
doesnt matter what killer i use, i have lightborn on every game i play. <,<
Hook denial can be really strong, a entire team playing hook denial, there goal is not to win it is to flustrate the other side as much as they can, the killer equivalent is bleedout slugging is very powerful but going into a game with the intention to slug and bleed is really cringe your goal isn't to win it's to ruin the other sides day as much as possible. For some reason the community gives a pass to one often when they both have the same intention.
I saw the tweet as well and i just don’t get why the bigger streamer which i actually enjoy watching one my favorites to watch on survivor i dont get why he’s getting mad for being called out for how the killer played and is running meta when he himself is running meta, for the smaller streamer dont like how what he said in chat and he should’ve just left it alone and not push it any further. For the video though this happens to me all the time and I dont care really dbd players are just entitled they can have their opinions but I really don’t care how people feel about my builds or i care about their builds or how they play is boring sure but they play whatever they want.
Me over here actively hating deliverance. Though I know it’s not super strong or OP. Just a perk that I don’t like and that’s okay.
I was in VHSX and I had commented I hadn’t played the game in while because of the aggressive play styles and comments just ate me up saying I was trying to tell this person how to play the game. So I go to talk to try VHSX in his stream and he is the absolute rudest human being I have ever come across in the dead by daylight community and I still refuse to play the game to this day. At the end of the day the game got too competitive, and feels like a grind for no reason. I mean more power to you, but someone coming home from work doesn’t want to play sweaty matches all the time. Gotta love “pro” players because honestly they are the only ones enjoying the game rn.
It's fine to dislike whatever, it's just when people constantly complain about everything yet continue to play the game that it gets tiresome to everyone else around them. There are people who treat the game like a chore they have to do rather than a video game they're choosing to play, and can take a break or stop playing at any time.
This was a great perspective to hear- I have a tend to get really upset and frustrated at games sometimes and it's great to hear someone else's thoughts about it!
In Magic the Gathering EDH, the "you can't do things" decks are typically in white or blue (or both). Typically referred to as Stax or Hatebears (if the effects are on creatures). It is typically not very fun to play against, and I'm sure many pods will rule 0 tell people to maybe don't run Tabernacle.
How many of you have ever felt personally victimized by the Dead by Daylight Community?
Me: o/
I can't understand why this community just accepts that people have personal opinions. It's fine to dislike things, yes, but it starts to get obnoxious when insults are involved in the conversation. For example, I had a few players in other comments heavily cursing me because I like the knight. Ok, you don't like the character? That's fine, but I don't find it necessary to take it so personally. This also applies to the end-game chat. You dislike a specific thing in the game? That's ok, but you're not forced to explain why you didn't enjoy the experience. You can just move on to the next game without saying anything instead of starting a quarrel.
