Giving some hot(?) takes about the new update, and my thoughts on the new build in basekit unbreakable that is being added. I actually think it might end up being a buff for killers depending on how they play around slugging.

I'm just sad about the mori changes because it means no more group selfies as ghostface with the survivors
This indirectly buffs flashlights. Killer can’t waste time fake picking up or chasing the flashlighter. Spicy

Why make it 100%for unbreakable when you have yet to keep any perk at 100% in recent years. Only a matter of time before they nerf it into oblivion

Current unbreakable only works one time, I’m not sure why the rework would buff it so much to make it permanent. Could be exactly the same but just with an addendum that it deactivates the first time the survivor is picked up from the dying state and it’d be about as strong as current version, no?

My initial reaction was, Oh hell no… But then I listened and thought about it… It's actually pretty balanced. It'll def change the game, considerably; but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm now excited to see how this plays out after the wear in period.

its an interesting change i do kind of like it the only downside is twins or oni or maybe plague especially twins though its going to be hard for them to pick up people especially if you are on very large maps but that might still be ok we just have to wait and see but those 3 and especially twins are probably going to feel this quite a bit
It's a good idea in theory, but I don't think it's a matter of how the community takes it; it's more killer-dependant than anything.
Nurse, Blight, Spirit, Slinger, Pyramid, etc don't have to slug too heavily because they're good killers and their abilities don't force them to. If you are Twins, Oni, Myers, or anyone that has a power that is timed, you now are under a lot of pressure because you could lose all pressure by trying to snowball and failing. Since no one went to pick up the other survivor on the ground, that whole time you tried to create pressure 2 other survivors were on gens and the downed person is back up.
The developers failed to consider they have a big roster of killers that don't all play the same.

Think this is overlooking the fact that them being able to get up means that now no one is going to come pick them up. Which means they are still on gens. And now that they know that their teammate will be able to pick themselves up, they aren't going to come to pick up slugs. Ever. So no pressure against gens at all.
when i heard about this change i was somewhat expecting they would do my idea that i had never shared but it's basically recovery speed is normal until you get to 95% then the progress slows down by 100% or whatever and once the progress is complete you can pick yourself up

This change could basically be called the "free no penalty body blocking" patch because there's literally no downside to body blocking with unlimited unbreakable
Idk, it kinda feels like a buff to flashlight flies and people on pallets. Also, kinda feels like a twins and hag nerf. :/ anyway, it’s nice to see your face, I like your piercings.

This could make SWF even more unstoppable. If everyone has unbreakable and someone goes down, 2 survivors with flashlights can easily just circle the killer for 20 seconds while the guy on the ground gets up and the last surv stays on gens, maybe doing them crazy crazy fast with Hyperfocus. It’s a situation where if you pick the guy up, you get blinded…and if you don’t, they get up themselves as many times as they want. And if they went down on a pallet, you might eat a fat stun and everyone gets away. I understand wanting to eliminate slugging, but this just sets up situations where you really can’t do anything as killer. Also further makes people want to play killers who can easily deal with being harassed like that
My biggest question is now will the final mori count as an actual hook? Say I need 1 more for my 9 to get iri will the mori count now that it’s automatic
Stop being in denial. this is bad for killers. This is another buff for survivors that guarantees a best case scenario where killers 3K and 4K becomes Super rare. By super rare I should probably make it clear that just because some of the number one top best players in the community will still eventually be able to get regular 4K‘s doesn’t mean everyone in the community is in the majority of the people you don’t know about probably aren’t. like most gaming companies behaviour is oblivious to the fact that it’s only the big names that represent the community who are unstoppable no matter what ridiculous changes killer nerfs survivor buffs they add.
My problem with this change is that the Ebony is an IRIDESCENT offering but seems like the Survivor Pudding is better? Like, why not give the killer 100k or something like that. C'mon BHVR, it's an iridescent offering, it should be ''op'' man

I kinda wonder if they plan on reworking No Mither since they're doing this. Like the whole appeal of the perk was the ability to self recover infinitely. The other 'benefits' are just to compensate for being perma-injured. Like sure it's always been a meme but the only good part it had is gone now.

I can see a future killer perk that reduces the recovery speed better than knockout. Like a hex maybe.
It won't be more time gained as killer though since it no longer requires the time of a second survivor to pick them up
I assumed that the survivor that is slugged would still have the same speed of recovery progress, so 30.4 seconds to 95%, but if they are there until 45 seconds is up, then they can finish the recover themselves. As opposed to the general recovery speed slowing down. But maybe I'm wrong.
I'm a killer main and i don't slug. I don't feel like that patch is meant for me

Slug is death, so the killers has no more way to speed down the gen rush, since there will be no pressure on that strategy.

as a survivor main base kit unbreakable is pretty dumb but then again it also makes me happy bc there’s losers out there who slug 3 people for 10 minutes at 4 gens for god knows what reason, so yeah both good and bad
The face cam makes the video more dynamic since we can see your expressions as you talk and all. Feels more personal.
It seems BHVR is going out of their way to counteract some of the more unpleasant aspects of the game killers partake in. Base kit BT for tunnelers, Reassurance for campers, and now unlimited unbreakable for the sluggers. So yeah, if I was a killer main who employs these tactics in matches I would not like the most recent updates.
Though I often just listen to these kinds of videos as audio while I do other stuff. I do like the face cam for the times I'm actually sitting down to watch them.

I think this update is a large piece of sheet. Firs of all, yes, I think giving survivors ability to picking themselves up is a really good thing, but only once, another way slugging is absolutely useless and in 90% of cases dead, also if surv falls in palet, and few teammates are near, you just cant pick him up and while you chasing his teammates he just gets up himself. The second thing is, killing mori it's also dumb, because if earlier you have a bad hooks spawn (only one hook in a large area), which often happens on midwich, you literally can't do anything with it without mori, because survivors definitely going to abuse that zones. Also this update will make hi mobility killers are stronger, because they can dawn multiple survivors fast, and usual m1 killers worse.
The last standing change is awful. It just makes the new mori the most efficient way for a killer to win the game, which means that it will always be the ending killers aim for. Why bother 12 hooking at all, if you can end the game with as few as zero hooks instead? coughnursecough
In reality, it'll increase tunneling and camping even more. Getting down to two or three survivors will be critical, and you can't slug. So just bait out the others with a hook timer.
And for some killers who can insta down or otherwise deny hatch (wesker/slinger), will just camp hatch instead of closing it. They can't slug their way out while you're wiping your blade anymore, they just die instantly. So we're back to hatch standoffs in another form.
