I don`t like the toonish colors. Also not a big fan of recent cosmetics and the skull merchants design. Everything else seems okey. These balls might be trackers to which you can teleport as shown in the trailer.
The map heavily reminds me of The Flood from Halo
Never in my whole entire life I'd see Nicolas Cage in a asymmetrical " horror " game when he's not even horror related like Bruce Campbell. This has to be one of the most questionable and weirdest newa I've ever heard honestly. Like who even asked for him at all? No hate it or anything i think Nicolas Cage being in this game is cool but so odd, i like him as an actor and all but like still…..weird….

I think that the pink gunk on the killer is stuff it has assimilated into itself the trailer kinda hints at this in Gabriel’s last line “it will kill us or worse” something along the lines of that, I also think the mori will show us this

The trailer said it wasn't PROGRAMMED to harm the crew. It was supposed to help us build a SAFER home. That sounds to me like it was a security thing meant to protect humans, and it didn't.

Since you said that DBD is looking to broaden their horizons with the genres that they bring into this game with the new map’s look and Nicholas Cage coming to the game it can open up the door for other characters from other genres and non horror franchises to come but I feel like characters from action genres would work best in terms of different genres they could bring in. One non horror character that people have been wanting in DBD for the longest time is Lara Croft from Tomb Raider and I can kind of see it since she was just in a Walking Dead mobile game not too long ago and her owners Crystal Dynamics have said that they wanna do a bunch of crossovers with Lara in a bunch of different games so I could see her coming to Dead by Daylight in the future.

My lore theory for the killer is that it was an ai that came into contact with some life form on this new planet and integrated itself into it, could explain why the trailer said it wasn’t designed to hurt the crew, or it could be some sort of defense robot corrupted by some creature and fused together

The killer looks more like a cosmetic of the Dredge. I don't get why the designers would give the Dredge a meat-scythe and then the "Robo"-Dredge alsom a scythe shaped weapon. Also, why would you release a "mechanical" killer, right after you released the SM, which is also focused on technology. They should have merged SM and this killer instead of having both. Bad campaign planning. I'm not impressed. Only the map seems interesting.
