The differences in the game lengths when the killer has good 4v1 is kind of incredible.
First
Lunging at drop downs lets you take advantage of the lunge speed, but without the cooldown for missing because you're falling down and stuck in a certain direction. It's only a small boost, but it helps at large enough drop downs where you aren't going straight forward.

The reason that pinny boy kept attacking while falling is because it allows you to catch up faster after a fall than just simply falling.
It's not a huge difference but it is significant enough to shorten certain loops.
