It is a one-versus-four (1 vs 4) game in which one player takes on the role of a Killer and the other four play as Survivors; the Killer must catch each Survivor and sacrifice them to an evil force known as the Entity by slicing them and hanging them on hooks, while the Survivors must avoid being caught and fix five generators to eventually open a gate to escape… but when there is one survivor remaining; a hatch opens somewhere randomly around the map… The Killer can shut this and make the Survivor be forced to open one of the gates.
