Dead By Daylight| Does DBD have a killer parity problem? My census results!

Read more Dead by Daylight ➜ https://deadbydaylight.mgn.gg

So today I noticed a Twitter comment on one of Dead By Daylight’s tweets from a player saying they’re sick and tired of facing Resident Evil killers in DBD! This is a sentiment I’ve heard quite a lot over the last few months and I’ve even heard from several people who have said they left the game because they were exhausted from facing so many Weskers. So does Dead By Daylight have a Wesker problem? Is he too strong?

I took a census of which killers I faced for the month of March to see how many Resident Evil killers I faced in a month compared to the rest of the killers available. Is DBD becoming Resident Evil by Daylight? Do we have a parity issue in DBD? Let’s look at the results of my killer census and discuss!

What do you think? Do you love all the Resident Evil content? Can there ever be too much? Or do you feel there’s a tangible lack of variety and that makes the game stale for you? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. At first I thought you were reading my comment! Because I wrote exactly the same, probably in the comments under your videos, that I'm sick of Nemesis and Wesker! I'm sick of "Resident Evil" even though I've NEVER played the franchise! There are really a lot of these characters in dbd! I don't understand how others can play them! I can't even hear their terror music, it immediately makes me vomit rkflex. When I see chests with serum at the beginning of a match, I immediately want to leave the game and not continue it.

  2. Speaking for EU-Servers, and my mediocre MMR, is it not that lopsided.
I don't take notes, so I just try to remember. But it doesn't feel RE heavy.
I am worried about the nerfs on Hillbilly. He is in a bad state.
The Hag needs a rework. These small changes doing nothing to make her more fun.

  3. I strongly disagree. Wesker is fine where he’s at. Honestly the best designed killer and if they nerf him I’m done playing this game. So dumb how everybody complains and gets things nerfed. Been playing since 2016 and playing Wesker is the most fun I’ve had.

  4. The survivors that complain about the Resident Evil killers are the same weirdo's that enjoy Hag matches and kill themselves on hook against fun killers like Leatherface and Wraith😂.

  5. Depends on the day I feel. Not joking I played 7 matches yesterday day and got Spirit 4 times and Myers 3 times. Literally saw 2 killers in 7 matches 😂.

  6. Am I the only one who almost NEVER sees Wesker? I'll play 5 or 6 hours a day, and maybe only run into 1 or 2 Weskers a week. It's actually a little sad, because I absolutely love going against Wesker. He's one of the only killers I find enjoyable from both a survivor standpoint and a killer one.

  7. I personally don’t have an issue with RE in the game but I can see ppls points on the matter. I am one of the ones wanting one more chapter with Lady D and a few more survivors from the franchise brought in but then I’d basically be done with RE for quite a while after that. Either way I feel where people are coming from, Wesker does get kinda old to face sometimes.

  8. i think people are overreacting. back in the day when there were less killers, no one really complained about a repeated killer. i think entitlement is running rampant in the dbd community these days.

  10. I luckily don't mind playing against Wesker or Nemesis but they certainly are 2 of the killers I play against the most. I think if any nerfs were made to the 2 of them it should be using the spray can/vaccine should not give killer instinct. This makes tunneling much easier, especially for Wesker. I think that is part of the reason his kill rate is so high.

  11. I mean do survivors expect killer players to select weak characters just for the entertainment sake of survivors? Like wtf? I didn't buy the game to cater to the needs of survivors. If you want variety then stop nerfing shit on the killer side. Then start making killers that are as good as wesker on a regular. Then you will see variety. However, the devs keep making dog shit killers and once in a blue moon give a good killer. The last top tier killer before wesker was blight and then from there on its just lack luster killer powers. So, want more variety? Make more strong killers like wesker. If survivors think the answer is just nerf wesker. Sure, then you get even longer waiting times than it already is. Incentives are almost always on the killer side. So, as much as survivors want variety, they need to be realistic. No one wants to play weak killers. No one wants to pick up the clown role to be entertain for 4 other people.

  12. I don't think that's a problem that can be fixed, to be honest. Not when there are 30+ killers in the game. Not all of them are even nearly close to others strength-wise, so players will naturally gravitate more towards those, who both feel best to play as and give best results. Wesker is one of those VERY RARE killers that can provide both – he can be fun to play as and also give good results consistently (if you play well enough). So nerfing him would be a very bad move imo – if anything, BHVR should incentivize players to play other killers, not disincentivize those players who enjoy Wesker and Nemesis the most from playing the game at all. It could be buffs to weaker ones, it could be incentives to BP or XP for playing killers with the smallest pickrates (kind of like they already have BP incentives for sides), something like that.

  13. Also, Wesker was popular pretty much always since he was released, but I haven't generally seen that much of Nemesis players. Only for the past like week or two there has been a sudden uprising of Nemesis players for some reason, which I can't comprehend. Maybe one of the DbD YouTubers made some video on Nemmie, which puts him in very good light? It can't be a "build video", because all of them have different builds. I have no idea what the reason for that is.

  14. I like RE, and i think it did great things for the game. But it does feel like i should just be playing a RE game when im playing DBD when its like 4 weskers in a row. They also mostly just tunnel someone out very very fast which sucks

  16. I LOVE the RE franchise, but I am a little fatigued by all the Sweskers I see every day. Most of them are very sweaty, have large hit boxes (similar to Huntress), and are very toxic. This is to say nothing of the crazy stuff that happens in game with him specifically like when you vault a window and he magically draws you back in.

  17. I agree the game would ideally be balanced with all killers but it's about how fun they are to play and I feel they made a great job of mastermind and I personally love to play against him too! Fun, able to be looped and mind games either side and has outplay both sides too and mobility. I also love facing him. P.s. I don't okay him as killer I'm a "new style" Knight main 😅

  18. They are just really well made characters and they’re really fun to play as and against. They’re also strong which makes it a fun challenging match. I get it feels stale but i don’t remember it being this much of a concern when Blight was every match or two. I’d understand repeated Spirits maybe but why Wesker and Nemesis? How can you hate a good design? I’d understand playing against Knight every game because he’s a poorly designed, boring and un-fun killer.

  19. I couldn’t even tell you the last time I saw Twins or Huntress. I did even see the Knight this entire tome that just passed. I see Skull Merchant so damn much it’s insane, I’m not complaining entirely because she’s at least enjoyable to look at during my 30 minute games against her. I also enjoying playing stealth builds on her.

  20. When wesker released I had about a week to get grom gold 1 to iri 1 solo queueing surv and I kid you not, every single game was a wesker and I honestly hate playing against him now, I genuinely get ptsd when I hear his terror radius which I find obnoxious, in the whole week I played a minimum of 6 hours a day and I faced one blight, every other game was a wesker , I have fun playing him but I really dislike playing against wesker

  21. What’s with the resident evil slander/hate?! People need to understand that DBD had two bad chapters back to back and they need to release awesome chapter for the 7th anniversary to keep people playing their game.

  22. I think resident evil has done A LOT of good for DBD- just like stranger things brought us a boost. I just don’t want the devs to completely rely on RE to get us those numbers.

I personally think Wesker is one of the most balanced killers in DBD. Similar to Blight he’s extremely strong, but the survivors also have counter play. Making it a fun experience and there’s a learning curve for both sides to play as and against. If anything maybe his infection rate could be tweaked. It’s a little annoying to get hooked then you still have that infection building at X rate- but that’s the only thing I would tweak about Wesker.

  23. Sadako and Freddy, two top licenses, are in such a horrible spot, its unreal. Why are their killrates that good on average in september? Because the 4 people playing these characters know what they do.
