This video should've been made in another 6 months…
I like tcm alot more, seems to be alot less toxic, also tcm has mutiple ways to win as has been stated.Dbd used to have perks for only certain survivors but they changed it and now anybody can use any perk. I have also been around for both launches and reqlly like bith and they're competely different, only thing in common is horror survival, and well bubba.
I’m preferring TCM over DBD right now but… I think there’s room for a lot of improvement. I think that the issue with TCM is that we won’t get other killers like Freddy Krueger or Jason Voorhees so I feel it’s going to become boring quite quickly! With survivors it’ll be fun to an extent of this being a fresh new game but I do feel that’ll become boring aswell at some point, they can’t exactly take characters such as Ash Williams or Leon S. Kennedy this is TCM not DBD. I worry for the future of this game. I was never a fan of F13 but this has gripped me for the moment I guess we will have to wait and see
TCM is Evolve, F13th and Evil Dead all over again. Month or two, people are hyped about it. After the starting hype and excitement starts to wear off, people will see how much it actually lacks of content and depth, and see the games shortcomings. I'll give this game 6 months tops
I have moved to TCM and I'll never look back. DBD has always been a shit game, but TCM just blows it out the water.
The 2 minute escapes are what's not fun about TCM. I've already left tcm and headed back to DBD
I don’t think they will do anything about it because the average player won’t be able to escape that quickly for example, I lose more matches then I win so if they made it harder for people to escape. I think it would only hurt the people that want to play casually.
Dead by daylight is a worse game simply 'couse of its nature, you can't balance it no matter what you do.
Tunneling, camping, gen rushing, soloQ, swf, top tier killers, low tier killers……..how can you balance with all of these things in mind? if you buff killer 'couse swf is op solos suffer, if you buff solo 'couse it sucks to play, low tier killers suffer, if you remove tunneling completely a lot of games would become unwinnable since dbd seems to have tunneling as the catch up strategy, you buff gen regression 'couse gens go too fast? soloQ becomes unplayable once again vs the majority of killers.
TCM doesn't have those problems, there is voice communication so they don't need to worry about premades, if a map has a problem they can just add a door, if family doesn't get enough points they can just buff it, there is no such thing as tunneling in the game, if a family or victim is underused they can buff him and tune him, if fuse is overpowered they can nerf it a bit, if you don't like getting stunned for 10 minutes they can add a deminishing return and so on….there aren't flaws that are unfixable like on dbd.
Good video, I agree they are different games. Tcm is more or less to me its own game that marries the ideas gun had for friday the 13th, and general looping strategies as dead by daylight. Outside of that they are vastly different, but I just personally believe fundamental all asyms with looping are generally the same. Just with their own flavor. Like ice cream!
I'm adoring TCM at the moment. I find it so relaxed and there are plenty of fun objectives to do! Plus it has just launched so I'm sure they will have plenty more ideas coming our way!
I just haven’t enjoyed TCM at all
That fast escape is insane 😬 But I can see how TCM could become superior to DBD due to all of the more realistic features and the unique systems, such as noise and Grandpa
Lmao, the game and PLAYER BASE are both new…. Of course those early games had a ton of Family, who had 0 idea how to play so easy escapes happen…
My first game was like 5 -8 mins and i won unscratched… NEVER again has that happened cause the game isnt rocket science and it balanced out fast…
Dead By Daylight, no debates & no argument necessary 🤷🏾♂️
The reason people keep comparing both games to each other is because every single other asymmetrical horror game that has come out besides Dead By Daylight has either been shut down, or otherwise fallen off a cliff in terms of popularity.
(just to name some: Video Horror Society, The Evil Dead, Friday the 13th…)
When Hunt: Showdown is legitimately the closest game to DBD that's still both operational and regularly played by more than a tiny handful of people (and even that is questionable based on one's definition of "tiny") then that genre of game is kinda messed up, to put it politely.
DBD is like more Archadey
I was still debating on getting it, giving it a few days to Marinate yk. But i think ima give it a go now
When I played TCM for the first time it was very much more like Friday the 13th the video game than Dead By daylight to me.
Cook does alot of damage though, his base stat is higher than Johnny
The fact that there is so many things you can do in TCM and escape different ways and every game feels different. I dont know it doesn’t really compare to DBD at all to me bc they have different scares and wayyy different gameplay.
With alien coming to dbd its going to shoot up
I feel like it would be hard to play either side in Tcm unless you have friends?
Dbd boring, TCM fun
First and foremost… I peep the NF Real hat and I love it. Moving on though I think TCM is going to do well for a little while until people get bored of doing the same thing over and over. And since there's only so many characters they can add being the game is based solely off the lore I think it will slowly die out. DBD has stayed around for 7 years because of their diversity and nee content always coming in. TCM doesn't have that same freedom so while it is an extremely fun game and challenging too I think it will slowly lose traction kind of like Friday the 13th did so many years ago. All these games are similar but very hard to compare to each other. Each of them are unique and offer very different playstyles. All in all TCM has done extremely well for its initial release I just wonder how long can they keep the hype going
I love the new game but dbd never gets old
Simple if you like playing Killer and play Texas chainsaw if you like survivor play DBD when they make a game with both in one then we won’t need another game
I actually like that TCM is poppin. Maybe DBD will switch things up
I felt personally attacked by that Skull Merchant comment XD
Love the NF hat! Been in love with that artist for years now! Have you seen him in concert?
Can’t wait for killer clowns from outer space to come out. It also looks super fun
They need to fix the cheese exit on gas station. Once a gate is unlocked someone in the family team just isn't allowed to play. They have to dedicate one member to watch the door. So lame.
Compairing things is a joy killer. Maybe just have fun with both or move on from one?
I feel like TCM is far less stressful
I have never lost interest in a game so fast. DBD is honestly a joke. It's a mess of a game with inherently problematic gameplay design choices. A lazy game shoddily thrown together by incompetent developers. The only reason they have done so well is because there's no other game like it, especially with the licenses.
Imo these games can’t be compared tbh
They need to make games last longer. It's not fun if Connie just sprints to a toolbox, gets two picks and just escapes in 90 seconds
I think experience tells us they are different, but if we step back a little and look at them as games in a genre, they are very similar and I do think the player bases clash. There are really not many successful options in this genre, so these two games for the most part are going to be what people are choosing from. And this game takes 1000% less time dedicated to geometrical perfection, so you can actually play the game pre-1k hours and enjoy it.
Please leave this game exactly like it is. Friday the 13th was great and lasted for years. Let this game be like that. A fun party game that's unbalanced and OP in areas on both sides.
TCM will in my view fail. because since 2017, Twitch has arose, and led to a phenomenon, of massively over-playing games. It means games are swamped with people who play 50-100 hours a week, and in the long term 100-1000 times more hours than typical players. It means they unlock everything at ridiculous pace, and then win easy and dominate in many many games, because they are simply in so many games. If you play 100 x more games than a typical player, it means you are in 100x more games. So new and normal players meat them all the time. It ruins the matchmaking and the game, and causes them to die.
When a game releases, such as Evil Dead, VHS, or TCM, there is massive surge in player and games played, due to these people, who massively overplay. All scrambling to the top players and streamers for the game. They start posting ez wins, 4k wins, win streaks by the end of the first week, and in those games and between them they start to run off on mass, normal and new players.
DbD has managed to survive because it pre-dated this phenomenon, and by the time it get going around 2020, they already had a sizable player base, based on multiple licenced killers. And that is how they have survived it.
TCM will either die like Evil Dead and VHS< and others now forgotten, (like ghost busters, etc). Or it wil;go the way of Deceive Inc and Hunt showdown, with a niche player base, built out of a mixture of true long term fans, and massively over playing players and streamers, who strangle the game and stop further growth. I think in the case of TCM, it will go the way of Evil Dead and VHS.
Once the swarm of massively overplaying wannabes have run all the normal people away, the game will collapse, and then they will leave.
If only people would stop mistaking massively overplaying, for skill, this could be stopped. The alternate solution is that game companies need to start fencing off these massively over playing players from week 1, ruthllessly, so that they can only play with each other, and not ruin games for others over and over and over, pretending that over playing and over analysing the game, massively, are skill. Its not. playing a game to death, and unlocking all the OP elements to kill new players and normal players is not skill or clever. Its just what anyone would get if they massively overplayed a game 100-1000 times more than anyone else.
