In this video we take a look at the reasons why I personally don’t see Home Sweet Home: Survive as much of a threat to Dead By Daylight’s horror asymmetrical throne.

  1. It's the same everytime. When F13th came out people said it will kill DbD. When Last Year came out people said it will kill DbD. HSH is simply the next in line. They get some early hype because it's new and fresh but none of those games have any longevity.

  2. I'd agree with your analysis of the gameplay loop in comparison to DBD but I think HSH is about resource management, just in a different way. I haven't played HSH a ton but it seems like where your resources in DBD are pallets, your resource to manage in HSH are the items.

  3. As we have a lot of choice to play a lot of games, it's good for the players but dbd will still be number one. However, I want hsh to make the game better. I am sure the hsh team will not leave players and will continue to improve the game even though the hsh team has a small budget. But they want to encourage their country to develop games into more game development industries.

  4. I think people overestimate Home Sweet Home a little bit too much. I mean, it's not a bad game by any means, but it's just as much of a "competitor" to DbD as Last Year and Hide or Die were. The closest DbD ever got to an actual competitor was F13 back when both those games were just starting out… and we all know how that went. Expecting HSH to kill DbD is like expecting WoW to be killed by some random new Asian MMO – it just won't happen, ever. Sure, HSH has a lot of potential, but it doesn't have enough content or substance as a whole yet. So there are only two ways it's gonna go: 1) Somewhere in 2022-2023 HSH shuts down the servers; 2) Devs get enough revenue to keep servers up and keep making content, being more-or-less strong #2 among assymetrical horrors. But nothing more than that, let's be real here. Where else can you be chased by Freddy Krueger on the streets of Haddonfield as Steve Harrington with Ash Williams, Heather Mason and Bill Overback in your team? So yeah. AND it's getting Resident Evil content soon, which makes Dead by Daylight first official full-fledged videogame, which has characters from Resident Evil AND Silent Hill at the same time. It's quite literally insane.

  5. I don’t believe it will even force the devs to work harder, most people are going to stick with dbd regardless of that game and dbd has a niche cut out we’re it’s hard to create competition. There just isn’t enough demand for a competitor to thrive.
