  1. it's simple : this mode is unfair as a survivor :

    – You play against 2 killers, simple coordination make it impossible to loop and all your chases last for about 10s max
    – It's a no variety fiesta you play against the same 3 killers : nurse huntress wraith every game.
    – And they are giga buffed with basekit bitter murmur and nowhere to hide and basekit add on. Except billy who is nerfed : that's why no one plays him.
    – In return survivor are nerfed with coms on killer side + no perk and pointless bonus compared to what killer gets. It should be the opposite
    – The fact there are 3 doors and 2 killers is unfair because at the end you're more likely to be stuck with the killer on your door, it's 33% chance of escaping vs 50% in 1v4. And since they have permanant aura read, you have no perk and they are stronger makes it impossible to survive
    – The anti camping mechanic can be abused by killers to fool your team making them run toward you for minutes cause the map is so big, they follow your team and unlucky you're getting teleported back to the opposite of the map, securing a hook stage

    And this mode is draining out too many survivor so if you don't enjoy and wanna stick to 1v4, you can't. It's either accept long gueue as killer / being complete fodder for killers willing to waste their time in queue.

    As a killer main, I hate it, atleast with anniversary event if you didn't like it you could go back to normal, not this time

  2. I can understand the frustrations with Survivor.
    I think 2v8 is fun! But if I were to choose I'd still much rather play the base game as Survivor. Perk combos, plenty interaction with the killer and the loops, items, altruism and so on.

    A lot of altruism in 2v8 is removed. Partially I understand why and I think BHVR was really smart in not designing a perk that gave: FTP – Buckle Up. They need to be careful with this because allowing Survivors to play altruistically can cause the same queue issues but in reverse.
    At the same time, it really is a shame because Survivors don't have that much to do! Pallet saves and flashlight saves are gone. Taking a hit is something you never want to do because you lose more than you gain from that interaction. The usual altruism you think about in 1v4 is simply gone in 2v8.

    My main gripe is: Why don't I get a sound notif that lets me know a second killer is chasing me? I've had so many downs that could've been avoided if the game gave me a little: "Double Teamed!" BP gain or something like that idk.

    2v8 killer is a blast. Teamwork is very satisfying and the courtesy of giving last kill is something that I very much enjoy.
    BHVR did a good job far as killers go. They just need to find the sweet spot for Survivors too because they're really struggling.

    I do think that this was a good spot for them to start and if they continue to improve on this concept then I have no doubt we'll see 2v8 exclusive items and more killers added to the mode and many more tweaks in the future!

  3. Tbh they should add all killers you can already combine nurse and huntress wich is already a top 5 and top 1 killer combined and just allow all perks its unranked anyway so who gives a shit

I think they should make it 10 gens but make killers actually have to take you to hook because of the insane amount of people who would waste time going for saves I think it would balance out and saves are one of the most fun parts of dbd that and add perks back classes are cool but I want my 8 man no mither run at least once

  5. A mystic or sage class could be run. Potentially could even give them the ability to cycle through various boons. Maybe press E to cycle through various boons (no more than 4 so not to be lengthy). Allow Mystic to see what boons are in play via colors. Red, Yellow, Blue, etc … Give them Aura reading when a killer is near a totem and survivors near them see Auras of killers in booned areas.

    Another could be Scavenger that works like you said where they are able to get better items in chests, and by either working on a generator or opening/rummaging through a chest get tokens to allow them to build traps for the killer. Like they get Chem Trap or Blast mine, and rather than just being limited to where they can place them, they can place them anywhere on the map. When a killer triggers one of their traps the Aura of the killer is revealed.

    The mode for me is fun, I actually enjoy playing survivor in in because I don't need to worry about things and I know what other survivors have because I see their class icon. In my view, Guide is the weakest class because it doesn't add enough to be fun. Scout is somewhat useful at getting aura on the killer knowing where they are. Guide only really works letting people know what Gen you are working on. It requires people to pay attention to it.

  6. I have a ton of fun as survivor in 2v8. I played this mode exclusively and I can say that many survivors HATE when killers have fun. I love the simplicity and chaos in it. I had games so varied even with 5 maps, 4 clssses and 5 killers than I got in a month of regular DBD. The biggest issue is grades not applying in this mode. Sometimes I escape, sometimes I die and the game ends anywhere from 0 to 8 kills. Rarely more than 6 kills though. I find it fun and balanced. I also had fun as killer too, something I cannot experience in the normal game. Normal killer games and annoying and stressful and I don't find joy in them. If the rituals, challenges and grade rewards were not divided into roles most of the time, I would NEVER touch killer. It's not a killer issue because I get on average 3 kills per match. It's a fun issue. I know many people feel the same way. BHVR knows that without BP incentives, many people wouldn't play killer either. 2v8 made killer be fun and survivors hate that. They csnnot bully their play things because the killer's teammate can come over and shut them down instantly.

  7. You'd think that double the survivors would mean double the people on gens but that also means double the people doing nothing, which i find so annoying. Already ive had countless 2v8 games where 1/8 people are on a gen, in most cases people are all healthy so they have no reason to not get on gens.

  8. My three thoughts:

    1. Don’t make incentives such as tome challenges that have survivors initially do anything but gens.

    2. Regularly Mix up Killers and even Survivor roles (if possible), otherwise it’s going to quickly lead to a really stale meta since there’s no perks.

    3. Let survivors recover from the dying state, slugging isn’t necessary in this mode.

  9. A good 2v8 is definitely possible I mean identity V has done it since 2018 and it's really fun with its own unique rules for a match. Survivors in the game already have their own unique powers and abilities. Couple that with an extra Health state to prevent you from being down to instantly by two well timed attacks and a phone booth that acts as a shop for you to buy items (for both Survivor and killer). It's a chaotic game mode that actually manages to work.

  10. The reason why i don't really like playing survivor here is because i just…. Don't have anything to do really just gens, and sometimes cage saves but that's oretty much it.
    I would dare say that if killer is so fun because of all the combos they can make i say to finally give an actual POWER to every survivor like for example Mikaela can create a totem and boon it where she wants but once per trial (this is just an example don't shoot me in the knees please XD)
