  1. The thing that makes the IP leak even worse is that the hacker group that Choy interviewed actually warned him and were concerned about it happening and admitted that they don't know how other hackers are doing this. The fact that hackers seem to give more of a shit about this than mother fucking BHVR is honestly mind boggling. really speak volumes what they are like as a company if they let this go on….

  2. Played my first game of killer since the rank reset today and my first game was going fine, got 2 hooks at 5 gens and then I went after a meg who was on console or epic games and in a two stack, who took the first hit and then ran directly into basement where I downed her. When I tried to pick her up my game froze and I got disconnected. Neither of the megs in the two stack had perks or anything so my brain immediately went cheaters especially since my game has never done that without there being some sort of cheater involved.

  3. In my opinion, in every situation, there are high, medium and low priorities for us to solve the problem and i think right now, Blatant cheaters who holds the games hostage is the top priority for BHVR to fix.

They can start introducing a streamer program where streamers can submit their profile for them to verify so that they can remove the dc penalty permanently for these streams. Of cos they can have an internal guideline that the streamer must be streaming DBD for x period for the last x months so that no Tom, Dick or Harry can just submit their profile claiming to be a DBD streamer to enjoy the perma dc ban removal.

Afterwhich, they can slowly implenent new ways to improve their reporting system so that we can report subtle cheaters with ease and not going through the hassle of reporting it like how we are doing it now. They should also do something about players who just reports non-reportable cases when the new report system comes live so as to make the reports more genuine.

Then lastly, they can fix the game to implement more solid anti cheat programs so that cheaters can no longer use their cheats easily or update their game frequently. One way of doing it is by having weekly maintenance to update the anti cheat system but of cos since they are using all kinds of platform, they have to burn a little bit of money but this money burnt will help them generate so much more income in the future

  4. Terrible as the cheaters are- and they are a problem that sadly will not go away- we need to address the reason for their blatant presence so much more now than a few years past:

    It’s because of the streamers.

This should shock absolutely nobody. For years, streamers have made a sizable profit and garnered what many would classify as “unwarranted attention” by posting videos on social media, attracting discourse about this game and amassing a sizable following. This has made them “famous” for lack of a better word and in so doing, have painted a target on them.

What would be a solution? Ideally, stop streaming the game. Doing so attracts hackers, because they seek the same clout the streamers do. There are literally thousands of options out there and granted, many might become infuriated and even nervous at the prospect of letting go of their favorite grift.

You can still practice your “craft”. Just learn to adapt and find a better, safer avenue

  5. As another long time player I hate feeling this disheartened by cheating in this game. When I used to play killer frequently I also started getting paranoid about if people were cheating in my games, ( found a double DS, multiple exhaustion perks going off at once, etc.) They really need to fix these problems in a meaningful way. I fear that mmr only made it easier for cheaters to find streamers even though I like it in general.

  6. As a survivor, the first time I experienced griefing, which is when a co-survivor sides with the killer to murder everyone except the griefer, I felt utterly dismayed and disappointed. I know this isn't discussed in the video, but I thought I'd share about this growing unfair behavior in the game, albeit it's not as worse as hacking cheaters. Griefing makes me very untrusting as a survivor and might ultimately make me quit playing DBD, so I hope the devs do something about it too.

  7. It’s not just streamers. I’ve seen loads of hacking and I’d rate myself as a very average player. The games is borderline unplayable. With a high mmr you will see mostly TTV SWF (not their fault the game is so badly balanced but you as killer still have very sweaty games as a result ). Or you see lots of hackers or worse you get subtle hacking that’s virtually impossible to detect. If they can’t stop script kiddies then let people leave a game without penalty and have the ability to avoid players in the future. I’d rather deal with rage quitting team mates or opponents than hackers

  8. I actually played against my first hacker recently. I thought they were bugged for 90% of the game but they ended up insta-escaping.
This happened to me once and I could laugh it off as a one time experience but I can’t image what streamers have to go though.
I really hope BHVR can do something, anything to fix the problem.

  9. I play on Switch and have encountered hackers several times and reported them (One of my survivor teammates was giving me all of the passive buffs like vigil, streetwise, openhanded, etc). Thankfully a screenshot can show that something is off there, but since the Switch doesn’t allow for screen capturing, I can’t get footage of survivors running slightly faster than normal, or teleporting across the map. I’m not sure why we can’t screen capture DBD matches on switch, other than maybe the Switch lacks the processing power to record that and play an online game, but it’d be a nice feature to gather evidence on hackers.

In short, being able to prove someone is hacking is difficult on Switch, even if the hacks are obvious.

  10. Also what blows my mind (and the fact that nobody mentions this) is that when you report something you have to privide a stupidly long and complicated ID conisting of 30+ numbers and letters that – for some reason – cannot be selected and copied to the clipboard and pasted in, you have to MANUALLY TYPE IT OVER letter-by-letter, number-by-number.
    Just wow…

  11. BHVR is incompetent ? Say it aint so !
Between the cheater/hacking problem, the IP leakage and BHVRs lack of care for their fog whisperers they decided that now is the time to make UB basekit and force moris on last down.
Gotta have your priorities sraight i guess.

  12. They just gotta drop the ban you get from quitting. It might mean more people quit but really it won’t matter cause you can too, there’s no penalty. Plus some games just aren’t worth playing, like face camping bubbas would almost go extinct, everyone would just quit and they’d get next to no bloodpoints for that play-style

  13. anonymous mode is empowering the cheaters. i filed a report against a cheating claudette with screenshots as proof, then some days later a dbd staff sent me an email asking for additional info bc they were having difficulty at tracking the cheater but i simply couldnt provide any bc i couldnt see their profile to get an id

  14. It’s not just unfun for streamer the game sucks in general… if it isn’t a hacker it’s some asshole killing themselves on first hook on 5 gens… when 2/10 games are normal it’s infuriating. I went from playing daily for hours with friends (friends have now quit the game) to playing about 4 matches a week… I can’t even enjoy watching my favourite streamers because of the things you’ve stated in the video if BHVR doesn’t address this now the game is finished.

  15. I've been playing this game for almost three years. And I've been screaming at the top of my lungs about hackers for definitely more than a year now. 🙃
It seems the only things the development care about are licenses/new content/cosmetics, changing the game completely, nerfing pig, and telling us everything is fine……
I'm really starting to feel let down, because this is one of the most fun games I've EVER played. And it seems the devs like laughing in our face about our struggles.
One would think that Canadians would be a nice group of people. But I guess that the reality is, BHVR doesn't care about the game AT ALL, all they want is our money…..

  16. Another useless comment about a partial Problem, which is not showing the real Problem in the first place. You have no technical expertise and absolutly no clue what you are talking about. Exactly as Spooky, Otz, Potatoe and so on… It's was designed as a PEER 2 PEER Game. Client A) was DIRECTLY connected to Client B) and ALL VALIDATIONS happens on the Clients. All what they changed with the dedicated Servers is: Survivors have a much worse Ping than before because now they have a detour connection to the Authority Part, which is the Killers Client and NOT A SERVER. There is NO SERVER AUTHORITY at ANY POINT and THAT!!!!!! is the Problem. It will fix swings from Mars and it will fix 99% of all Cheater Problems. THIS is the Real Problem of this Game and it can be fixed, but not by an incompetent Comapny like BHVR who couldn't even make a "Grab-/Hit-/Pallet-/Dead Hard- Server-Validation" bring to work.

  18. It’s sad to hear this as your my fave dbd player to watch love the build ideas the match ideas etc. but as someone who has given up on dbd because of constant problems I so get what you mean and it’s great that you among other influential players are putting pressure and attention on behaviour. They need to sort their games out.

  19. Just today I played against a cheater. The first cheater I've ever encountered in the 2 years I've been playing this game and to top it off, I forgot to record clips to submit the full report 🙁
