Every Useless Thing in Dead by Daylight

There is a lot of stuff in DbD. Perks, addons, lore, mechanics, and much more. As a result, not all of it ends up being entirely useful. Today we’re looking over every single useless thing I could think of that’s in Dead by Daylight.

At the time of this video’s release Chapter 31 has been released, with new killer The Unknown and survivor, Sable Ward! We also recently got the 7.0.0 PTB which finally brought along a rework to The Twins.

  1. On dbd mobile there's a praise system. You get two presents every time a player praises you. When you get enough presents, you can redeem a reward like BP, iri shards for example. Mobile has a few similar qol features that the core game desperately needs.

  2. There is one niche aspect of coins that matters based on killer: Several killer objects like Plague's fountains and Xenomorph's control stations spawn in chest locations, but chests spawn first. If you have a cut coin, that means the game can generate one in a spot that normally would've been taken by a chest, and can be far closer than the other spot.

  3. You know what I want? A regressing door switch. It is just silly that whatever system you are trying to activate to open the door just revs up to 99% and just lets itself sit there. No, it should start winding back down if you aren't going to open it. You can debate the speed of regression but I think it should regress regardless. Or if not that, allow the killer to manually mess up the switch to make it take longer.

  4. I normally use my survivor build for survivor revolving around my chest. I do wish they have more items in the game. i wish the devs focused more on the survivor side of items.

Like i had an idea if they implement voice chat like proximity chat. We get walkie-talkie, and the devs force survivors to use the chat. While also having maybe basekit or a perk to hold multiple items. Can also have the killer get chat also hearing other survivors. I feel like this will shake up meta perks.

Also not saying this gane killer sided or survivor sided i just wish they concentrate more giving survivors more then just a new skin and perks.

  5. New update:

Luck: based on how much luck the survivors have, the higher chance that the killer will be a boop the snoot TTV pig who cares about the survivors’ mental health

  6. I've brought this up with friends before so i'd like to hear your thoughts.

We can have locked chests in the trials that require keys for a better item(s). As for the keys themselves they can already be in trials just waiting to be picked up by a survivor as a secondary item

  7. Luck should be a flat % added to skill checks and chest items. Unhooking yourself shouldn't be possible without the use of a perk, though perhaps survivors should still have the option to struggle to hurry up the timer.

  8. I would like the thumbs up after match thing, instead giving me a likelier chance to queue up into that ally. Especially as a 5k solo survivor only, it's nice to come across people you can get communication with without any words. Likewise for the reverse when it comes to trolls/cheaters/etc. giving me a less likely chance to queue with them on my team, or even a straightup avoid system like dota.

  9. my personal idea for the green key is: give it 60 seconds of use and the aura reading. sure seeing the aura of the killer for that long is a bit busted but when it comes down to it, it eventually either runs out, they die or they escape. you cant use it for hatch so why not a little extra love.

  10. Secret offerings ideas:

Secret survivor offerings are visible to the entire team, just not the killer.

    Hatch/basement offerings are secret

Killers and survivors share the same shrouds, survivors can use the shroud to spawn separate and killers can use the shroud to make survivors spawn together

Here’s the probably more controversial take, make map offerings iridescent, and make them secret. Less map offerings will be burnt as a result (will take time as people will still have hundreds of them on current p100s, but long term this slows down the rate of map offerings), and make them secret, so the other side can’t go “oh they burnt garden of joy im gonna play scummy” or “oh killer brought Lerys it’s probably Myers other ghostface or something”

Wards are secret except sac wards because it doesn’t seem too necessary to have it secret. If a sac ward is used but there is no map offering to cancel, return the sac ward unused. Sac wards will reveal the hidden map offering to all players upon canceling out the offering.

  11. Crow perk (killer)
-If a survivor scares 25 crows in a trail the crows will get around the survivor for 3 seconds and show the killer where the suvivor is(cooldown of 45 seconds)
    Crow perk (survivor)
-5 white crows now spawn around the map.If the killer scares all the white crows next time he picks up the survivor that has the perk on he will get attack by the crows and let the survivor free(last 3 seconds) (it's only active in the first 3 min of the game after that the crows will turn in to normal crows)

  12. I think devotion is a thing only so the player level wouldnt exceed the space on the emblem, because there are some players that have an enormous level and the number would branch outside the space.

  13. okay, gonna lay down a thought on mori offerings:

I think they're fine, except for Cypress.

I personally feel that mori-ing the final survivor should be base-kit.
So what would Cypress be, then, you may ask?
    Simple.
It allows you to mori a death hook obsession. Basically just a worse version of the Ivory mori, being locked only to the obsession. This would allow players who need to do moris for dailies and tomes to be able to use these otherwise mostly useless mori offerings without making them cracked. Meanwhile, it also makes moris basekit so that you don't have to burn 3000 bp for a chance of pulling off a mori (assuming you don't have one of the perks that give you free moris, this is mostly a QoL for casual players).

  14. you know, I do wish the luck stats effect would do more then just for the hook. like one thing you burn add-on that increase the chance of spawn hatch within (x) amount distance of your player or something?

  15. Crow perk ideas down below:

    Survuvour perk: Snitches
For every altruistic action such as healing a healthstate, unhooking, taking a hit, etc. gain 1/2/3 tokens up to 6. After approaching a crow without disturbing it, spend 3 tokens to tame a crow. This crow will not be disturbed by any survivour passing by for the next 120 second. If a killer passes by a tamed crow in a span of it's duration a loud notification for killer is created at the location of where a crow was tamed and killers Aura will be revealed for 5/7/9 second to all survivours

  16. A simple crow perk would be to have angered crows circle the player who upset them for a small bit. Like 2 or 3 seconds. Just as a little extra tracking so that if a player is hiding behind a rock you can see a crow circling above them. Have no limit on the range of the perk so that it's not just Spies from the Shadows 2.

  17. I think the usefulness of some addons, offerings and items is subjective but any issue with it would almost entirely be solved by adding a feature that allows us to sell the ones we don’t use snd buy the ones we do

  18. Have to dosagree with coins. If you use plunderers, the elodie perk for rummaging and aces perk for free add ons, say in a 2 man swf with 2 people using this and 2 coin offerings you can get a shit ton of free good items with good add ons as those 3 perks synergise. Yeah its a bit memey but with a good team it can help a bunch! Free med kits woth styptic agents! So many free beamers! Very fun.

  20. Coins actually affect some killers power. Cut coin will be good for xeno, plague amd other killers with powers which share chest spawns. I know its unintended, but still

  21. My suggestion for luck to make it more viable but also not cause too much randomness is to have it apply to items found in chests, the accuracy of flashlights, the speed of charge-based perks like pebble or stake out, and my favorite: have it work with the obsession mechanic. For example if you bring object of obsession and a luck offering, you’re more likely to spawn as the obsession thanks to your higher luck. meanwhile bringing a key with a unique ring plus a luck offering decreases your chance of spawning in as the obsession. basically it enhances whatever direction your chance of being the obsession goes. but this only works for who spawns as the obsession, if a survivor uses for the people or the killer has game afoot the obsession will still change accordingly. and for a little bit of chaos: if a survivor brings a map offering and has higher than the standard 4% luck, that difference is added to the probability of which map you get. so if you have up the ante and bring eyrie, the chance of going to eyrie goes from +10,000 to +10,009. Almost no real impact but it WILL be blamed for the match being brought to a bad map
