15 seconds without getting a hit in chase (especially in a strong tile) should be a sign to just leave. Killers tend to overcommit way too much.
The longer the game goes on, the higher the chance to make a comeback. Focusing on 1 person even though they are destroying you isn't gonna do anything other than getting you in a video/tweet showing it all.
