Tbh, I don’t think players with 200 hours should have access to all perks on all characters. I’m fine with them working for it. I’m just a bit worried I’ll feel like I’ve got nothing to buy cuz I’ll have everything I need.
This system was absolutely taken from VHS but VHS handles it better because for one, the skill trees are Minuscule compared to the size of Dbds blood webs, along with that, the lack of a lot of characters, this allows the players to equally play everyone as it’s not a lot ask people to play a total of 8 different characters 5 teens 3 monsters, what can take dbd players months to do can take VHS players a couple of weeks to do, it works for VHS because it’s small, dbd made the wrong move trying to copy the way VHS handles perks
They could fix the grind a lot by default by removing the cap to each category. Keep the cap at 32k per match without modifiers though. Also, the grind reduction by "75%" was always suspect. This is classic BHVR: in theory the idea was amazing, in practice it accomplishes exactly nothing that they aimed to provide. I do think the new system is a nice QOL change and welcome it but straight lying about the grind reduction is pretty suspect.
I’m actually that guy that plays all survivors; because I understood early on that was the most “efficient” way to “grind” bloodpoints. Wouldn’t have been my preference to do it that way, but gotta use all those bloodpoint offerings.
As a Dwight, Meg, Jake, Ace, David, Quinton, Kate, Jeff, Nancy, Steve, Yui, Zarina, Felix, Elodie, Yun Jin, Leon, Yoichi main I feel wronged.
Sarcasm aside I do actually play all of these survivors cause I have a love for meme builds and used the survivors like preset loadouts before the update that gave us preset loadouts. I also detest sticking to meta so most of my survivors avoid reusing perks so that I don’t get too used to them and become reliant.
i thought about this too bc i wanted to get off the record on the ptb and i was like its the first perk unlocked lets goo , less bp to waste getting zarina to lvl 40. then i realized there was no teachable at lvl 30 and i’m like oh yea i have to spend a lot more bp than i intended. ended up not having enough to prestige and just got back on live servers lol.
I like the prestige rework, especially for killer. but they should award something for each prestige. I was thinking something like 1 prestige = extra 100k bp cap, 1 prestige = -1 bp cost on bloodweb, 1 prestige = 0.5% extra bp at the end of the match or something like that. Also remove the cost for prestiging, 50k to prestige is dumb
With the new prestige system, It will FORCE you to go through 3 full prestige's of a character to unlock tier three of that perk on other character. Instead of 1 prestiege, and x amount of levels to get tier 3 of that perk. Now you have to do that for EVERY character to get all the teachable perks…
I haven't seen how it works yet, but I assume you can only do P1 and then level the sharables in the bloodweb of the survivor you want to main, no? Or do you HAVE to P3 to get those perks lvl 3?
I totally agree with Scott, wrong demographic being targeted, but surely it's not that horrible right :)))
While I agree with a lot of this video (mostly about the grind reduction doing little to benefit Survivors), I think there's one thing you're understating.
If you go through the "Lv 40 Dredge, then get his perks on all the other Killers, who are all maxed out" maths and spend 9M BP on it, that assumes that not only are all your other Killers totally maxed out (because if you're still missing perks that 9m BP might be spent on those missing perks instead of Dredge), but your Dredge is only going to be level 40 and will likely have a LOT of perks you'll still want on it. 9M BP spent and your Dredge is still gonna have a pretty underwhelming build and not many addons, so you need to spend even more BP unless you got VERY lucky while levelling.
If the Killers you want Greg's perks on are not maxed out yet, those maths get SUBSTANTIALLY more out of control and probably take the grind reduction efficiency closer to 75%
Meanwhile under the new system, once you've spent that 4.5M, Dredge will not only be better off (because you'll have all the perks and addons you unlocked on the way), but your other Killers will have everything on them without having to waste BPs fishing for them if your Killer isn't already maxed out.
Us nerds who've totally maxed out our Killers are in the minority, and this change massively benefits anyone who HASN'T done that by removing the RNG of when your Killer is going to get the perk you want.
EDIT: Also the Shrine of Secrets change is massive because immediately giving you the perk you want in ALL KILLER'S BLOODWEBS is ridiculously good for new players and gives you consistency while levelling up that's never existed before, making the age of pissing away BPs to get the perk you've just unlocked effectively dead now.
A semi counter argument for The survivor is you're playing them for lore relate stuff if you're into that or lower moaning sounds when injured (e.g ace) for chase purposes or for quiter breathing (e.g Kate claudette) if you're a sthealthy player but yea you are not playing all 30 that's right
It is a 50% reduction in grind but 50% less bp BUT you no longer have to find those perks on specific killers to try out a supposed good build that might just suck altogheter and just waste your bp
I think the reduction is way more than 50% just because of the time and BP save you have by unlocking it on other killers, because when you unlocked teachable- you still had to go trough every other killer spending BP and time to have a chance of finding the perk you wanted.
It felt way worse to rely on RNG to get the perks- and with this you end up saving time and going for the perks you want in every killer out the gate. That's my take on it at least.
Def agree that its kinda pointless on survivor tho- XD
it would be cool if perks didn't had the rank system, just one rank and it's always the rank 3 bonus, this would help a lot in grind since u need to get 3 of the same perk
To the people who have started playing a year or less ago or never prestiged their characters, have fun lmao. Very glad I prestiged all my killers twice and a good amount P3.
Hi, I'm one of the three misterious players that play all the survivors of the game, and I as the president of the commite, I support Scott's ideas, the grind reduction is poop right now, we need to remove Perk Tiers!!!
i'm pretty sure they're planning to make all perks unlockable from the start no? so you don't need to reach level 35, 40, 46, but at the same time if you do actually reach prestige, this is extra. at least i hope this is what they're planning
Scott, stop complaining What's the problem? What about incentives, challenges, events, bp codes that provide you even more points? You forgot or what? They cut the grind not by 75%, okay, but still by HALF. You seriously didn't need to complain about that. New players now probably lose interest faster because of countless hours of grinding and leveling up, but with this change they will keep playing for longer while having more perks to play with and keeping fun experience, that's the point. Somebody should count how long it takes to upgrade character to lvl 50, multiply it by number of characters for survs or killers and then divide that number by half basically. Another thing that's irrelevant, but cool. Let's assume that new players wouldn't waste money to buy chapters right away and instead they will buy characters via shards. After the patch they would waste 50% less time to level up certain characters and then they will enter the state of halt, because they "maxed" their character and they still don't have enough shards to buy new one. So they will store their bp, because there is no immediate reason to prestige and start leveling up again. So when they have enough shards they will buy new character and immediately progress it to lvl 35-40. With current system you would be still grinding available characters while having enough shards to buy new one that makes gameplay more boring

finally someone said it
My main gripe with the update is the 50k to Prestige per character

What about the blood point incentive based on how many players are queued in a certain mode?
I haven't seen how it works yet, but I assume you can only do P1 and then level the sharables in the bloodweb of the survivor you want to main, no? Or do you HAVE to P3 to get those perks lvl 3?

you must be able to prestige really fast in the new system to make this more effective lol

Dude where are all of these pallets when I'm playing survivor
You see, now their argument for not removing tiers will be "we put so much work into the prestige system so we can't".

dangit
bhvr doesn't know anything about their game or what a game and how a game should be. literally someone from reddit or other forums can do better.
