HOW DEJA VU WENT FROM DIRT TO KING

Deja Vu has been in Dead by Daylight since the game’s release. It didn’t have the best start, and over the course of a year, it became even worse—to the point where Deja Vu became synonymous with uselessness. It took BHVR several attempts to make Deja Vu somewhat viable, and now it’s one of the most popular survivor perks in the game. In this video, you’ll learn what the original version of Deja Vu did, why its downfall in 2017 was completely unintentional, and, last but not least, why BHVR made it so strong.

The footage of old DBD versions that you see in my videos isn’t old. It’s actually new. At least for the most part. I specifically record it for every video by playing old versions of Dead by Daylight with my friends. Yes it’s actually possible, and if you wanna play them too, there is a step by step guide for this in my Discord server. Or alternatively you can do it through the Archives of Dead by Daylight website at: https://dbdca.rf.gd

📄 *ABOUT THIS GAME*
In case you randomly stumbled upon this video and you’re wondering what this game even is, it’s called Dead by Daylight. It’s an asymmetric multiplayer horror game developed and published by BHVR Interactive. It’s a 4v1game in which one player takes on the role of a killer and the other four play as survivors. The killer’s goal is to hunt and impale each survivor on sacrificial hooks to appease a malevolent force known as the Entity. While the survivors have to avoid being caught and power up the exit gates by working together to fix five generators. Find out more at https://www.deadbydaylight.com

  1. Sorry for the messed up voice in the video. 3 weeks ago I got sick and completely lost it. Then I kinda recovered but now it sounds like this and I can't fix it. Hope it's gonna get better by the next video.

  2. Voice was def weird but It's fine. Not that big of a deal. Still perfectly understandable.
Also I like this perk. One of the first perks I learned how to use. (which wasn't very hard XD)

  3. Should've used deadline instead of bardic

Bardic is still bad but still usable, still ideal to gen-rush a single gen together with ur teammates

Or play with everyone around and everyone got a buff even if they arent near anymore…meanwhile deadline is always trash, even with autodiactat

  4. Now I almost always use déjà vu. Even if I know a map perfectly, it still an incredible perk. With one perk you get all those advantage :
1- Counter perfectly the 3 gen strategy.
2- Never waste your time finding a gen.
3- Do those gens 6% faster.
(So it litteraly reward you for playing well)

  5. When it only showed one of the 2 gens could that be because it was just you and the killer meaning 4 out of the 7 gens where already complete due to you only needing to repair 2 by yourself and it IS showing you the 2 closest gens but because one of them is most likely completed it only shows the one that isn’t

  6. 2:00 its likely due to the way it was coded – incorrectly.

It probably numbered each gen 1-7 then chose a 1/7 and a 1/7. If the same number was chosen both times only one would be shown.

The way to fix this would be to select a 1/7 then remove that gen from the array and do a 1/6. This would guarantee two gens shown.

  7. Man am I glad my boi Premonition has remained the strongest and most valuable perk since day 1
Nothing touches this extremely Balanced and useful perk, so good that most of the player base forgets it even exists

  8. Honestly greenville could still use an update, I can't count the amount of times as survivor and killer were because someone did the cinema gen too early the match became a near guaranteed victory for the killer side, it actually makes that map borderline unplayable on solo que survivor

  9. I honsstly love the idea of it not working if all 3 Gens aren't within x meters of each other.

But also Survivor's impatience is insane. I see so many still claim 3 Genning is a problem. Or that the Killer still "auto-wins" if they have a 3 Gen. When in reality they just don't want to outlive the 8 Kicks/Regression Events. Like "Bro I get it's boring but you can just prerun a liiiitle bit and they'll run out of kicks eventually." But I get talked down or downvoted if I ever voice that opinion on Reddit lmao

  10. It’s crazy how it went from the most garbage perk in the game to one of the most useful and arguably meta perks. If every survivor ran this perk, do you know how much harder games would be for killer? But don’t you dare give the devs ideas for nerfing Deja vu😡 This game is already miserable in Solo que. This perk helps a lot for that.

  11. I love déjà vu so much, it is so helpful to know where to die ( away from the 3 gen ) and where you should keep pallets for later. I am not the best looper but most of the time when the killer sees me running far away from the gens he doesn't want to chase me anymore. On indoor maps but also on outdoor maps it helps to be efficient with the gens, without déjà vu you could easily waste 30 sec up to a minute to find a gen which might not even be a good one to do. I really hate when there is a 3 gen, if the killer defends it, it takes at least 30 minutes to break it even after the kick changes. It is relatively easy to break but extremely long and boring, déjà vu helps to prevent that even tho a killer who wants to defend a 3 gen will defend it anyway ( Skull merchant hum hum ) and the dopamine boost with the yellow progression bar on the gen, i love it

  12. I really like Déja-vu. My first recomendation to every new/very casual player.
Simply bc it tells the people where gens are (especially when there are only 3 left 😅) and it nudges them to prioritize the important ones. You can't do anything wrong with it and you always get value from it.

  13. Bro, why you had to insult bardic Inspiration so hard?! It was literally made as a meme perk and to add in an emote. The effects are just extras to fit into the perk category 🙁

At least Dramaturgy is the total opposite of it where it was originally a meme perk, but had become an actual good perk to use in versatality

P.S The Cat meme made me very 'Mad' >:(((
