Hi Bran! It's crazy that you posted about this, I was just talking about basekit moris with my friends yesterday.
I agree about the suicide option for survivor.
Giving the killer mori for the base kit, I think it should activate if there are two survivors left alive so that way even on death hook the other two death hook survivors still have a chance to survive and the 2nd last survivor going down will trigger the mori to avoid slugging and bring out hatch game faster rather than waiting to bleed out. Because we all know 2 survivors ain't getting 3-5 five last gens done against a experienced/seasoned killer
Under no circumstances should the mori be automatic. It should be you have to activate it, because otherwise once again it will take away the option to give hatch, to have slug races, etc etc. Cypress basekit is fine. Plus it would mean I'd no longer have to dodge moris because all matches have them. (I dodge them because in 66%+ of my matches where killers offered black wards, moris or their choice of maps the game has generally been very negative/miserable/ the killer was a malicious prick who tunnels for moris with no chance to play the game.
I remember going up against a twins player that slugged everyone in the match. My teammates would pick me up only for Victor to down me again. I would have disconnected if it weren't for the dc penalty.
I think these suggestions are great. I also think when the last remaining survivor is downed that the killer has 10 seconds to either spare or mori or the entity decides for them. This way Killers that slug the last survivor and Boiled Over punk survivors can't waste one each other's time.
I agree that getting left on the ground because the killer wants their stupid 4k is the worst part of DBD that's currently in the game. I'm saying that as someone who prefers killer. It's the one thing when I'm playing survivor that actually bothers me when killers do it. Especially since some survivor challenges require hatch escapes.
While I badly want them to do something about this, I think the problem with adding a system where a survivor can allow themselves to die when on the ground is that it has unsavory implications of suicide. Like although you can technically do that on the hook, I don't think that was an intended game mechanic, since the prompt to do it is "take chance to escape"
How do you phrase a prompt to allow yourself to die and not have it come across as unsavory?
My suggestion is actually to use the basekit mori system for this specific situation. If there are two survivors left in the match and one gets downed, that should auto-transition into a mori. This fits with the theme of the 4th survivor being the "final girl" so to speak, who just watched their friends get killed and now they need to escape alone.
Side note but I never understood the argument about how the basekit mori system made the strongest killers like Nurse even stronger. If a Nurse slugs all 4 survivors on live, she wins, she just needs to clean up at that point. Even if the survivors brought Unbreakable, that's such a hole they're in that it's almost impossible to come back from that.
NO!.. one of the biggest problems right now in bdb is the solo surviver game play theres a massive increase in plays quiting. If you put last man standing mori in. It will increase the number of soloists quiting.
As long as you can’t just tunnel mori every survivor
After that aweful PTB – I had the same idea of making the Lemon Mori Basekit.
However my suggested change for the basekit unbreakable was that getting to 95% recovered stays exactly the same as it is now.
It is the last 5% that changes – This takes an additional 60 secs that cannot be modified by perks or items.
You also get built in Edurance like Soulguard.
This progress does not reset if you are picked up and dropped again BTW only if you successfully get up.
This bar does not fill up if there is a non-downed team mate nearby to prevent this being abused by "Bully Squads".
This way Killers that need to slug due to how their power works can still slug as the additional 60secs is plenty. But the players that either bleed players out due to spite or slugging for the 4K when they have no idea where the final survivor is will be countered.
In my opinion, the yellow mori should be basekit (because why would you run it instead of the green or red one) but you have the choice to either mori the last person or let them find the hatch
I do like the bleed out/surrender mechanic idea. After a minute on the ground, I should be able to decide if I wanna keep going or just give up. And Cypress Mori base kit would be nice because then you could remove it from the bloodweb rotation or repurpose it into something else.
I dont see any problem with yellow mori's being base-kit.
You still have the option ( if you wanna be nice) to give them hatch … besides that theres only niche situations like decisive or power struggle setups that would be ignored but at that point the game is over anyway
I think what I'd personally do is I'd make Cypress mori's current effect as basekit (killing the final survivor outright), and change Cypress to being essentially the Ivory mori but specifically for obsession only. And I mean Ivory's single usage being part of that so you can't do a cheeky furtive play to mori everyone. It would also let people give hatch still if they still have to manually choose to mori.
Also I'd rather there not be a give up bleedout. A team-wide vote to concede defeat is one thing, but that's basically an even worse killing yourself on hook because it doesn't delete a killer's hook while still making your team crippled.
I still to this day don't know why ppl complained about the final mori mechanic, the only problems in that patch were the perk balance (this was cuz the patch was a test, and them perks didn't interfere with the final mori so it was ok to basically "kill them" in order to test this mechanic) and the base kit UB, the whole "when survivors are all incapacitated" thing was super ok for both sides cuz the only thing it did was to make the end end game (where killer won and he needs to find a slugged surv or hook them) faster and more appealing to look.
Ppl complain of how strong it was when all people are slugged, but if all people are slugged than the only thing you couldve done is to go and hook them, what I'm tryna say is that it only had effect when the killer had already won/match ended and didn't bring any sort of advantage to killer, on the other hand basekit unbreakable was something super op and super abusable by good swf.
