Message you BHVR:
Hi, I am requesting the personal data stored on me over the past 12 months on Dead by Daylight. That would include my matches played, wins, losses, and my skill based matchmaking rating. Thank you.

Copy/Paste for ChatGPT:
Dead By Daylight uses an MMR system of 0-2100. Can you take the Mu, Phi, Sigma MMR data which goes from 0 to 6.6 and estimate what my MMR scores would translate to in Dead By Daylight?

  1. Do you have any idea what you've done? This happened a while back with overwatch, and if this comes at all close as to what happened then. Have mercy on bhvr's support staff.

  2. I did note that your data file is prefixed with GDPR. That makes me wonder if, as an American player, they will deny me the ability to get my data because they don't have the threat of the entire EU behind me. I still requested it, but I'll update this post if it ends up being an issue.

  3. I really find it funny that
    a) no one thought about just doing this before(which to be fair, who reads eula or even knows the fine details of gdpr)
    b) Whenever BHVR are asked about adding in an option to see your own statistics in-game, the usual response is that they don't want to do it because it won't show stats prior to the addition of tracking into the game. Which right now we know is complete bullshit.

  4. This is the message inside the request that I sent (in case you want to sound less like a robot):

    Hello 🙂
May I please request the personal data stored on me over the past 12 months regarding the game 'Dead by Daylight'. This should include (but not be limited to) my matches played, wins, losses, and the skill-based matchmaking rating, along with all other related statistical information. Thank you and keep up the great work you are all doing.

Can I also please take this moment to express my interest in BHVR making game statistics permanently available in an easy-to-access fashion either within the game or via a web browser with the option for this information to be Private or Public at the user's choosing. Having to go through a support request is time-consuming for both the user and the support department and would be a wonderful experience if it were easier to access and automated. Again thank you for the wonderful work you do.

  5. Its not just MMR stats they should give us. They should give us stats like which killers we play the most, which ones we are most successful, average time of our matches, etc. There are so many stats they could give us to help us out.

  6. do i need to look at the data of this email to answer the first question?
"Your Steam account has successfully connected to your Behaviour Account. You now have access to your game progression and your inventory (DLCs, purchases, skins)."

  7. After a 2 year break I hopped on to give it a whirl. There was a bonus for playing survivor and did that. Was fun for a bit but ended up being really boring. Same/similar tactics are used on both sides. The fun was just in mind games either at loops or faking out the killer where you were (diversion for example lol).

I definitely won't be playing this like I used to but I can see myself playing once or twice a year with all the new updates.

  8. I actually disabled the agreements in Communication Preferences right after I received shards as a reward. Behaviour sharing personal information with "trusted" third parties, yeah, no thx.

  9. You are making one 1 mistake in regard to the numbers. The 2100 number that you are showing is the SOFT CAP. There is no HARD CAP, as in there is no limit to how high your MMR can be. We know for a fact that some people have MMRs in excess of 6,000, as stated my BHVR. If your MMR is beyond the SOFT CAP, it is forced down (clipped) to the SOFT CAP. The only way to know what your actual MMR is, is you will need to find out what the multiplier is. BEST

  10. You are assuming higher is better and not lower is better. If there is a soft cap it would make sense to mathematically express it as some kind of a limit that approaches zero. Only you can divine that but the fact that spirit is 2.5 "peak" and nurse is lower, seems to suggests the mathematically MMR approaches zero as you get better. Or you really suck with spirit and nurse. Time to dig out that old calculus book… The MMR hackers see is probably something like 2100 – Sigma * moreMathOrAConstant.

  11. They can actually deny you in the US, however, they are forced to provide the information due to EU's GRPD is you are in a country where GDPR applies. This is why they ask you for your location.

Also, the GDPR requests go to a different team apparently. It goes to the BHVR Digital Team instead of the Dead by Daylight team.

  12. I had a feeling I had only ever experienced 3 MMR brackets, it's interesting that they have a tier below where a new player starts, but I guess it makes sense. I know for a fact that I am in the top tier for at lest survivor, I play against tourny comp killers very often.

  13. It baffles my why BHVR is pushing the game to be competitive, yet they still won't show us our MMR. Almost every other comp game shows you your skill rating. Hiding this info is very bad for competitive since having info on your stats lets you see if you were in an evenly matched environment or not and if your opponents were.

  14. The glicko-2 rating system (widely used in online games) is probably what DBD uses. In glicko-2, we have mu (μ) , phi (φ), and sigma (σ), the same symbols from the document you received.

mu (μ) is your estimated skill which typically starts at 0 and will go up for players better than average and down for players below average.

phi (φ) is your deviation, which is a measure of confidence in your rating. It starts high then go down as you play more.

sigma (σ) is your volatility, that is the expected fluctuation in your performance. It impacts how quickly your skill will change based on new results.

  15. Unfortunately, in my experience LLMs cannot be trusted to do math or understand logic. It's creating a nicely formatted table, but there's no way to know that this data isn't completely hallucinated. The good news is that this data is in a nicely parsable json format, so it actually wouldn't be difficult at all to automate a program that extracts this information correctly.

I did look at the json for pig and bear to see what it went produced in the table, and the LLM-produced table seemed to be correct except for some acceptable rounding.

  16. Oh boy.. this could ruin the game
People already act like it's a competitive game, and if people can see their rating itll only get more and more sweaty
Its NOT a competitive game, because you cant compare your skill to other players (at least as intended by the devs) and that's good.

  17. Your survivor MMR doesn'r mean anything regarding your skill to be honest.
You could have a low MMR and loop the killer for the whole game and die, while the bad claudette gen rush and escape without improving at the game. The whole system is useless, it rewards selfishness and encourages survivors to hide and not improve on the mechanics. So even if you want to go and wait for a whole week for your data which aren't even clear to understand it wouldn't even matter lmao.
