  1. I mean, id prefer it being a licensed chapter, BUT i wouldn't mind it being original as long as its still something big or something new. 3rd anniversary was a big deal because people had wanted ghost face as a killer for a long time. 4th year anniversary was a big deal because silent hill was pur first full chapter based off if a video game, and also because silent hill is a huge deal. Same with the 5th year anniversary, resident evil was a huge deal to get in dbd. 6th year anniversary was a big deal because it was dbds first non-human/non-humanoid killer, and the dredge's design looked incredible, and he had an actually well designed power to go with it. So, for me, year 7 just needs to be something thats a big deal OR it needs to be something new. I.e. if its a licensed chapter, then id want it to be a big licence. If its an original chapter, id want it to be something thats unlike anything else we've already gotten

  2. Well, i liked skull merchant, but she isn't everyones cup of tea.

Honestly if a chapter is licensed or not makes no difference, the content in chapter however does need to be good.

An example of my point is when DBD had the Sadako Rising chapter was released we had a visually good looking licensed killer, but her powers were very week and now she is mostly ignored by the community outside of people making Condemned Builds.

Then later in the chapter after that we got Sadako 2.0 but original, The Dredge, it's power out shined and out performed Sadako in almost every single way, also The Dredge was the headline for last years anniversary event.

So even if they did get a license for the anniversary there is no 100% guaranties that it's going to be good.

Usually during the anniversary does do a good job in bring people around the game, so regardless i'm here for the event.

  3. To be honest I don't care if it's an original chapter, but I think the anniversary of dbd It should be something special for the community, something we asked bhv for, so I don't think it's fair to get another original chapter for the anniversary.
Yes the original chapter could be good but I think the community would rather get something they asked for than something they didn't ask for.

Someone will probably argue against it, but that's just my opinion.

  4. I just want to experience the hype of a licensed anniversary chapter, it didn't even feel like it last year with Haddie and Dredge :/ i only cared about the flans lol

  5. It needs to be licensed, their reputation for "good originals" has been bad. I like how you said its about quality, when the evidence is obvious that they haven't put that out. Original quality is not their forte and never will be. Community said what the problems for the last 2 originals, and they didnt listen. This wont be different, but I think it will still be licensed.

  6. I would normally agree that it doesn’t matter. However, this is not a normal circumstance. We’ve been given two lackluster original chapters whose killers utilized the same strategy. We just want something new and I’m losing faith that BHVR knows how to deliver that on their own. At least with a license they try to be creative so that they can maintain a good relationship with the license holders. This “too much of the same” also applies to RE imo. I would be upset if we got a 3rd RE chapter since RE has basically taken over the game since the first chapter. Just give me something new, creative, and fun and I’ll be happy.

  7. I feel like people have more trust in a licensed chapter being good then a original one because Behaviour most certainly puts more effort on those to make the license holders happy with more sales, and if you go by recent record Wesker was amazing and the two chapters that followed were mid/bad

  8. I don't mind the potentially original chapter. The game has a good ratio of licensed to original chapters
(1:2) and I think it should probably stay at that rate if possible. Either way im exited for the new chapter!

  9. I am someone who loved the dredge and he was an anniversary and original. But, the think is we didn't have sckull merchant who is known as a killer who's just "there" and no one really likes. It makes more sense as what they don't need is quality because people who left won't look for that as a reason to come back. Take Alien for example. If someone saw alien as a chapter and without thinking will come back and play them not because they are good but because they are fun and a loved icon. I would be fine with an original if the player count wasn't so low. But they need those numbers back fast

  10. Honestly I'm okay with anything, if it has quality and innovative content. I don't want another 3 gen secure killer, or another teleporting killer. I wish there would be something truly new to the game. For example, someone made a concept of a Slender man killer, who transforms gens into these collectible papers, and thats the objective for the survivors. Something like this (not exacly this, idk) is what we need I think. Something, that can truly capture the essence of a killer. Good video tho!

  11. I'm only scared bcs the last two chapters were pretty boring ,I love dbd I play since 2016 december and own everysingle dlc but I don't want this game to go lower ,I prefer Licenened killer over originals but that doesnt mean I dont love originals and want more of them bcs everysingle one just something new but still .In my opinion we need something big licened or not just a big anyvers.

  12. I have no issue with it being original if it’s good. The anniversary needs to be big following the last 2 chapters and I think it’s more likely to be good if it’s licensed as it feels like they take more time perfecting a liscenced chapter as to not upset the license holders.

  13. I agree that it depends on the quality of the chapter. Roots of dread is hands down one of the best chapters in my opinion. I can’t say the same for the last two . In my opinion they were executed very poorly. So I do understand the frustration that some may have . But regardless I look forward to see what the new chapter will be . Licensed or not ☺️
