  1. My issue with this whole thing is that Otz is trying to say the game isnt survivor sided, but then gathers data on randos. This proves nothing. In order to get actual data on balance he should be face survivors with similar experience. The only thing this proves is that playing scummy nets kills. To which i say duh

  2. Great analysis! Seems like, at least to me, that devs have no choice but to change the game itself completely, switching from objective-sided mind to chase-sided, as it was mentioned in the video. But it looks like a lot of work. Hopefully, it won't die out like ow did (even though it's not the same game but it faced similar problems with countering strong characters by making them weaker and vice versa) ://

  3. Choy, Love the Channel and it's great to see another attempt at the challenge to see how it compares. THE PROBLEM with this challenge though is the Scientific method, we'd need this done so many times the exact same way over and over to have conclusive evidence by the end of the day. I'd personally say 5 times but no one wants to endure this hell 5 times.

  4. True will never accept information that contradicts his own conclusions. This is clear and its pretty uniform for everyone I saw do it. Except true. He did significantly worse and doesn't understand its a reflection of him and not the game itself

  5. I really hope Bhvr can fix this game, I don’t think there’s another game that’s been as influential or successful in this genre as DbD. With that said, Bhvr can not allow the once Juggxrnaught status of this game to blind them to it’s flaws. DbD has always had issues and needed fixing, and the developers are of course bound to make mistakes.
But obviously, we play games to have fun, and if the game is not fun for most of your player base, then that game will fail.
Dbd is dying, but it can still be fixed. So lets hope.

  6. This is… One of the best DBD analysis videos I've seen. I have been preaching for months that the game NEEDS to be balanced around cases for its own health, and this became even more apparent with the introduction of MMR (I don't need to explain why.)

Hopefully, the plummeting average player numbers will serve as a wake-up call to the devs about the health of their own game.

Thank you for this video Choy!

  7. the problem with mmr is the instinct of people to try harder and harder every time they lose … at first its only 1 gen defense perk then 2,3,4 and then its nurse with addons and map offerings, completly breaking the core game and there lies the mistake because by doing this u might win more often but u get stressed out since u face better players more often.
i run 2 gen defense perks and play weak or mediocre killers, i win some i lose some … but it feels better to play this way, even if u get stomped now and then.
the problem on survivor side is, most of the times the game is literally Unplayable without meta perks and u die with 3k points or win with 32k while killers lose 4 gens in 3 minutes

  8. I would love to see a video from you exposing the censorship in general from the devs and such when people criticize their game. My posts have been constantly deleted, I’ve been banned from the forums, and I can barely post anything to the sub if it remotely critiques the game. I made a post about spawn points being an issue in the game where I was nemesis and had lethal pursuer on. All 4 survivors were spawned on different gens and 3 gens popped before I even made it to the first person. 3 gens done in less than 2 mins. They deleted that post instantly

  9. guess what bhvr cant balance the game easily around … "fun" you want my challenge that i have done and DID before the perkless i let 4 gens fly almost 5 and as skybilly made my comeback people can say its impossible but with dark devotion tinkerer nwo and mindbreaker and youll see the casuals dont care bout fun anymore its not worth it being the problems both sides have

  10. Loved the video, nice to see some more in depth information. I've been playing for a little over a year, and have only about 700 hours in the game. I play only about 1 to 2 hours at a time when I sit down to play. Sometimes that's everyday sometimes that's just once a week. I've played at all times of the day and can say that depending on the time of day and when school is in or out of session can really change the player skill level. If I want easier matches, I just have to play over the weekend during the early after noon or about 5pm at night, at 7pm skill level slowly goes up until 9pm hits were skill level seems to peak and holds at that peak until midnight. At about 1 am the skill level will swing wildly (I don't play that often that late/early but the few times I have done so that seems to be the case). During the week days playing during the day tends to go 1 of 2 ways, I get amazing players or brand new babies. The consistency is way down. Week days are just like week ends were later at night player skill is up, during school days the player skill level fluctuates way more, and it's harder to get consistent games. I do know that in North America (my area) when the survivor queues are longer, the game will be sweatier, but when the survivor queues are shorter and killer lines are pretty short, then you are in for a easier time.

I don't know what my mmr is because my favorite play style isn't rewarded. I like to do what I call "the push back method". What this means is that I will only play as sweaty as the team I'm going against is playing, and my goal for the game is to always 2 hook every survivor AND let all the survivors out of the match. I also want to get those 8 hooks before the last gen pops. "The push back method" also means that if I go up against babies I'll let them do very stupid things with out punishing the players as much, ignoring the really really bad players, or the Claudette hiding in the open (an example of this happened to me yesterday. I was playing against super babies and I would hear a survivor running behind me for the unhook as I'm walking away from the hook and instead of turning around and hitting the survivor I just walked off like I didn't hear them). Since MMR I've had to drop letting people out as often because newer players get so scared of the killer they don't save a lot of the time and I feel bad for the ones that didn't get saved so I kind of feel like letting the 1 go that just sat in lockers hiding all match isn't very fair. Also at lower levels you start feeling bad that you are stomping the other side. I was getting my goal done before they could get a gen done, and sitting in the basement for nearly 10 minutes can be a bit boring waiting for the players to get to the gens, so I had to raise my MMR. Sadly, getting to a point were I can have a challenging match and still do my goal of letting everyone escape has become impossible. Before MMR I learned that purple ranks was perfect for me and staying in ranks 8-6 gave me the exact matches I wanted most of the time.

Sorry for the huge rant, but I basically wanted to say that time of day massively effects the quality of games I get. Also that MMR is super broken for people that don't have a kill based play style. I don't like playing super challenging matches because it wears you down and makes me want to play even less. I do want a challenge but MMR goes up too easily (as killer) and can be come unfun super quickly when you run into a very difficult group, and if you get the every match. . . The game can seem unplayable.

I haven't tried this challenge, but I can say with the way MMR is now, and the fact there is 2 killers I've never even played before and the fact that MMR can't be too far from my highest killer, yeah, I think I would walk away with a 1.8 average if I was lucky.

  11. Towards the end of the video, you asked if we would be interested in seeing your full play sessions edited with time stamps. The answer is YES. I'm not trying to blow smoke up your ass dude, but your games are very entertaining to watch because you take one of the most pragmatic and realistic approaches to the game possible. Also, your THOROUGH analytical approach gives viewers much to digest and learn from.

TrueTalent and Otzdarva are fun in their own right with Otz being very outgoing, wholesome, and showmanlike, or with True being very cynical and dark, but also passionate about what he does, and very determined to make his points clear. You also have a lot of smaller streamers in the mix, but they can very in quality, and then you have some streamers like me who are relatively mediocre at the game and just vanish for months on end with no warning due to burnout and lack of motivation.

All in all, seeing your approach to gameplay, the way you commentate, and the way you express your findings are very refreshing, and I would love to see more of it. Again, not trying to blow smoke up your ass, but that is really how I feel.

  12. I usually play from 6AM to 1PM and almost every game I get beginners or baby survivors. But after 7 PM all the sweats come to play. EU servers. That’s my experience

  13. question: this is for both rounds
Do u think if you got a better map and/or better RNG in general do u think u could have done better or get a higher kill rate
I know that may seem like an obvious answer but I just would like to know

  14. i wonder when a fun challenge became an experiment.

Specially when all you have to do is find a weak link, camp, trade hooks and tunnel. With this strategy even against sfw you can have 1k (unless they are pro player or you fuck up massively). But that's not a fun way to play and doesn't mean you win your match, it just mean you want mmr more than anything else, which means nothing on itself.

Also even if you can guarantee 1k, it's the survivors that will choose if you will have 1k or if you will more.

If they don't play altruistic, they can just rush gen and leave (ez 3 escape). So despise what otz is saying, the survivors are in control so they are the strongest role .

  15. I really appreciate your analytical approach to the game. Additionally that is an insane performance considering you are on controller and have to deal with console frames. Seriously well done.

  16. I play on PlayStation crossplay on. I'm in America, central standard time. I typically play like tru3 where I try to get as many hooks as possible and only camp in the endgame or proxy when it's clearly the right play to do. I play every killer in the game at a competent level if not above average. The day vs. night thing is absolutely real in my experience. When I play in the morning/afternoon, I usually just get shit stomped over and over on any killer, typically getting 1 or 0 kills at 5 gens and then maybe 1 or 1 more in the endgame if I can somehow hold on through the bodyblocks/BT/DS/etc. Then when it gets to about 5 PM, I start getting way weaker SWFs, a lot of solos, bad bully squads, and the occasional very strong SWF. I 4K significantly more during this time and typically don't 4k when someone finds the hatch (i don't slug for 4k). The devs have said the system tosses out MMR when survivor queue times get long, which is the most obvious explanation. Some of those bad teams are waiting forever for a match so it throws them with killers in a higher MMR bracket. Same in reverse, team Oracle that's been in queue for 10 minutes and just got dodged by a vet that checked profiles gets matched up with a Wraith that just has Predator to get them in a game quickly

  17. Wait, Tru lives in Denmark? I thought he lives in London?
I also live in Germany and for me the survivors I get during the evening are much, MUCH more sweaty (and a lot of times more likely to be in a party) than daytime survivors though that might be because I can rarely play during daytimes.

I am not an amazing killer especially on complex killers like Nurse, Blight or Billy, but next week I will try this challenge myself just for…well, I can't say fun. Let's say comparison, yes.

  18. Otz doesn’t live in Spain anymore he lives in Andorra, and I would do they challenge but I already barely play the game anymore and I don’t have every killer plus don’t enjoy playing a lot of the killers so I won’t do it but I’m glad there’s people who will test it like you and Otz

  19. Now do the same experiment without camping & tunneling. You will get closer to around Tru3s score. This is not about survivors having a rulebook, I could not give a rats ass what survivors want. It is what I, as a killer want. What I want is to enjoy the game in a fun and relaxing manner. Camping & tunneling is the most boring gameplay which I avoid at all costs until endgame. So my experience at top MMR is pretty much non-stop 0-1K games, with an occasional potato team to 4k.

Disclaimer: How I know I am playing at top MMR? I check profiles. The vast majority of my lobbies (if I don't dodge) are 4man SWF with anywhere between 3 to 11k hours. And those aren't the SWF that claim to just play relax and fun… They are proper sweat squads with all the synergized meta perks and items.
