30 thoughts on “I Hate Killers That Do This – Dead by Daylight”
This is the majority of killer players that joined post 6.0. they are boosted af and always begging for balance changes on twitter/reddit. playing like this game is paying their bills
I was in a stream the other day and a viewer had a question about what are the best perks for X killer. I chimed in and said there are perks that can help improve certain killers but the way they should look at it is to look at their own play style and figure out what perks synergize with their play style or go with some perks that fill in gaps in your play style. Like for me I hate kicking gens. So for me I'm not going to run pop. I would rather use like surge if I'm going gen regression. Like some of these perks may be "meta" but if it isn't part of your play style they are useless.
It's 100% an ego problem. In their mind, letting go of the chase against said survivor is akin to giving up, or admitting they're better. Hence, they keep on tunneling, since they wanna prove to themselves that they can catch them – even though it often costs them the game (and even then they might not get them.) It's just something these people have to learn the hard way, I guess.
I had a killer running Pain Res and No Way Out. Two perks that only work if you don't tunnel. He tunneled me out, and the other 3 managed to escape. He then complained in the egc that the perks weren't strong enough, and they were bad. I don't understand these players, and I don't think I want to.
I feel the main issue here (like in a few of these games including tcsm) is the disconnect between the apparent theme of the game (and what the players WANT to do) with what a killer is actually EXPECTED to do to have any chance of win. The actual fun part of playing the game (the chases) is something you as a killer need to actively AVOID in the vast majority of cases while for survivors they will definitely experience chases or just win for free, either way they will be happy. They designed the game so that the main thing killers want to do in order to have fun is the thing they should do the least in order to not be unhappy with their inevitable losses as a result.
As a killer you typically need to choose between trying to actually engage in the chase gameplay you are playing the game for and winning, so if you choose to 'play the game correctly' aka run around chasing birds off of your picnic table sandwiches 40 meters apart before they eat them all then you might win but the game is often much less fun as a result, but if you choose to actually pursue the desired chase gameplay as a killer then you will just lose because 'you're not playing correctly'
What this video is seeming to describe is a player that doesn't yet understand that in order to enjoy DBD, you have to stop wanting to have fun. He has the builds that he thinks are good, but doesn't yet understand that his goal is to babysit generators that he doesn't care about instead of actually be a killer that chases people around like he thinks the game is supposed to work.
I think it's funny how all the slowdown perks got nerfed, but none of the gen speed up perks besides prove thyself (which wasn't the problem to begin with) was. Mainly, I hate how behavior uses their stupid statistics to nerf whatever is "meta" when it results in even more unbalancing than what they are "trying" to strive for.
I honestly feel like a lot of the toxicity in the Dead By Daylight fanbase comes from people who A: don't realize they've hit their skillcap and so they want the game to become easier for them or B: realize they have hit their skillcap but don't want to improve by changing their playstyle and instead want the game to become easier for them.
I think the strongest build in the game for tunnelling and proxy camping is something like
Ultimate weapon, DMS, Corrupt & Pain res typically it’s relatively easy to just constantly kick them off of gens while you proxy and another advantage of ultimate weapon is it helps you locate the survivor you need to tunnel.
And for the 3 gen you typically have 3 stacks of pain resis left so most of the time any survivor team will struggle against this.
Do i think playing like this is fine? Nah you’re probably a loser if you do and your so unskillful you need to run perks that are even banned in dbd comp lmao.
The only time when I’ve ever felt the need to tunnel is if a survivor is purposefully putting themselves in positions to be tunneled. If you’re just following me the whole time trying to take a hit with Off the Record while I’m not even going for you, sorry you’re going back on the hook.
I’ve never felt the need to go out of my way to tunnel in any game I’ve played since I actually learned the games mechanics and how to properly play.
With forced penance, survivors may still take protection hits but then they're broken, right? That's good. What about Starstruck? The downside is that once people know you have it they won't body block. But isn't that fine too? If you know you don't have to worry about it? One perk punishes them for doing the thing you don't want them to do, the other strongly incentivizes them to not do it in the first place. And hey, if they do, maybe you get it down. Pure theory crafting, but wouldn't Starstruck achieve that goal better? Even if you don't actually get direct value out of the exposed part.
people can play however they want and sometimes they have to act accordingly if they can't get perk/addon value. sometimes people forget to change their build before going into a game so they forget what perks they have. it's a casual game. if you died but 3 people escaped be happy. what's the issue? you even said multiple times in other videos that sometimes killers just tunnel by accident. if they can't find any other survivors and you keep showing up they will most likely chase you since you are injured and have the most hook states. sometimes killers just accept the L and no longer care about the game when they come across a survivor that's good at chase. what's a killer supposed to do when everyone can make a chase last enough for a gen to be done? killer drops chase to find a survivor then gives up chase again when that survivor is good at chase. Killer loses without hitting a single survivor because they refuse to commit to any chase. people can play however they want. not every match is serious. it doesn't take long to get into another game. so what if someone is trying to play sweaty or follow a guide. everyone starts somewhere. I don't get this community. a killer is shamed for using bad perks and shamed for using good perks. a killer is shamed for playing poorly, playing optimally, or throwing the game. what's a good killer to you? you want every match to be a huntress that can successfully land ortibals? a killer that displays great skill, hooks everyone 2 times and lets everyone escape?

i say "runs pain res and then tunnels???" so often lmao

i have seen these kind of players a lot..

I been getting more tunnelers in the last 5 hours because of this video wtf Scott

thought this was gonna be about hating killers who play super sweaty n shit and then at the end they just act like theyre friendly and meme around
My nurse build is Pain res, ultimate weapon, friends till the end and dead mans switch and i do completely fine in the slowdown department
But hey maybe im just doing nurse things i couldnt tell u
I always use stbfl, deadlock, Noed and coup de grace for tunneling and it really helps
People take games too seriously. We all need to realise its meant to be fun.
Clearly they don't know the current meta is Shadowborn and literally nothing else. The Blight mains do, and that's why they always get 4ks.
The most ridiculous type of player is the sweaty gen rusher

Can I watch the full vid that you used?
So.. You mean to say you hate idiots? I feel you man.
Tunneling killers are so… tiring to play against.
The game is survivor sided though, if both sides play optimally survivor side will usually win
What if we all just went outside and stopped treating video games like they're life and death
using background footage of zub waiting for a lobby was an s-tier decision

I can relate to this soo much
Exact reason why I don't bring Pop n Pain Res, just doesn't fit my play style.

30 times at best a day camping and tunneling. Im not joking or exaggerating it. And im tired of it. Is this the best people can do now.

as Nurse I use Bamboozle. are you going to make a video complaining about how I'm not playing optimally?
You can just tell when a player plays like they’re just regurgitating a C&P “best build for survivor/killer 20XX” and it really shows.
