Can you plz make a video about running new MacMillan tiles.
Dude… No.
Solo queue was frustrating, but it was NOT the way you described, which was very exaggerated(even if It's a joke… You don't use jokes in an argument).
As a person who rarely plays DBD with friends(also because they ditched the game) and plays 90% of the time as solo survivor, the solo survivor experience before the update was very frustrating, not miserable, it was just very frustrating. That doesn't mean before the update we were escaping every time and having the most fun a person can have in the game, but it does mean that we would escape at least a few trials and we would be able to finish all gens in a lot of matches if not in most. There would always be ups and downs, there was also space for fun.
Now… After the update? I'm just gonna talk about MY experience as a solo survivor that is not trying to be a sweaty player. I was never the type of survivor that only uses meta builds, in fact i rarely use meta builds, i like using different things, i like testing perks, i love perks like Distortion, the pebble perk, BTB and others like that, so no i was never the player relying on DH, DS and other perks like that. My experience has been nothing but MISERABLE since the update, not just "very frustrating" like before, it is actually MISERABLE now, It's been two days already since i've been playing this game for several hours straight trying to adapt and get one good match to prove to myself that It's not that bad, i have played A LOT of matches… In basically ALL of them survivors could not finish the last gen before everyone was DEAD.
It feels terrible to have hope that the next match will be better but it NEVER is.
Of ALL the matches i've played, let me tell you how many times survivors actually survived:
1 – a Kate that was given hatch after everyone died before doing the last gen(and the killer was very fair).
2 – A bill that escaped through the gates after the killer closed hatch, and again, after everyone died before doing the last gen.
3 – We were actually able to finish all gens, buy why? It's because the killer literally stood still at some point in the match and LET us finish the gens so they could use NOED, it was the only time most of the team managed to escape because the killer screwed up. I was the only one who died because i saved a Dwight and then saved the meg that rescued me because i knew one of us would die anyway.
After i played A LOT of matches, these were the only matches where survivors escaped, all the rest? Dead by the last gen.
Again, before the update we would often be able to finish all gens at least, after the update it never happens.
I'm talking from MY experience, i'm not exaggerating or making up stories, the game doesn't give me joy or good matches after this update, i'm still trying, It's not like i just wanna say everything is bad and not try to adapt, but i had ZERO good experiences after this update.
And before anyone here just says "you're bad at the game" or "your teammates are bad", let's remember that everyone(if they're old enough) should be able to play this game, from all levels of skill, i should be paired with people who are just as good or bad as i am, i SHOULD be able to play this game and not feel miserable all the time, that's what the MMR is for after all, isn't it? Anyway, just saying this before people try to gatekeep the conversation. The thing i do most in this game is gens, i'm always trying to do gens and avoid tri-gens too, so it's not like i'm just hiding all the time.
I love the new Dead Soft.
I'm not sure at what hour you made this video but they have disabled queue incentives since the 20th
I think I'm one of the 5 people that never used Dead Hard before the nerf. That being said, Dead Hards nerf……like damn lol.
Buffing killers? I’m for it.
Nerfing SWF which extends to solo queue? Not great.
Good patch? Yes.
removing dh just exposed the bad players, and they hate when they realise they're bad. so they're just gonna cry
The point where you talk about killer queues being instant. You're right about there being less survivors. BHVR is changing matchmaking on purpose to account for the drop in survivors (that they won't ever quantify or show). This causes killer queues to stay instant, and surv matchmaking to massively suffer even though there was/has been a drop in survs.
Honestly, the patch has just exacerbated the issues of solo queue. Now, when Yoichi kills himself on first hook at 3 gens, it's even more miserable. Or when Mikaela dc's after being downed for the first time. And when Claudette is self-caring in the corner, it's even more time wasted. And tunneling one person out of the match just became stronger. Especially on the killers who were strongest already.
I love it when soloQ gets nerfed 😎
(I only play soloQ )
Iron Will was my basekit but I didn't run exhaustions. Iron Will getting nerfed makes me sad but it is what it is. Hope and Lightweight got buffed so good tradeoff for me
Thank you for making this video. The atmosphere and community reaction has been terrible.
Since the patch, I have not had a single game without at least 1 survivor DC'ing, giving up on first hook, or simply giving up and standing still in the open begging to be killed.
I strongly believe this is creating a negative feedback loop because people doing this are ensuring the game will be bad for the other survivors, and then those people become more likely to be that guy in their next game, and so on and so forth.
There are issues with the patch, but most can be fixed with simple value tweaks. This has been blown out of proportion.
(I've also been running into some wild matchmaking. I get Prestige 9-10+ loop god survivors teamed up with Prestige 0 survivors who don't seem to know what a pallet or window is.)
Listen, I respect the meta change and the gutted perks that were meta now are so bad your trolling if you use them is fine, but after all the nerfs and buffs to base kit killer's why did bloodlust get buffed so drastically when there were tests of bloodlust removed from the game not that long ago in a patch where all the perks were pretty much full power?
Yes this patch was a massive over correction and tot he point that camping and tunneling are the strongest ever just because of base kit reason's and now the bail out of bloodlust is double downed on even tho all the best perks are unusable and the entire match making experience feels crazy now.
I have played in a 4 man against scott live on stream be for and it felt like a mental battle even tho he was on demo, So now that the patch is live and it feels like there are no good survivor perks but killer's hardly got touched it seems, why now of all times when idc about dead hard not being there that i feel like the game is unplayable?
I dont think is the majority of all skill level player's are not enjoying the game atm that it just needs a adjustment period, i would agree if the game still felt fun.
i've always said ''people wont know how to play survivor for a while when dh gets nerfed'', lol. from someone who play both sides i think its a great fvcking patch, BUT: like in the old meta, stacking slowdowns is still very common/effective while most of the survivor crutches/second chances are now gone; tunneling/camping feels easier with the overnerfed ds and longer gen time, plus the ''grab game'' on healthy survs still being a thing.
it think those are my biggest concerns now, and we should give some time for the rest since its too recent and mmr seems to be broken.
Dead hard changes didn't affect me too much. The perk that I got accustomed to was Spine Chill. Rest in peace, my sweet kitty.
Dude I love that iron will got nerfed, I can now go back to playing spirit constantly
My killer queue is like 10 minutes and my survivor queue time idk like a minute
All the perk changes were great. My main issue is in this patch killers seem to have gone out of their way to relentlessly camp and tunnel and it’s the most unfun shit I’ve gone against in 5k hours
The community is so used to not getting shit in their patches that a big patch with big changes is mind-blowing.
I feel like the Dead Hard change combined with the other Killer speed changes will take time for survivors to adjust and unlearn thousands of hours of muscle memory.
For example I've noticed survivors are still living on the edge like they used to, but the edge has moved so they are fumbling.
What I mean by that is things like leaving a generator at the very last second as the killer approaches. Well, the very last second is now "too late", because you no longer have Dead Hard for distance to reach the nearby loop you're used to.
Or another example is brazenly unhooking in the killer's face (I'm not talking about a camping killer here, just someone who literally just put someone on the hook). Well, before you might have been able to take a hit and the speed boost + killer recovery time allowed you to reach safety, and now you can't so you just got yourself hooked.
TLDR: The timing and safe distances have changed, and it's going to take a while for survivors to adjust. My tip is playing it just a bit safer than before. Leave that gen 1 second sooner. Go for that unhook when the killer is just a few meters further away.
I hope everyone can enjoy the game again.
Playing survivor now sucks….
you hit the nail on the head, i think the overreaction is due to the miffed matchmaking and people are looking to blame something and the biggest thing in our face is all the changes. the dead hard thing i agree with too, i prepares by going back to my old go to Lithe and it’s still been just hard to rewire not having an escape button. matchmaking has been so unfun, about 80% of my matches since update is filled with people who are hiding in corners and look like they’ve never touched this game, so it ends up being miserable when someone’s dead already and there’s 0 gens to show for it.
My experience with queue times was identical to yours when you talked about it before (6-9pm est survivor = fast, killer = slow). This is still the exact same for me so it was a surprise to hear that it’s different for you now
Because otr is a bad perk to run lol. Hit off hook and its gone. Also top tier survivors aren't getting escape streaks at all any more. Also most the people complaining don't use DH. I haven't used perks in months and now I have to use them to survive which sucks there's no way around it.
If survivors feel more oppressed than ever, then this was a good patch. We just need to nerf swf to closer match the solo queue experience and then we're mostly good.
No its not a killer sided patch.
Personally I like all the changes except the 3 second DS, Eruption, and longer gens. The amount of times the last 2 days where I've had a gen at 95% only to be interrupted is where I realized that it's not just 10 seconds more per gen, it's 10 plus many more instances of an almost-complete generator now being busted (albeit not with pop) that has made games really tough
This is my take. I don't play solo Q and havent for a long time, I always play in a minimum of a 2 stack with my partner and very very often 3 stack and a common 4 man swf. Even in 2 stack we managed a good amount of escapes a lot of countering shitty loadouts as well as camping/tunneling basement Bubbas etc. Our escape rate only increased when adding a third player and then a fourth.
Since this change happened, weve played roughly 15 games with a minimum of 3 people most with 4, and we have achieved 0 escapes. A lot of tunneling, a lot of camping and a TONNE of multiple stacked slowdown perks (thana, gift of pain etc). I am a very good survivor when being chased, my teammates would manage to all heal each other and complete 1-3 gens based on how long killer commits to me. Most my teammates have managed is 1 1/2 gens, with buffed slowdowns gens take forever, my chases remain the same length the changes regarding chase mechanics and break time doesnt affect me. The problem is genspeed has been put waaayyy into the ground. We don't wanna even play the game because escaping has been impossible, ironically the furthest game we got was a single match were we completed all gens but no escapes, and we were a 3 man no mither squad. Other than that game, even with sweaty loadouts, BNP, prove thyself commodious toobloxes we can only manage to complete 4 gens
This patch has beena awful for Solo Q and SWF alike
This would be the best update if we just had guns So we can shoot the killer and stun them for 6 seconds
If you look at the steam charts, since the patch the game has been hitting 50k-60k peak concurrent players every day since Tuesday. Compared to some days in the last month that barely broke 40k, that's almost a 35% increase in playerbase which is ridiculous. I think it's quite likely the patch brought in a not insignificant amount of players who aren't new, but haven't played in a very long time which would explain why mmr seems "broken" even if it's technically functioning.
I matched against my first hacking survivor today 😀 It was very interesting to have a survivor do a gen in front of me and me not being able to do anything to them, them teleporting to hooked survivors and instantly unhooking, healing them to full and teleporting away to a gen again.
I said GG and skill issue I guess after the match. Interesting experience though.
Thankfully I never used DH, I’ve always been a Lithe user. As for MMR… Since the last reset I’ve been getting teams with sweaty builds, Insta heals, BNPs, Styptics… etc. like everyone is just using the strongest items and can’t be mindgame’d forcing me to brute force chases which sucks… Then I’d go to killer and it’s the just as sweaty from the other end. Like one day I was so miserable playing killer that I just stopped for the day (this was before the new patch). I haven’t played the new patch, but I want to see for myself how it feels playing killer, especially since I never really used ruin… As pig main I use Spirit Fury, Enduring, Surge and BBQ which I sometimes interchange with Monitor and STBFL so the meta change didn’t effect me all that much lol
i don’t particularly care about the perk changes on survivor, my problem with the patch is buffs for killer such as the bloodlust change that are just incentivizing an annoying bad play style, and the emblems for prestige three. i would love to see a cosmetic for that i don’t think what they’re doing is good enough for the work i put into prestige.
I don't care for dead hard, but i'm salty about the double nerf on iron will. Solo q was hell before patch, now it's worse with people still self-caring f.ex. i'm taking a break until they buff solo q. Maybe one day, maybe never.
delusional as ever
Agreed on the MMR point. Example, I played today just to try out the changes for the first time and did a Blight daily. I never play Blight because I'm terrible with him, and I got THEE comp sweat squads of all time after waiting like 10 minutes for a lobby. It took forever to get a down because they all had endurance perks and it would take 66 hits just to get them down. I wanted to scream.
6:01 I noticed the same, from waiting 3-5 minutes per match before the patch to literally instant killer queues even with the survivor matchmaking incentive; I get completely new players way more than usual along with 2k+ hours survivors, but overall seeing more skilled plays from survivors that are not just "press E to loop the killer for another 5 minutes"
Remove the cap for MMR.
Rubber banding still, pallet hit validation is worse, tunneling and camping is still abused, killers aren’t punished for whiffing anymore, gens are longer to allow camping to be more viable, killers are stunned for a shorter time… Didn’t solo queue or use dead hard. Your theory doesn’t apply obviously to everyone. Seems like an over correction to buff killers and nerf survivors. Made game experience better for causal/new killers and ruined potential new survivor players and existing survivor players. I guess they’re solving the want for killer to survivor ratio
When I play survivor my queue is instant lol
When I play killer my queue takes over 10 minutes because I can't find any survivors who want to actually play the fuckin game this patch lmao
The main issue is gens aren't getting done. I escaped once in the last few days cause it seems like I'm the only one doing gens then by with the slugging that's still happening it just makes games horrible. This is actually the first patch that I'm ready to walk on cause there is no point in wasting my time. Back to the show I go lol.
My issue with the patch is pretty much how much stronger camping and tunneling is now, which is basically from doing gens to being on a hook for 2 minutes.
The dead hard nerf and response after implementation proves that dead hard should've never existed.
Gotta' say, just from the couple matches I've had, getting Tunneled (by a baby killer) through just OTR feels waaaay better than getting tunneled through BT and DS ever did. Like, randoms just need to do their dang gens, and we could get at least a 3-man escape out of how much time the Killer Wastes chasing me, hitting my OTR, chasing me some more, and then finally downing me. And that's me, a person that's sucks at looping. These survivors that claim to actually have ten billion hours in the game shouldn't be having issues with braindead tunnelers.
Merciless Storm might become an issue, though. SoloQ Survivors ain't hitting those skill checks.
the majority of people are complaining about the increase in tunneling and camping though lol
Dead head Prove Thyself and Unbreakable should all be base kit, it thematically makes sense. Also, why does it take 5 generators to power up 2 gates? They should lower it to 2. Thematically it makes sense. Also, survivors should be able to use weapons and fight back against the killer. Thematically it makes sense
In my opinion, The two survivor nerfs I'm mostly concerned with is Iron Will and Decisive Strike. Don't get me wrong. Iron Will was one of the strongest perks for Survivor, both in chase and stealth. I think a change was warranted. But I think they needed to pick either not working while exhausted or just change the reduction to %75. Both feels like too much. Same with DS, I don't mind the end game change as that's fair, but the 3 second stun duration makes it almost useless against many killers (Spirit, Nurse, Blight, even a good Huntress or Deathslinger). I think the nerfs were necessary, but perhaps overdone in these cases.
soloq is bad bcs people are shit at the game, the devs cant make you play better!! the selfcare meg on the corner of the map IS NOT A GAME MECHANIC the devs can't nerf/buff her!!
the issue is tunneling. With the DS and DH nerfs, killers almost seem giddy about tunneling with no repercussions. Camping/tunneling has always been a thing but I’ve been hard tunneled out of half my matches since the update. I don’t mind dying as long as I have a chance to play the game
