Introducing THE KNIGHT: Dead By Daylight's New Killer Commands Troops to SLAY (DBD PTB)

Dead by Daylight has introduced THE KNIGHT – one of DBD’s most unique killers yet and one of the most notable additions of the “Forged in the Fog” chapter. With an ability to summon and command units to do her bidding, she plays almost like a first person Real Time Strategy game. You’ll make units cut off paths, kick generators, and work with them to hunt down your survivor prey. While the killer does take a little bit of time to get used to … when you do he’s A LOT of fun.

Perks used in these games:
Nowhere to Hide — Whenever you damage a generator, reveal the aura of all survivors standing within 24 meters of your position for 3/4/5 seconds.

Hex: Face the Darkness — When this Hex is inactive and you injure a Survivor, a Dull Totem becomes lit and hexes that Survivor. When the Hex is active, all other Survivors outside of your Terror Radius will have a chance to scream intermittently, revealing their positions and auras for 2 seconds. Other Survivors also see the aura of the cursed Survivor for 12/10/8 seconds. When the cursed Survivor is downed or returned to full health, the Hex is lifted, and the Hex Totem becomes unlit. Cleansing the Hex totem deactivates Hex: Face the Darkness permanently.

Hubris — Whenever you are stunned by a Survivor, that Survivor suffers from the Exposed status effect for 10/15/20 seconds. Hubris has a cooldown of 20 seconds. (Editor’s note: doesn’t seem that good on The Knight, but could be really solid.)

Also, Lethal Pursuer to extend aura reading and Trail of Torment for the undetectable status / sneak up. The aura reading perks ending up being good, but keep in mind you can’t see the survivors in any way when you’re using the power.

  1. 360p gang wya? I'll be back to test more of the For Honor / Forged in the Fog chapter on stream tomorrow (wednesday at 10 AM EST) on https://www.twitch.tv/yerv

Also, 3 of the subtitles i used in the video randomly got moved to the wrong section of the video. Rather than fix these and re-render the video, I'm giving you a fun mini game of figuring out where they were supposed to be. Thanks so much for watching, see you next time!

  2. Calling him “she” in the description, putting Apollyon in the thumbnail, tagging it with Apollyon… I gotta respect the Apollyon clickbait. >.>

I do want an Apollyon skin for him, though…

  3. I don't think this guy is licensed with For Honor at all! this is an original killer I didn't see "for honor" on any part of the PTB release haha. survivor has a lot of lore related to The Fog

  4. This has to be Dbd’s most unique and difficult character (Edit : nvm it just looked difficult because I couldn’t tell what was going on till the power was properly checked out / Edit for the Edit : The knight looks kinda easy it’s basically 2-4 killers in one and you can always have your minions chase the people down)

  5. To explain
Draw a patrol path, or order them to break a pallet, wall, or damage a generator.
if you take the path to a breakable and use order, they spawn there, break it, and vanish. They're slower kickers than you, unless it's the Carnifex, who does it in like, one kick, one second or something, insane.
THE PATH CANNOT DROP DOWN DROPS. You can't go up the hill and drop off. You can't drop off of any structure or cliff or drop, even that macmillan map with the tower, not any bits of the crows map, none of them.

If you draw a patrol path and just let go, they spawn at the end of the path and patrol back and forth, from the end to where you started drawing.
Their detection circle takes a moment to actually grow to full size. (They seem to have a moment of startup time before they can detect.) (They also seem to need LOS to detect, but inconsistent observations so far.)
(You can draw a patrol path of any size it seems, to the maximum, or an inch of spinning back and forth. There's also some kind of 'redundant path prevention' where it refunds some distance if you cut it off.) (You can move them through vaults and pallets and they seem to either path around or slowly ghostly walk through them.)
You cannot see survivors when using the power (unlike Cenobite's Summon Gateway of their power).
The skull dude, Carnifex, does the break order very very fast. Others do it very slow.
The dagger dude, Assassin, runs at a faster speed than other guards when chasing after a survivor. (Seems to be the only one to do deep wounds – 10:00 shows Carnifex hit on a healthy survivor, not inflicting deep wounds. All guards can definitely down survivors.)
The brand and keys guy, Jailor, patrols for twice as long (that is the path, not chasing!) than other guards, and has a much bigger detection radius than other guards. (in a chase, seems to be identical to Carnifex?)
(Carnifex/Assassin seem identical when patrolling. Jailor/Carnifex seem identical when chasing. Jailor/Assassin are identical when breaking)

When the guard detects a survivor, they incorporeally float to where they first spotted them. (Seems to take a set time, going fast if they were far, or taking their time if they spawned right by. Seems to.)
Then they place a banner, flag, standard, whatchacallthekajiggerthing, at that point. Then they begin chasing, but they're slower than you.
You, the Guard, and the Hunted Survivor, do not have collision with each other. (you can't bodyblock a hunted survivor!)
After a few seconds, yall hear a horn. If the hunted survivor runs into the banner, the guard vanishes, and the survivor gets Haste and Endurance. Only the hunted survivor can take the banner it seems, and it does have a timer until they can hit it, when the horn goes.
If the survivor unhooks, the guard vanishes. (no camping! but it's early info)
If another survivor paths into them, the guard will smack them anyway, and then vanish. They focus on one, don't change targets unless it's free slap ahoy.
From the very very point the survivor icon gets the green hunt light up on their portrait: If the guard hits someone (anyone), times out, or the survivor gets smacked, the guard vanishes immediately. So if the survivor is spotted one frame and they go EEYAAAAGH IM GONNA STAB UR ANOOS then the next frame you injure, tough luck, the guard vanishes. You CAN smack other survivors though!
When you down someone, try setting a guard (pref assassin or jailor, for better chase, or for more certain detection) to a patrol around you. Then go hook the survivor. If people try saves, they've got an angery guard to also contend with, like nemi zombies but slightly better!

However! you know that one spot in Ormond, where there's the pallet which you either have to break, or mindgame the survivor? You have to get close and then they jump down then you have to go back around… Or. You set a guard down, probably Jailor, who will ghost fly across/up to their exact location and brand their ass, unless they run away, be it down, or over pallet.

The power cycles between these characters by Carnifex, Assassin, Jailor, and thus cycles. Addons can insert an extra of one character, such as going for Carnifex Assassin Assassin Jailor Jailor, if you use the 'extra Assassin' and 'extra Jailor' addons, and then other addons interact with them and the power in very niche specific ways.

You use the Carnifex to quickly break something off the beaten path (you "move" there super fast, break it super fast, and skip the trip back) (Great at stuff like that ormond pallet drop!)
You use the Assassin when you're confident you can have him come back towards you and find a survivor, or if you want to cut off a small point with the better chaser, with a very very short patrol. Good at shack?
You use the Jailor when you want a long path patrolled for a while. It seems like LOS is needed, so he'll be great at finding someone in a broad area.

  6. Honestly, I like the way they did the for honor crossover. It's not a straight up character from it; it's just a character based on that world. If they wanted to take that kind of approach with others I wouldn't mind honestly
