I'VE PLAYED ALL VERSIONS OF THE PIG

Currently the Pig is the weakest killer in Dead by Daylight. And BHVR seem to be absolutely fine with this. Moreover according to the patch notes most of the changes the Pig has gone through for past 5 years were nerfs. So in this video we’re gonna play every available version of the old Pig and see for ourselves if this is true.

ABOUT THIS GAME
If you’ve never heard of this game before, then, first of all, congrats on avoiding this chaotic mess all this time lol. And second of all, it’s called Dead by Daylight. It’s a 4V1 horror game where one person plays as the killer whose job is to find and eliminate 4 survivors. More at: https://www.deadbydaylight.com

  1. You know something, I think the xbox version of dbd was bugged for several years. If she put a bear trap on you and the timer ran out but you were opening a box you just wouldn’t die. I thought it was intended but when I played pc I died solving the box. Either xbox is bugged or my copy is bugged idk.

  2. Each trap simply used to have a designed key for each box;
    In other words, at spawn, all the keys are already inside the boxes just waiting for to get retrieved.

    This has been explained in a live Q&A. (Don’t remember which one since it was one of the multiple random questions they answer after a showcase/news)

  3. I have an idea for an April Fools Video.

    Make a "I played with all Versions of Adrenaline" Video and Cover it like your Normal Videos. Just that … well you know.

  4. Would giving Pig all the strong shit she used to have (M2 as a basic attack; traps instantly activate at endgame; 24 TR; NOT the old amount of JigSaw boxes cuz i understand why they were increased) make her a good killer nowadays?

  5. After watching this video from start to finish, I’ve come to the logical conclusion that this killer is massively broken and way too OP, Behaviour needs to get on it immediately and nerf the Pig. Could be bad for the health of the game to continue to leave the Pig in her current state.

  6. Pig main since release: you're not quite correct on a few things, or rather you're missing some context.
    Strictly speaking, there were no real concepts of 'stealth killer' back then, or at least it wasn't a formalized archetype in the sandbox, and the overall playstyle for both sides has shifted since then. You have to remember, DBD was still branded as and designed as a stealth horror game for survivors first and foremost, rather than the party game chase simulator we have now, to the point where 'loops' weren't as much a thing except in high tier play or when survivors discovered a repeatable infinite/near-infinite. There certainly wasn't really much in the way of youtubers propagating real strategy on the survivor side, though we were seeing some start to get a footing around the time of her release, and the chase aspect started to gain prominence even by release 2.5.0., the one that originally nixed her stealth aspect.

    Every aspect of her original power was designed with chase and misdirection in mind, rather than 'real' stealth due to that not being a concern on the killer side, with an encouragement of single-hook moris and tunnels in-built by the devs: the slowdown of the original design sandbox was considered to be anything that discouraged a single survivor from being on a gen, plus their automatic activation in exit gates preventing quick end-game escapes, because the game as a whole was more lethal then. RBT's original design, if an analogy helps, was a combination Blood Warden/Deadlock: easily counterable, but able to catch some unaware and often providing significant value against solo or duo targets – not inherently lethal, but forcing survivors to face lethal consequences if unprepared.

    There also wasn't originally math: each RBT had a designated box. That was it. At no point in Pig's history has it been a guaranteed 1 box search for every trap, nor a guaranteed 4 box search, but there's been longstanding mythologizing by the community; any and all math is a recent addition.

  7. I like Pig for a bunch of reasons but I've got to agree about the addons. At this point, I literally only use the Combat Straps (Crouch speed) and John's Medical File (Movement speed whilst crouched), all the others don't synergise well enough for me to bother with.
